Chapter 782 Detachment
At first, Xiaoyu only thought that Gou Jiao was very smart and had great perseverance, but that was all.

Later, Xiaoyu recognized his alertness and intelligence, and suspected that he had "natural wisdom".

Later, he mastered the "Zhengqi Jue" within one day. She was amazed that he had such a strong and long "wisdom root".

Now, they had just left Lotus Village not long ago, the second day had not even ended, and the sky had just begun to darken when this guy had an "epiphany" right in front of her.

Not only did his "Art of Righteousness" make great progress, but a vague yet long-lasting "righteousness" also descended from the sky, landed on him, and merged into his body.

Although she taught him "The Art of Righteousness", in order not to waste the "clear water in his cup", she did not teach him any method of cultivating "righteousness".

Now he suddenly realized it.

The total amount of righteous energy that befell him was a hundred times that of her teacher!
Xiaoyu is not afraid of wasting the "clear water in the cup", and started practicing the "Haoran Zhengqi" given by Dou Gengyan very early, and has accumulated some Haoran Qi at present.

It is equivalent to the "potency" of an ordinary internal strength warrior for three years.

Not much.

But it increased a hundred times in an instant, so the scale is a bit exaggerated.

To put it more directly, the total amount of great righteousness in Gou Jiao's body is barely enough to impact the Human Immortal Yuandan realm.

If the Dou family's "Haoran Zhengqi" is taught to him now, he can become a human immortal within a few days.

How could Xiaoyu not suspect that he had immortal bones?

When Gou Jiao heard that Xiao Yu wanted to touch the immortal bone, his eyes lit up, and he immediately took off his sheepskin coat, urging him repeatedly: "Master, please help me touch it. If I really have immortal bones, there must be an immortal who will accept me as a disciple, right?"

Xiaoyu pressed her fingers against his heart and injected a wisp of spiritual energy into his body, allowing it to flow around.

Nothing happens.

"Did you ever take the Tongshen Pill when you were a child?"

"Didn't you check the sacrum?"

Gou Jiao's bright eyes dimmed, and as he put on his clothes, he said, "I know about the Tongshen Pill, but I haven't had the chance to take it.

Only those who are suspected to be born with supernatural powers will get one.

The Taoist priest should have passed away in Pingxiang.

I don't show any special aura, I'm just an ordinary person, there's no need to waste a single elixir."

"What did you understand from what I said just now?" Xiaoyu asked curiously.

Gou Jiao scratched the back of his head and said, "I thought of what Mencius said to King Hui of Liang: If one rejoices in the people's joy, the people will also rejoice in his joy; if one worries about the people's worries, the people will also worry about his worries.

Before today, I only understood the surface meaning of this sentence.

After hearing the Taoist priest's previous sentiments, I suddenly understood the benevolence of the saints. "

Xiao Yu wondered, "Could it be that Mencius's words have another meaning?"

What Mencius said to King Hui of Liang is simple and easy to understand and there is absolutely no chance of misunderstanding.

How to understand the “deeper meaning”?
There is no deep meaning at all!
Xiaoyu was very sure.

Gou Jiao asked in return, "What do we want to learn from the books of sages?
Is it to learn the ways of governing a country and benefiting the world taught by saints?

But studying is not for the purpose of becoming an official.

The books of sages are not just for emperors and generals.

Is it to learn the virtues and conduct advocated by the saints?

As a person living in the world, who doesn't know what virtues the world admires and needs? Why do we need saints to promote them? "

Gou Jiao shook his head and said, "The main purpose of reading the books of sages is to help us understand the ancient sages and become good people like them!
The superficial meaning I understood from Mencius's words of admonition to King Hui of Liang was merely the art of governing a country and controlling its people.

If I were not a king or a general, wouldn't the teachings of the sages be of no use to me?
Now I realize that this superficial meaning is not the point.

The point is that this sentence taught me what kind of person Mencius was and how I can become a sage.

When he said this, he must have felt the same as you, Taoist Priest.

Truly treat the common people as "people" like themselves, rather than tools to serve the dynasty and the emperor.

This kind of "benevolence" is completely different from the "benevolence" that treats the people like crops in the fields and hopes for a good harvest next year. "

Xiao Yu smiled and said, "Are you praising me for being a saint?"

Gou Jiao said: "Master Luobo is indeed a saint, I am not exaggerating, I am telling the truth.

However, the epiphany I gained belongs to me alone and has nothing to do with Taoist Radish himself."

Xiao Yu nodded slightly and said, "This is true. Your insights belong only to you. The aura from heaven did not fall on me at all."

Gou Jiao asked curiously, “I’ve heard people say that Confucians can cultivate their noble spirit through reading.

What's the point of this anger? Will it waste my 'water in the cup'?"

Xiao Yu looked him up and down and asked, "How do you feel right now?"

Gou Jiao felt it carefully for a moment, then said: "It seems that my heart feels a little warmer, but there is no other change.

My head is still a little stuffy and my body still aches."

Xiao Yu pondered and said: "There is a kind of 'righteousness' between heaven and earth, which is spread among all things in the world.

It can become rivers and mountains, and it can turn into the sun, moon and stars.

This kind of "righteousness" is actually "normal" and in line with the great rules of human nature for the world.

Have you ever seen the moon open its eyes and grin, sprinkling its crazy moonlight onto the earth, making everyone's blood boil and drive them crazy?

You haven't seen it, because our world is righteous and normal.

It’s just that, after seeing so much ‘normality’, we get used to it and don’t think ‘normality’ is that rare.”

Gou Jiao asked curiously, "Master, have you ever seen a grinning moon?"

Xiao Yu shook his head and said, “I haven’t seen it, but I have seen the strange and evil world outside the domain.

The nightmare that the evil spirits project into our minds is the landscape of the 'abnormal' world."

Gou Jiao seemed to be thinking about something.

Xiao Yu continued: "When this kind of 'righteousness' is given to us humans and combined with human thoughts and will, it becomes 'great energy'.

Because "Qi" comes from the spirit, the original "Haoran Qi" is a way to refine the mind.

It only makes the belief stronger, but the amount of mental power does not increase much.

You cultivate the righteousness with benevolence, and the righteousness you cultivate is like armor, protecting you from the belief in "benevolence" and preventing it from being invaded by external objects or external evils.

As long as the spirit remains, the belief in benevolence will not die.

Some Confucian scholars transformed this firm belief into real and genuine power.

That is to say, "cultivating both the body and the soul", combining the righteousness of the spirit with the energy and blood of the body to form an internal skill called 'righteousness'."

Gou Jiao said: "So if I only use the righteousness to cultivate my mind, it won't affect my future cultivation of qi and immortality?"

Xiao Yu said: "Your body is a glass of clear water, and so is your spiritual will.

However, the great righteousness is the most superior method of cultivating the mind.

Any immortal who teaches you the magic is a righteous immortal and will not mind you practicing the great energy.

As for whether the Haoran Qi can influence the 'Way of Heavenly Immortals', I have limited knowledge and cannot answer this question."

All she could be sure of was that for earthly immortals, heavenly masters, and scattered immortals who had no future in achieving the Dao (Daluo Jinxian), the cultivation of the heart with the great energy was beneficial and harmless. She had never seen a single heavenly immortal technique.

I only have my own speculation about the "celestial immortal status" and I don't know whether it is right or wrong.

"A celestial being!" Gou Jiao showed a yearning look on his face. "I have also heard people say that among the five celestial beings, heaven, earth, man, ghosts and gods, the celestial being is the most noble. I——"

He wanted to say, "If I could become an immortal immortal, I would be satisfied. Immortals only desire, they don't force anything."

But as soon as these words came to his throat, a huge amount of resentment and depression suddenly surged in his heart.

I couldn't even say this.

——How can I have such great ambitions? Where do I get the confidence? Where does my unwillingness come from?

He himself was puzzled and could not understand it at all.

"The 'Integrity Secret' that the Taoist priest taught me is also a method of cultivating the mind," he said.

Xiao Yu said: "The Righteous Qi Jue and the Great Righteous Qi sound similar, and they are also similar when practiced.

But the intentions and directions of the two are completely different.

"Haoran Zhengqi" strengthens the "will of the sage" in your heart and allows you to transform into a sage step by step.

All the monks who cultivate the great and righteous energy will turn into the same holy statue after reaching the great success realm.

Have you ever seen mold?

Haoran Zhengqi is a set of molds.

No matter whether you were originally a mule or a horse, you will eventually become something called a "sage".

There's nothing wrong with that.

It is just that ‘man is not a saint’, man can never become a saint with perfect virtues.”

“The Art of Righteousness is based on the Buddhist Heart Sutra, and its fundamental purpose is to eliminate the root dust and false thoughts and find a part of one’s true nature.

The nature that can be found must conform to the attribute of 'righteousness'.

The qualities of nature that are not 'righteousness' cannot be found."

Human nature is complex.

Suppose a person's true nature is a deck of playing cards.

The rank and suit of each playing card represents a quality in one's nature.

There are two cards in someone's "Nature Poker", namely greed and sincerity.

Now the false thoughts and delusions are like a pair of hands, turning the playing cards upside down on the table and then covering the table with a piece of cloth.

The cards belong to the individual and are his true heart, but he does not know where the cards are, let alone the suit and value of the cards.

Buddhist theory: Lift the tablecloth and you will find the playing cards in your heart. Turn over all the cards and see all the points and suits. This is the moment you realize your true nature and meet the conditions for becoming a Buddha.

Change to "Haoran Zhengqi". When a person who has the two cards of Greed and Sincerity practices "Haoran Zhengqi", the points and suit of the "Greed" card will be directly erased and replaced with the points and suit representing "Generosity".

It can be said that his "sincerity" was tampered with and the cards were changed.

But it has been changed to be "more perfect", with better points and suits.

A hand of shitty cards, all replaced with jokers.

If you practice the "Righteousness Art" and use "rightness" to find your true heart, the "Greed" card will not move at all, still covering the table and covered by the tablecloth. Only the card representing "Sincerity" will be turned over in response to the "Righteousness Talisman·Sincerity".

Only this small part of "true heart" can break through the false thoughts of the root world.

The remaining playing cards, such as "Greed", are still covering the table.

Compared to the "Buddha's Realm" where all the cards are turned over, the goal of "Righteousness Art" is lower, and only the playing cards with righteousness attributes are turned over.

If one practices "Haoran Zhengqi", one will get an ideal deck of cards, which is theoretically perfect.

By practicing the "Heart Sutra" and turning over all the cards, you can become a Buddha. However, if the turned over cards represent more "evil", then "one thought will turn you into a demon."

The realm between the devil and the Buddha can basically be equated.

They all found their true nature, but some people's nature is evil and some people's nature is good.

Those with good nature become Buddhas, and those with evil nature become demons.

Therefore, even though there are so many Arhats and Bodhisattvas in Lingshan Buddhism, they still fight among themselves and are still greedy, angry, and ignorant.

Practicing "The Art of Righteousness" is simply about finding the good side of your own nature.

When the “good cards” are turned over and the “bad cards” remain untouched, people will become better and will not become homogenized.

Millions of people practiced the "Righteous Qi Jue", and the results were different for each of them. The only thing they had in common was that they were all becoming better than before, but none of them could become a Buddha.

In the end, Gou Jiao still failed to transform the great righteousness in his body into "internal strength".

But his noble spirit was not wasted.

Xiao Yu carefully inquired about the changes of the "righteousness talisman" in his mind when he was captured by the demon last night.

Then she spent a few days helping him update "The Art of Righteousness" to version 2.0: putting on the "Righteousness Talisman" with the armor of righteousness.

Before, the "Zhengqi Talisman" had been running naked, facing the evil spirits (consciousness) that invaded the heart. It cannot be said that there was no resistance at all, but it can only be said that the strength of resistance was determined by personal beliefs.

It is not the "Righteousness Talisman" that strengthens belief, but the strength of belief that determines the strength of the "Righteousness Talisman".

The only effect of the "Righteousness Talisman" is to transform into an eternal lamp, illuminating a "realm of light" in the dark heart.

Now Xiaoyu has woven the righteousness into a set of armor and put it on the "Righteousness Talisman". Its strength is determined by two factors: personal belief and armor.

Two months later.

A mass grave outside Fucheng, Hejian County.

It was three o'clock in the morning and the night was already deep.

Still wearing his sheepskin coat, he walked along the rugged hillside as if taking a leisurely stroll in a garden.

There were many messy bones in the grass. He didn't have to lower his head to look for them, but he could always avoid them just right and never stepped on a human bone.

"Huhuhu~~~"

Suddenly, a cold night wind blew across the hills, as if blowing something out from the ground and from the weeds. Hazy and dim shadows emerged one after another from the ground.

When the night wind died down for a while, they turned into common people with ragged clothes, broken limbs, and holding hoes, sickles and other farm tools in their hands.

"Cut wood to make weapons, raise a pole as a flag, kill, kill, kill~~~" Some people were roaring loudly.

The roar was actually the sobbing of a ghost.

"If you miss the time, you will be beheaded. It's better to rebel and ask for a chance to live!"

A headless general riding a bone horse rushed out from among the peasant soldiers, waving the dagger in his hand and roaring like a gale.

Another half-rotten warhorse rushed over, shouting: "Carrying bamboo poles, carrying linen clothes, carrying hoes to attack the big flag. Smash the measuring bucket and tear up the Qin law, and every family can drink thick millet~~"

"Kill, kill, kill~~~" All the peasant soldiers raised their weapons and roared.

The two cavalry generals charged in the front, and hundreds of people followed behind, forming a frenzy of evil soldiers.

Gou Jiao sighed and walked towards the tide.

He was like a transparent reef. The ghosts avoided him, but seemed unable to see him and completely ignored him.
