Chapter 228: Honnōji Temple

Faneng Temple is also near Xianyang Avenue.

After leaving the government office, we entered Xianyang Avenue connecting to the East City Gate. After walking about two hundred steps, we turned north and came to a slightly narrower street called "Sankoujing Street".

Honnō-ji Temple is at the end of Sankoui Street.

Next to the main gate of Honengji Temple, in addition to poor literati who write letters for others, Taoist priests who tell fortunes, and various snack stalls and small goods stalls, there is also a small pavilion that is transparent from front to back and there is a well inside the pavilion.

When Xiaoyu arrived at the entrance of Honeng Temple, he happened to see a few "Chinese monks" drawing water there.

The reason why we emphasize "Chinese monks" is that in addition to Akakura, there are many "foreign monks" in Honnōji Temple.

As soon as Xiaoyu entered the temple gate, she was recognized.

Not only did the monks in the temple know her, but several pilgrims who were about to worship Buddha also exclaimed in a low voice: "It's Xiao Fengxian. She just killed the evil spirit. Why is she here in Faneng Temple?"

Xiao Yu was very calm and confident. Under the guidance of the monks, she burned incense, worshipped Buddha and prayed. Then she went to the side hall to listen to the old monk Chi Jiuluo preaching.

The Buddha worshipped by believers in the temple is not Sakyamuni or Guanyin Bodhisattva, but Dipankara Buddha and a group of monks with difficult-to-pronounce names.

When Chijura was preaching, he actually opened up his "telepathy" and projected a majestic and sacred statue of Dipamkara directly into the hearts of the believers.

It was as if they were facing the Buddha himself and listening to the voice of Buddha's wisdom. The pilgrims looked extremely pious and listened with fascination.

They were all very quiet, without any fanatical expressions, shouting at the Buddha statue.

But the atmosphere at the scene made Xiaoyu feel very uncomfortable and weird.

However, Chijura's method of preaching was a bit evil, but the Buddhist teachings he expounded were very formal.

They are all Buddhist sayings that teach people to become enlightened, inspire wisdom, find their true hearts, and elevate their spirits.

It’s not that there are no personal opinions mixed in, but his personal opinions only emphasize that Dipankara Buddha is the most respected of all Buddhas and the master of Lingshan Mountain.

Xiao Yu listened for a while and gained a lot - the "Chijuro Killing Method" was slightly accelerated.

"Miss Yu——"

After the lecture, he followed Chijuro to the Zen room in the backyard and poured a cup of tea. He was interrupted by Xiaoyu as soon as he opened his mouth.

"Master, you can just call me 'Xiao Yu' or 'Xiao Feng Xian'. Don't be polite."

——But you came to Honeng Temple right after you killed Chi Lingzi. I really want to be “unfamiliar” with you!

Chi Jiu Luo sighed inwardly, but said with a polite expression, "Xiao Fengxian, do you have anything to ask me?"

"I did have something to ask the master, but after listening to the sutra for a while, I found that compared with my own little things, discussing the profound meaning of Buddhism is a truly meaningful matter."

Xiao Yu sighed deeply, "Oh, I regret it. When the master invited me to come to the temple to listen to the sutras more often, I should have come here every day."

Chijura smiled and said, "You can come to listen to the sutra anytime. Besides, the wisdom of the Buddha Dipankara is infinite, but the sutras are limited. I can only talk about so much. If you listen too much, you will repeat yourself."

Xiao Yu nodded and asked, "Master, do you know about Chi Lingzi?"

"I've heard something about it." Chijuro said simply.

Xiaoyu turned over her right hand, and there was a glowing red bead in her palm.

Chijuro exclaimed, "Demon Pill?"

Xiao Yu handed the bead to him and said, "This was found in Chi Lingzi's stomach."

Chi Jiu Luo took the red bead, observed it carefully, and sensed it carefully. After a moment, he handed it back to her and said with a complicated expression: "Chi Lingzi is really not a good person."

"He is not a human at all, he is a monster!" Xiaoyu said.

Chijuro shook his head and said, "There are bad people among humans, there are quite a few bad people, there are also good people among monsters, and people with virtue are not uncommon, we can't generalize."

"Master, great insight!" Xiao Yu praised first, and then said: "Master, your Buddhist teachings are profound, and you have already seen that Chi Lingzi has killed countless lives in order to condense this blood pill.

Now that he is dead, I have obtained this demon pill, but I cannot absorb and utilize it directly.

I wonder if the master can help me purify the evil spirits in the blood pill?"

Chijuro asked curiously, "How did you catch the inner elixir of the deer demon?"

"Dig it out of my stomach."

Chijuro frowned and said: "The inner elixir is not a physical object. Now that it has lost the spiritual power of its master, it has become a spiritual bead.

But when inside the deer demon's body, it must be in a strange state that is like spirit but not spirit, like aura but not aura.

If the deer demon is dead, the inner elixir will even dissipate quickly.

After all, the inner elixir is the result of the interaction between sex and life. As long as sex and life are still there, the deer demon will not die.

The deer demon died, his nature was destroyed, his life was gone, and his inner elixir was dispersed."

Xiao Yu smiled and said, “Although I am young, I have encountered many monsters. For example, I have a big yellow dog that has become a spirit.

For example, I used to live in Wuthering Heights outside the East City Gate, and I got to know the Yaksha who patrolled the river in Howling Wind Bay. He was a river monster himself, and he had dozens of monsters under him.

I also learned some basic medical skills from Min Shenyi, and practiced on those river monsters, so I am very familiar with monster auras and monster bodies. "

She really didn't lie.

Zifu was able to immediately deduce a method to extract the demon pill, thanks to her having practiced medical secrets on the river demon and being very familiar with the demon's aura and body.

The method she used to pick the demon pill was also related to medical skills.

The basis of the medical skills taught by Dr. Min is to sense, identify and control the "Yin Yang and Five Elements Qi" in the human body.

The demon pill is the source of the demon's "yin and yang and five elements."

Why are immortals immune to all diseases?
Why is it that once I swallow a golden pill, my life is in my own hands?

Immortals can use the golden elixir to directly adjust their yin and yang and five elements, leaving no chance for disease to grow.

This is also the reason why medicine seems so awesome but can only be reduced to a side path.

By refining the immortal elixir, even if you have never studied medicine or read medical books, you can immediately possess medical skills equivalent to the mastery of medical techniques.

Basically, everything that medical experts can do, immortals can do as well.

"Although you can't be called blessed, you are really lucky."

Chijuro understood Xiaoyu's explanation and accepted it completely.

The "luck" he mentioned does not mean that killing Chi Lingzi depends on luck.

Instead, he was lucky enough to have thoroughly studied the monster's body in advance, thus having the strength to launch a surprise attack and kill Chi Lingzi.

This kind of "luck" is more appropriately replaced by "hard life".

"Chi Lingzi didn't look for anyone else, but chose me. What kind of luck is this? Chi Lingzi is dead now, but he still has five beloved relatives and friends."

Xiao Yu looked at the old monk eagerly, holding the blood bead in his palm, and said: "Now I hope it can help me improve my strength as soon as possible." Chi Jiu Luo said: "Although Chi Lingzi used extremely vicious evil methods to form this demon pill, the demon pill itself is a 'great treasure' of life and death, and its spiritual energy is very pure.

Under normal circumstances, warriors can absorb it directly.

Just this one blood pill can allow an ordinary warrior with mediocre talent to condense a qi pill and reach the realm of human immortality.

Can't you absorb it?"

Xiao Yu said: "It may be very pure for ordinary warriors, but compared to my pure Yang internal force, it is still not pure enough."

A warrior will be able to integrate evil spirit or strong energy into his own true essence. Xiaoyu's internal force is infinitely far from the pure yang immortal energy, but after being integrated with the pure yang evil spirit, it can barely be called "pure yang internal force."

Also because of his inner strength's special kind of pure Yang, he cannot eat blood dates or venison, nor can he directly absorb the spiritual energy of the demon pill.

The demon pill's spiritual energy is very pure, but to the Pure Yang Immortal, it is just a piece of filthy stuff.

"Can we use pure yang internal energy to purify the demon pill?" asked Chijiuluo.

"How to purify it? When the pure yang internal force comes into contact with the demon pill's spiritual energy, it is like a raging flame burning ice water, with a sizzling sound and a violent reaction." Xiaoyu said.

In fact, it is not completely unabsorbable.

Directly using the Tai Chi Changchun Gong to absorb it will conflict with the pure Yang internal force.
If you use the "Blood Spirit Sutra" you just learned to absorb it, you can directly integrate it into the blood and extract "blood spiritual power".

That is to say, under normal circumstances, the spiritual power is extracted from the blood of living people using the Blood Spirit Sutra.

Xiao Yu is not sure whether this kind of spiritual power can be called "immortal power", but it is indeed different from the internal power of immortal martial arts (true essence) - the concentration of "spirituality" is higher.

But in this way, it is equivalent to her directly practicing the "Blood Spirit Sutra".

If she is given 10,000 blood pills, she can practice the Blood Spirit Sutra.

Anyway, the martial arts are dead, but people are alive. She can use blood pills to practice and just not kill people.

But Chi Lingzi only had one demon pill, and when he was halfway through practicing the "Blood Spirit Sutra", the demon pill was gone. What should he do?
She would definitely not be coerced by a martial art to change her original intention to kill people and take their blood.

Either give up halfway and completely; or try to transform the "blood spiritual power" cultivated in the "Blood Spirit Sutra" into ordinary internal power and return to the original path.

Instead of going through so much trouble at that time, it would be better to find the old monk now to inquire about the Buddhist method of purifying "blood spiritual power".

"I am far from reaching the Pure Yang realm, and cannot purify this blood pill to the degree that meets your requirements."

The old monk hesitated for a while, then continued: "But I know a master of alchemy who may be able to refine this blood pill into a furnace of elixirs. But the reward for refining the elixir is a bit high."

"How much silver does it cost?" Xiaoyu asked.

The old monk stammered, "I don't want silver, but I want about 80% of the elixir I made."

"Eighty percent? This is a robbery!" Xiaoyu shouted.

The old monk smiled bitterly and said, "Not really. Alchemy requires the use of the main, secondary, and auxiliary ingredients. To prepare this blood pill, the alchemist must prepare a lot of magical medicines and treasures.

And there is a certain probability of failure in alchemy.

If the furnace explodes, both you and the alchemist will lose everything.

At that time, let alone 20%, you will get nothing.”

"Forget it then." Xiao Yu put away the blood pill and took out a crystal clear jade token from the pouch on his waist, saying, "Master, take a look at this."

The old monk took the jade pendant and felt it carefully for a moment, then said in surprise: "Is this found on Chi Lingzi? There are many ghosts of young girls trapped inside.

What a crime, what a crime!

These are all souls forcibly extracted from living people, and they are filled with such strong resentment.

Many girls have been tortured to the point that their souls have lost their spirituality, become numb and dull, and are about to die.

Alas, it is not unfair that he fell into your hands. The Buddha Dipankara is using you to punish the evil spirit."

Xiaoyu was very happy to see the old monk’s attitude towards Chi Lingzi’s death: Damn it!
But the way he expressed it made her mouth twitch slightly: Do I and my kung fu have anything to do with the Buddha Dipamkara?
"Master, can you send them back into reincarnation?"

The old monk nodded without hesitation and said, "Of course, I will help them escape from the sea of suffering now."

As he spoke, he placed the jade pendant in front of him, quickly flipped the Buddhist beads with his left hand, placed his right hand in front of his chest, and chanted Buddhist scriptures loudly.

There was no miraculous power (Buddha's power) emerging from him, but the jade token seemed to have opened a door, and gray shadows emerged from the jade token.

They were grey, like a mist, and the human figures could not be discerned with the naked eye.

Xiaoyu can see their true faces in the ghost world only with the "spiritual eye of the heart".

Most of them are so dull that they don't look like "living ghosts" and have no spirituality.

Xiaoyu also saw an old acquaintance: the fairy Chang'e.

The fairy Chang'e was very spiritual. She even prostrated herself on the ground and kowtowed to her and the old monk.

As the old monk chanted, a light golden door opened in the ghost path. Buddha's light and the sound of Zen chanting shone from behind the door. The dazed ghosts bathed in the Buddha's light and listened to the Buddha's sounds. Their eyes gradually became bright, and their faces revealed complex emotions such as pain, hatred, joy, and gratitude.

“Go, go!” The old monk waved his hand gently, and the souls of the girls bowed down together, both to the old monk and to Xiaoyu. After bowing, they all floated into the golden light gate in the ghost path and disappeared.

After the women disappeared, the light gate gradually dimmed and finally disappeared completely.

Xiao Yu asked curiously, "The master didn't seem to use any Buddhist magical powers just now."

The old monk said: "You don't need supernatural powers, just recite the 'Sutra for the Deliverance of the Dead' by the Buddha Dipankara."

"But I saw a golden portal opened, and Buddha's light and sound came out from behind the portal. Why can such a miraculous effect be achieved by just chanting scriptures?" Xiao Yu asked puzzledly.

The old monk was surprised and asked, "You can see the door and the Buddha's light, and you can also hear the Buddha's voice?"

"I have seen ghosts, dealt with ghosts, and entered the ghost world many times." Xiao Yu said.

The old monk shook his head and said, "I know you can enter the ghost world, but the 'Buddha's Shadow' of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva cannot be seen or felt by those without great wisdom and great opportunity."

At this point, his heart moved, and he looked at Xiao Yu thoughtfully and said, "Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva knows you, and he certainly doesn't hate you. Xiao Fengxian, you have a great affinity with Buddhism!"

Xiaoyu was not surprised at all.

Last time, her ghost son Chi Miao said that Ksitigarbha was also discussing the matter of worshipping a godfather in Tianmen Town!
Moreover, the yamen was betting on God's will, and even the Emperor of Heaven was alarmed, so it was impossible for Ksitigarbha not to know about it.

It's just that "Kāśyapa doesn't hate her and is willing to have a relationship with her", which makes Xiaoyu a little surprised: she will submit a "godchild document" to Kāśyapa someday.

What if it happens?
"Since I have a connection with Buddhism, can you teach me the 'Sutra for the Deliverance of the Dead'?"

The old monk still did not hesitate at all, but showed a bit of joy on his skinny face, "Of course! I have thirty-six scriptures of the Buddha Dipankara here, including those on delivering babies, removing gloom, eliminating karma, exorcising evil spirits, accumulating blessings, fasting, repenting, and self-cultivation. All the confusion and difficulties in the process of human birth, aging, illness and death can be found in the scriptures."

Xiao Yu was also very happy, "Thank you, Master. I am willing to learn!"

——Not only am I willing to learn, I am also willing to live here permanently until Chi Lingzi’s relatives and friends are beaten to death by you.

She came to Honeng Temple, purifying the blood pill was secondary, the key was to find a big backer and save her life from the revenge of the evil "Yanwang Nose Bridge".
