Chapter 23 I accept a disciple, Niu Kui is speechless

At the foot of Mount Buzhou, Laozi sat upright on a blue stone, wearing an eight-diagram immortal robe, with fluttering white hair, and his eyes revealed a depth that penetrated everything in the world.

Above Laozi's head was a magnificent pagoda of heaven and earth, with endless light of merit and virtue, covering all the people who heard it. Then Laozi began to preach: "The Great Dao is invisible, giving birth to heaven and earth; the Great Dao is ruthless, running the sun and the moon; the Great Dao is nameless, nourishing all things; I do not know its name, so I call it Dao. Dao has both clear and turbid, both moving and still..."

The scriptures spoken by Lao Tzu are like the gurgling of water, gentle and powerful, cleansing the hearts of human beings and leading them to explore the true meaning of life.

As Laozi preached the Tao, time passed by like a flash. In the blink of an eye, a hundred years had passed, but the human race was unaware of it, as if only a moment had passed.

During this hundred years, Lao Tzu explained to mankind the Yin and Yang and the Five Elements between heaven and earth, and revealed the natural laws of the growth of all things.

He talked about the idea of following nature, teaching people to follow nature and return to their true nature. His words were like a beacon, illuminating the way forward for the human race and leading them to a bright future.

Laozi's teachings are not only the imparting of knowledge, but also the enlightenment of the soul. His words are deeply rooted in people's hearts, allowing people to understand the true meaning of life through perception. His wisdom is like a bright star, always illuminating the spiritual world of the human race.

While Laozi was preaching the Dao, countless human beings shed their mortal bodies and achieved immortality. Those human cultivators who had already cultivated made rapid progress under Laozi's teachings.

Even the three ancestors of the human race understood the true meaning of life and broke through to the realm of Daluo Jinxian and achieved the Dao fruit of Hunyuan Jinxian because of Laozi's preaching of Taoism.

Even those humans who failed to shed their mortal bodies and achieve immortality are now completely different from before. It's just that they have embarked on another path of cultivation, which is the golden elixir path that Laozi wants to promote among the human race.

The Golden Elixir Dao is divided into four Qi Refining Realms: Refining Essence into Qi, Refining Qi into Spirit, Refining Spirit into Void, and Refining Void into Dao. This also allowed countless human beings who were unable to enter the Immortal Dao to find their own path to cultivation.

As Laozi stopped preaching the Tao, all the humans slowly opened their eyes, except Xuandu, who was sitting in the front, who did not wake up immediately. He was still immersed in the Taoism that Laozi was talking about, unable to extricate himself.

Seeing this scene, Laozi nodded with satisfaction. At this time, Niu Kui had been paying attention to all this, so he spoke directly at this moment.

"Senior Taiqing, this person is one of the three thousand innate humans created by the goddess Nuwa herself, and his name is Xuandu. I wonder if Senior Taiqing thinks he is qualified to be your disciple?"

Last time, because of Niu Kui and Fuxi, Xuan Du was awakened from his state of enlightenment. This also made Niu Kui and Fuxi owe Xuan Du a cause and effect.

So Niu Kui was ready to take this opportunity to repay this karma. Although Xuandu was destined to be Laozi's disciple, he had to go through countless hardships to become Laozi's disciple.

And if, because of Niu Kui, Xuan Du could become Laozi's disciple now, then he wouldn't have to waste hundreds of years visiting famous mountains and looking for a master, and it could be considered that Niu Kui had repaid the karma.

After hearing what Niu Kui said, Laozi nodded and said, "This boy is indeed quite insightful and qualified to be my disciple. From now on, you will be my eldest disciple and the first disciple of the Three Pure Ones. I will give you the name of Master Xuandu."

Laozi's voice directly awakened Master Xuandu. Upon learning that Laozi had accepted him as a disciple, Master Xuandu hurriedly knelt on the ground and respectfully paid homage to Laozi. "I am the disciple of the human race, Xuandu, and I pay homage to my master."

Seeing that Xuan Du had formally accepted Laozi as his master, Niu Kui smiled and said, "Senior Taiqing, as the saying goes, you can't accept a disciple without a gift. I wonder what gift Senior Taiqing wants to give to his eldest disciple."

I am not stingy either. I stretched out my hand into the void and a palm-sized magic weapon appeared in my hand.

"This is what I found on the Treasure Dividing Cliff. It is called the Eight Trigrams Purple Gold Furnace. I am best at alchemy. From now on, you will follow me to practice alchemy. Today, I will give you this Eight Trigrams Purple Gold Furnace as a gift."

As he spoke, Laozi waved his hand and sent the Eight Trigrams Purple Gold Furnace to Master Xuandu. Master Xuandu put away the Eight Trigrams Purple Gold Furnace and bowed to Laozi again, "Thank you, Master, for giving me the magic weapon."

At the same time, Master Xuandu did not forget to look at Niu Kui with gratitude, as if telling Niu Kui, Master Niu Kui, rest assured, I, Xuandu, will never forget my original intention and will not forget that I am a human being.

However, Niu Kui ignored the great master Xuandu and continued to speak to Laozi: "I wonder what Senior Taiqing thinks, besides Xuandu, are there any other human races that are worthy of your attention?"

Hearing Niu Kui say this, Laozi couldn't help but say in his heart: "It seems that there is someone in this human race who is destined to be with me. If I can't accept him as my disciple, it will definitely affect the height of my enlightenment and sainthood."

So he nodded to Niu Kui and looked at the people who were listening. Unfortunately, Laozi did not find any human like the great master Xuandu who made him want to accept him as a disciple.

Finally, his eyes fell on a congenital human not far away. Laozi waved his hand at him and brought him in front of him, saying, "From now on, you will be my disciple, and I will give you the name of Du'e Zhenren."

Then, without Niu Kui saying anything, he took out a magic weapon and handed it to Master Du'e, "This is the Wind-Fixing Bead, which I also obtained on the Treasure-Dividing Cliff. I will give it to you today and keep it for self-defense."

Master Du'e never dreamed that such a good thing could happen to him. After all, among all the innate human race, he was not that outstanding, and he could not even compare with Master Xuandu.

So at this moment, his face was full of gratitude, and he knelt down to kowtow to Laozi, "Disciple Du'e, I pay my respects to Master, thank you Master for bestowing me with the magic weapon."

Niu Kui was almost dumbfounded at this time. He originally just wanted Laozi to recruit a few more human disciples to make the bond between Laozi and the human race stronger, so that he would not have to help Yuanshi Tianzun during the Conferred God War.

But after going around in circles for a long time, Laozi finally only accepted one direct disciple and one registered disciple, and these two were Laozi's original disciples in the ancient trajectory.

In other words, Niu Kui tried hard for a long time, but in the end, nothing changed. This inevitably made Niu Kui a little helpless. Just as he was about to ask Laozi to accept a few more disciples, Laozi spoke first.

"Today's sermon has ended. I will set up a test in Kunlun Mountain. Anyone who can pass the test can become my disciple."
