Cthulhu Mythos?
Constantine looked bewildered, as if this was the first time he had heard this claim.

Lin Bei could tell at a glance that Constantine didn't understand, and he was too lazy to explain too much to him. He just said perfunctorily, "In short, you can think of it as another kind of ancient evil god. This kind of evil god is a huge system with countless members and many believers. You will come into contact with more of them in the future."

Constantine, being the detective of Hellfire, is far more accepting of this than the average person.

Not to mention that these were Lin Bei's words, Constantine believed them unconditionally.

Constantine shrugged, thought for a moment, and then casually asked, "So, are their characteristics the same as demons? Are they afraid of light and holy things?"

Lin Bei remained silent for a while; he wasn't really sure about this.

Some seem to be afraid, while others seem not to be afraid at all.

Whether the Cthulhu Mythos fears things of light or not is irrelevant to him.

In the face of absolute power, talking about attributes is a joke.

Seeing that Lin Bei remained silent, Constantine didn't press the matter further. He glanced at the television, which had returned to normal, and yawned, "So, can we go back now?"

Lin Bei glanced at Mark and Carol, who were standing there dumbfounded, and nodded slightly in agreement with Constantine's words.

With the biggest threat eliminated, what happened to this family of three was no longer his concern.

Just as he was about to leave, Lin Bei's attention was drawn to the images on the television.

He stopped and glanced sideways at the television emitting a faint white light.

Constantine noticed Lin Bei's gaze and stopped as well, raising an eyebrow in surprise: "I didn't realize you were interested in these kinds of documentaries?"

"Documentary?"

Lin Bei frowned slightly, staring at the people in the scene moving through the abandoned corridor, feeling somewhat surprised.

It turns out that in this world, "Encounters in the Cemetery" is a documentary film, not a mockumentary.

That's right, the TV is showing "Grave Encounters 1," a program filmed by a group of explorers who enter an abandoned mental hospital.

In the original storyline, "Grave Encounters" is a TV program crew that gathers a group of adventurers to enter an abandoned mental hospital to film a horror show.

Of course, that was the original purpose.

Unexpectedly, after they entered this place, many things happened that were difficult to explain scientifically, so much so that after the program was announced, it was directly given the name "documentary".

In "Grave Encounters," Lance Reston and his crew visited this mental hospital. The reason they specifically chose it was because it was rumored to have seen many phenomena that defied scientific explanation, phenomena that had been reported but never definitively explained.

In order to capture valuable footage, they would enter a mental hospital at night, lock themselves inside, and use cameras to capture unnatural phenomena.

This was originally the show's old routine, but as time went on, they found that unnatural phenomena and ghosts were no longer anything special.

What terrified them was that the hospital seemed to be alive and had no intention of letting them leave. Even though they tried their best to escape through the gate, they found that the other side of the gate was still the hospital.

They were as if they were lost in an alternate dimension, with only endless corridors and all sorts of ghosts who had died there.

Even time itself started to go wrong.

Lance Reston lost track of time. As people died one by one, Lance Reston's mind became increasingly clouded. Finally, he seemed to hear some kind of call and began to behave strangely.

Of course, at the end of the video, Lance Reston escaped, taking all the videotapes with him, which is why this documentary was made public.

Lance Reston, on the other hand, was confined to an asylum and isolated from the world.

After recalling the original plot, Lin Bei shifted his gaze from the increasingly eerie atmosphere on the television screen and chuckled, "What a wonderful documentary. This demon is quite interesting; he deliberately lays out bait to lure others into sacrificing their souls."

Constantine looked astonished: "When did you become so capable? You can spot problems even through the television? Do you know how far away this TV station is from us? It's on the other side of the country!"

"Distance has never been a problem for me," Lin Bei said casually, then stepped out of Peter's house.

After learning that this was "Encounter in the Cemetery", Lin Bei already had a plan.

Now that the film has been released, it proves that the original storyline has ended. What we are facing now is the story of "Grave Encounters 2".

In "Grave Encounters 2", the first "Grave Encounters" caused quite a stir among young people who seek thrills when it was first released.

Meanwhile, this little-known mental hospital has become famous throughout the country, with countless young people regarding it as a sacred place and flocking there to visit.

It is against this backdrop that countless young people have gone missing after going to mental hospitals.

This also caught the attention of Alex White, who has a background in film, and he planned to go to the original location to shoot an equally classic and super-horrible film.

Driven by his ideals, Alex White even suspended all his work and, together with his friends Trevor Thompson, Tessa Highmir, and photographer Jerry Lee, rushed to a mental hospital.

Of course, the story ended as expected; they were also trapped in the mental hospital, never able to leave.

The second film was also deliberately leaked by the devil as bait to attract even more adventurers.

With just a glance at the TV, Lin Bei could already deduce that the main characters of "Grave Encounters 2" had most likely already set off for the mental hospital.

How could such an interesting place be complete without him?
Lin Bei smiled slightly, unusually interested: "Let's go, Constantine, collect Zhang Su Rui's payment, and we'll set off immediately."

Constantine watched Lin Bei walk out with a puzzled look on his face, wondering where Lin Bei's sudden interest came from.

He didn't dare ask any more questions, leaving Peter and his family of three behind, and followed Lin Bei out, got into the car, and drove towards the hotel.

According to Lin Bei, the information he left with Zhang Surui was to meet at the largest hotel in the West Coast city. Given Zhang Surui and her team's speed, they should be able to get things sorted out by today.

By the time Constantine drove Lin Bei to the hotel, it was already broad daylight. Everything was going as Lin Bei had expected.

The two hadn't been waiting in the hotel lobby for long when they saw Zhang Surui and Jonathan rushing in.

Constantine stopped them, and the group sat down to chat for a while. Lin Bei and Constantine gladly accepted the large sum of money offered by Zhang Surui. After saying goodbye, Lin Bei and Constantine left the West Coast city and headed straight east.

Fortunately, Lin Bei didn't rush them, and the two weren't too tired after driving through a bustling city and heading towards the suburbs, Constantine finally hesitated and asked, "Are you sure we're here?"

Lin Bei opened his eyes and glanced at the gloomy sky, then lazily replied, "When did I say I was wrong? Stop asking questions and just keep driving."

Constantine pulled out a cigarette and lit it: "What I mean is, we can only see trees ahead, not buildings. It looks like it's going to rain. If there are no buildings, we're going to get soaked."

"Get this straight," Lin Bei said, resting his chin on his hand and looking straight ahead, "you're the only one who'll get wet in the rain."

Constantine, with a cigarette dangling from his lips, gave Lin Bei the middle finger and slammed on the gas, speeding into the wooded path.

As the clouds in the sky grew thicker and the rumble of thunder could be faintly heard, Constantine cursed Lin Bei for being too cunning and pushed the car to its limit.

Fortunately, after Constantine drove the car out of the forest, a white building surrounded by an iron fence appeared on the withered grass ahead.

Although the white building gave off a sinister and eerie feeling, and didn't look too good, Constantine didn't bother to think too much about it. He simply drove over, smashed through the flimsy iron fence, and parked the car at the gate.

Large raindrops pelted down.

Constantine cursed as he jumped out of the car, leaped over the steps, opened the door, and ran inside.

The rain poured down in an instant. Lin Bei got out of the car with a smile, walked slowly up the steps, and followed them into the gate.

After the heavy slam of the gate shut out the torrential rain, Constantine shook the raindrops off his clothes and asked impatiently, "Lin Bei, where exactly is this mental hospital you mentioned? It can't be far, can it? It's raining so hard now, the car seats are all wet, and I don't know when we can continue our journey."

Lin Bei strolled around the lobby, then walked to a pile of packages in the corner with his hands behind his back. He kicked one of the packages, and when a camera device fell out, he smiled and said, "No need to rush anymore, we've arrived."

Constantine was lighting a cigarette when he heard Lin Bei's words. He paused for a moment, looked around, and frowned. "Damn, I was wondering why this place felt off. So this is the mental hospital you were talking about? It really is... demonic power everywhere, and it even smells a bit... Oh my god, it's been so long since I've encountered demons, I almost forgot what this smell was like."

Lin Bei went to the window and watched the gloomy sky outside, with heavy rain falling, quickly darken. He chuckled and said, "Interesting. Something doesn't want us to leave. It wants to trap us here and extract our souls."

Constantine scratched his head, exhaled a smoke ring, and then followed Lin Bei to look outside.

A "whooshing" sound came from outside the dark window. Even though it was muffled by the sound of rain, Lin Bei and Constantine were not ordinary people, and they still managed to catch it.

“A crow?” Constantine frowned. “It’s getting dark way too fast. It was still light when we came in.”

Lin Bei heard faint, chaotic footsteps coming from deep within the hospital. He turned around and casually said, "Yeah, it's already night. Time flows differently here than outside. Time is chaotic here. You'd better not separate from me, or I don't want to find you ten years from now."

Constantine rolled his eyes and gave Lin Bei the middle finger, but he still took Lin Bei's words to heart, since Lin Bei never joked about these things.

Just then, Constantine looked in the direction Lin Bei was looking.

There were several doors around the hall, as well as two staircases, one on the left and one on the right, leading upstairs. Lin Bei stared intently at the tightly closed door directly in front of him, arousing Constantine's curiosity.

What's behind the door?
Two seconds later, Constantine's ears twitched slightly: "You heard footsteps?"

Lin Bei nodded slightly: "Three people, get to the back of the door immediately. The things here want them to meet us."

As soon as he finished speaking, the main door directly in front of him was suddenly pushed open.

Two men and a woman screamed as they rushed into the hall, then turned around and slammed the door shut.

The moment the door closed, Lin Bei saw a dark corridor on the other side, with countless ghosts dressed in white clinging to the walls, trying to grab the three people.

Once the door was closed, Alex White collapsed to the ground, panting, while Tessa Highmiller and Jerry Lee, who was carrying a camera, also sat on the ground, catching their breath.

The three of them were so terrified that they didn't even notice that there were two more people in the hall.

It wasn't until Alex smelled the smoke that he looked up blankly at his surroundings.

When he saw Lin Bei and Constantine standing calmly not far from the entrance, Alex's eyes lit up. He struggled to his feet and rushed over: "You, how did you get in? How long have you been in here? Can you even get out? Oh God, it must be God's will. God sent you to save us, right!"

Alex was almost in tears. They didn't know how long they had been inside. Everything had become abnormal ever since their friend Trevor died mysteriously.

Alex was going crazy. Every door that was opened no longer led to the passage that was supposed to be there, but instead led to some unknown place in the building.

They finally made it back to the lobby, but the door that was supposed to lead to a ward on the third floor.

Alex was terrified and unable to remain calm to think of a way to save himself, nor could he save himself.

All he can think about now is regretting bringing his companions along to film this damn movie.

He swore he would never touch a camera again if he could just get them out of this hellhole!
Upon seeing Lin Bei and Constantine, Alex's despair was ignited with hope. Overjoyed, he rushed towards them, wishing he could hug them and kiss them passionately.

Lin Bei and Constantine both avoided Alex.

Alex was disappointed to find no one there. He didn't seem bothered by the situation, but asked again in a trembling voice, "How did you get in? What time is it outside? Can you still get out? Are we on the missing persons list and you've come to rescue us?"

Alex's excited shouts echoed in the hall, and Tessa and Jerry also reacted, running towards the two of them crying and begging for help.

Lin Bei hid behind Constantine and shook his head slightly: "I wouldn't say we're here to save you, but we are here to resolve the trouble here. In short, tell me about the situation here and your own situation."

The three were stopped by Constantine. After listening to Lin Bei's words, they felt reassured and sat down tremblingly to tell him what had happened.

It turns out that Alex's idol was Langston, and the realistic effect achieved in the first movie made Alex admire Langston even more.

He even privately investigated the background of Langston and the film. (End of Chapter)
