Chapter 1292 No zuo no die, zuo no die.

Now, Grand Tutor Yu, carrying the Hengshan Divine Talisman, had just entered the Black Ice Platform when he saw the old monk explaining Buddhist teachings to several old Taoist priests in a side hall next to the Sanqing Hall.

Among the group listening was Chestnut Taoist.

The old Taoist priests sat upright, their attitude respectful, listening intently. They didn't even notice when Grand Master Yu arrived; it was only when Chi Jiuluo stopped his sermon that he took the initiative to stop.

“You may continue your discussion of the Dharma; I have some private matters to discuss with Master Chijiuluo.”

Grand Tutor Yu summoned Chi Jiuluo to a tea room and asked, "How have you been these past few days, Master?"

The old monk smiled and said, "Very good, very good. China truly deserves to be called a land of civilization and etiquette. Whether it is a Taoist master or a nobleman or commoner in Xianyang, even if they have some doubts about my identity, they have never been impolite."

The group's speech and behavior were quite orderly. Their debates on principles were all well-founded, convincing not only of the facts but also of the people, without being swayed by sectarian biases or prejudices.

Grand Tutor Yu nodded. "I am relieved that you can adapt to life in Xianyang."

Actually, she wasn't worried at all.

The westward migration was the last resort for the Ying clan and some of the old Qin nobles.

Xiniu Hezhou, especially the area west of the Tongtian River, is definitely within the Buddhist sphere of influence.

If you want to establish a country and settle down within the Buddhist sphere of influence, how can you not make good friends with Buddhist monks?

Moreover, Chijiu Luo was not a pure monk who was only proficient in Buddhist teachings but also ignorant of worldly affairs and inflexible.

He had long been involved in worldly affairs and was adept at dealing with the powerful and influential. He was very shrewd and cunning.

Aside from his pure faith in the Buddha Dipankara, he is not pure in any other respect.

"Master, look at this." Grand Tutor Yu took out the shimmering talisman to show him and said with a smile, "Now that we have the talisman, we're just waiting for that scoundrel Jin Chanzi... cough cough, when Elder Jin Chanzi arrives, we can go to Hengshan to take up our post!"

Seeing the undisguised gloating on Grand Tutor Yu's pretty face, Chi Jiuluo's expression became conflicted, and he grumbled, "I'm afraid Jin Chanzi won't be able to come."

Grand Tutor Yu's expression changed. "The Spirit Mountain doesn't want the divine position of the Lord of Hengshan?"

"Yes, of course I want it!" Chijiu Luo said hurriedly.

"It's just that too many people want it; people on Buddha's side want it, and people on our side want it too."

Grand Tutor Yu frowned and said, "I wrote a memorial earlier and burned it in the Heavenly Court, informing the new Lord of Hengshan that he is Jin Chanzi."

Today, when the angels descended to earth and handed me the divine register, they only urged the new Hengshan God to take up his post as soon as possible, without rejecting my proposal, which means that the Heavenly Emperor acquiesced to it.

"How can we possibly replace it with someone else now?"

Chijiu Luo said, "That's exactly what I told the Buddha. I don't know what happened on Mount Ling."

A few days ago, the Grand Tutor was still battling with several great immortals in the celestial formation when suddenly a 'Silver-Headed Jiedi' delivered a letter.

It was written by Bodhisattva Huaguang.

He said he was recruiting soldiers and horses, and would soon be able to come to the east to assume the divine position of Lord Hengshan.

As he spoke, he took out a folded piece of yellow hemp paper from his sleeve, opened it, and handed it to Grand Tutor Yu.

Grand Tutor Yu took it and glanced at it. It was a simple sentence, but his tone was arrogant and unrestrained.

"I heard that the Grand Tutor once met Bodhisattva Huaguang? I reckon he felt that he had a past with you and could take advantage of his proximity."

"It's actually Bodhisattva Huaguang!" Grand Tutor Yu said with an awkward expression, "I have indeed met Bodhisattva Huaguang, and we have a fairly good relationship."

If there is truly a great benefit to be given to the monks of Lingshan, I would be happy to let them enjoy it.

"But Lord Hengshan."

—Hua Guang, is your brain filled with mush? In the entire Ling Mountain, who doesn't know that I have an old grudge against Jin Chanzi? Would I give away such a great benefit to my enemy for nothing?

Chi Jiuluo also understood Yu Taishi's plan: to kill Jin Chanzi.

“Bodhisattva Huaguang is not an arrogant or ignorant person. He possesses unparalleled supernatural powers and is quite famous in China. He also holds the title of ‘Guardian Marshal’ in the Xuanmen sect,” he explained.

"Isn't Bodhisattva Huaguang a disciple of the Tathagata? Why does the Master say that he belongs to our school?" Grand Master Yu asked.

Chijiu Luo asked, "Grand Tutor, do you know the background of Bodhisattva Huaguang?"

Grand Tutor Yu nodded and said, "He is the wick of the lamp before the Buddha's throne, the essence, spirit, and soul of fire. He once released a radiant light to help the Buddha establish the Western Paradise in a barren and bitter land."

This is what she heard when she was chatting with Lu Lingzi and Qingyang Zhenren in the northern frontier.

Chijiuluo shook his head and said, "This can be considered the origin of 'Huaguang Bodhisattva,' but it is not his true origin."

There are four divine lamps in the world, one of which is called the 'Lotus Lamp'. The Grand Tutor saw it; it was in the hands of the Third Holy Mother of Mount Hua.

One lamp belonged to the Primordial Celestial Venerable and was called the 'Jade Void Glazed Lamp'. Another lamp was in the hands of the Supreme Lord Laozi and was placed in the Eight Views Palace of Xuandu, where it was called the 'Heavenly Lamp'.

The last divine lamp is the 'coffin lamp', which belongs to Dipankara Buddha.

All supernatural powers and methods originate from the imitation and utilization of the natural way, such as the Samadhi Divine Fire.

There are various methods for refining the modern "Samadhi Fire", but the original source of the "Samadhi Fire" was the coffin lamp of Dipankara Buddha.

The fire spirit born from the coffin lamp was 'Ma Shan'.

“Ma Shan.” Xiao Yu’s heart skipped a beat. “I’ve seen this character in ‘The Investiture of the Gods’, the fire demon Ma Shan.”

"Yes, that's him. Huaguang Bodhisattva's real name is 'Ma Shan', and in the West he is also known as 'Ma Tianwang' or 'Three-Eyed Ma Wangye' by believers."

Although he has now become a Bodhisattva in the West, he used to follow Dipankara Buddha in the Central Plains in his early years.

"He is an old friend of the great immortals and gods of the Xuanmen sect, so he is confident that he can safeguard the divine position of Lord Hengshan," said Chijiuluo.

To put it bluntly, Ma Shan, this "bald bandit of Ling Mountain," like Ju Liusun, Cihang, and others, was a convert from the Xuanmen sect.

Grand Tutor Yu asked curiously, "Since it was the divine lamp of the Buddha Dipankara, why did it fall into the hands of the Buddha Tathagata, and why did Ma Shan change allegiance and become a disciple of the Buddha Tathagata?"

Chijiu glanced at her, his expression complicated, and said, "Even the position of 'Buddha'... Dipankara Buddha is the teacher of all Buddhas. Shakyamuni became Tathagata only after receiving the enlightenment and teachings of Dipankara Buddha."

As the most favored disciple of Dipankara Buddha, Tathagata not only received the great Dharma, but even the coffin lamp became his treasure for attaining enlightenment.

When the Tathagata attained enlightenment, Ma Shan, who assisted him in establishing the Western Pure Land of Buddha, also attained the 'Bodhisattva fruition' and became the present-day Huaguang Bodhisattva.

"The wick of the coffin lamp transformed into Ma Shan. What about the other lamps? Does Master know?" Grand Tutor Yu asked.

"It seems that even the lamp wicks have become sentient beings. I have never heard of the names of the lamp wick spirits or what they have done."

"Grand Tutor, you can go to the archives and look for it. Perhaps Emperor Ying Zheng has collected relevant information," said Chi Jiuluo.

Grand Tutor Yu sighed, “Originally, there was no war in the Central Plains, and I spent my days reading in the library, enjoying a carefree life.”

Since the beginning of the year, when I went to the southeast to dredge the earth's veins, I've been spinning like a top, feeling like there's always something to do. I haven't had time to properly calm down and reflect in the meditation room.

Chi Jiuluo comforted him, "The books in the archives are there; they won't grow legs and run away. Once the Grand Tutor has pacified the world, there will be plenty of time to study them at his leisure."

Grand Master Yu pointed to the Hengshan Divine Register and asked, "With the Divine Register here, when will Bodhisattva Huaguang return to his place?"

Chi Jiuluo looked puzzled. "Logically speaking, Bodhisattva Huaguang should have arrived the day after the Silver-Headed Jiedi delivered the invitation."

The guest has presented a visiting card, so we certainly can't keep the host waiting for long.

Grand Tutor Yu asked, "Bodhisattva Huaguang said he is recruiting soldiers and horses. What does that mean? Could it be that this matter has caused delays?"

Chi Jiu Luo said, "The entire Hengshan Divine Palace is gone, with only some of the gods remaining. If Bodhisattva Huaguang wants to rebuild the pantheon, he will definitely bring a group of trusted confidants to take up their posts together."

"But summoning trusted and beloved generals shouldn't take several days!" "Knock knock knock~~" At this moment, there was a knock on the door, and Xiao Linzi's voice came in.

"Sir, are you available now? A Dragon-Subduing Arhat has come from Heaven and has important business with you."

"The Arhat who subdues dragons, is he from the Heavenly Court?"

Grand Tutor Yu was both surprised and curious. He gave the old monk a wink and immediately got up and went out.

This was the first time she had ever seen the Arhat Subduing Dragon in person.

She had seen quite a few statues and paintings of the Arhat who subdues dragons when she was in the West.

It was just right.

Although it lacks a dragon coiled around its body, its appearance, temperament, and aura of power are remarkably similar to the statue of a deity.

After exchanging greetings, the Arhat Subduing Dragon first looked at Grand Tutor Yu with admiration before praising him, "Grand Tutor Yu has not yet gone to Mount Ling and has not yet received the true Dharma, but his pure and clear Buddha-heart is almost complete."

No wonder the World-Honored One bestowed upon the Grand Preceptor the position of Buddha ahead of schedule.

Xiaoyu's heart stirred, and she asked, "Has the Buddha already granted me a Buddha position? I didn't know that!"

"The World-Honored One proclaims to the Pure Lands of the ten directions that the Grand Tutor is the 'Grand Tutor Buddha of the East.' Once the Grand Tutor arrives at Vulture Peak, he will be crowned immediately," said the Arhat Subduing Dragon.

"Hehe, I've actually become a Buddha." Xiaoyu laughed happily, but also felt empty.

"Congratulations, Grand Tutor, on attaining Buddhahood." The Taoist priests offered their congratulations with strange expressions, all feeling that it was quite unreal.

The Arhat Subduing Dragon said in a low voice, "Grand Tutor, is this a convenient time? I have a secret decree to discuss with you privately."

The Taoist masters immediately took their leave, and even Chi Jiuluo followed the Taoists away, leaving the two of them alone.

"Did the Grand Tutor receive any news from Mount Ling a few days ago? It said that Bodhisattva Huaguang was going to cross the sea to the Central Plains."

"I was battling with several powerful immortals a few days ago, and I just found out about it." Xiaoyu handed him the memorial that the Silver-Headed Jiedi had brought.

Arhat Subduing Dragon glanced at him and sighed, "Grand Tutor, there's no need to wait for Huaguang anymore. He has committed a calamity of killing and has already entered the cycle of reincarnation."

"He was perfectly fine, how could he suddenly commit murder?" Grand Tutor Yu asked in surprise.

—If you're going to commit murder, you should come to China and wade into this mess first!

The moment this thought crossed her mind, a flash of inspiration struck her, and she began to speculate about Hua Guang's impending tribulation.

Jianglong said, "This great calamity of heaven and earth originally had nothing to do with him. But he insisted on entering the calamity and died on his way to Shenzhou."

"Is it because of the divine position in the Hengshan Divine Palace?"

Grand Tutor Yu looked annoyed and exclaimed, "Is Bodhisattva Huaguang stupid? I clearly discussed it with Lingshan and arranged for Jin Chanzi to deliver it. Cough cough, Elder Jin Chanzi has boundless magical power and is exceptionally intelligent."

He is the only suitable candidate to be the master of Hengshan!

—What a pity, what a pity. If it were Jin Chanzi who came, if we had received the news that he had died on the way, how wonderful and happy that would be!

Hua Guang, you've ruined your own life and my plans too!
Grand Tutor Yu was even more frustrated and resentful than when he lost his divine position at Hengshan.

She didn't care about losing her divine position, but she was furious when her plans were interrupted halfway through, as she almost killed Jin Chanzi.

Jianglong gave her a deep look and said meaningfully, "Jin Chanzi is indeed extremely intelligent. After receiving the Grand Tutor's message, the World Honored One Tathagata was very pleased and happy, and immediately ordered Jin Chanzi to take the Buddhist treasures and set off to the East to find the Grand Tutor."

On the surface, Jin Chanzi readily accepted the offer, but he deliberately showed off in front of Ma Shan, even putting on airs as the "Five Sacred Mountains God King".

Ma Shanzao envied the prosperity and bustle of the East and immediately forced Jin Chanzi to abdicate.

The Bodhisattvas and Arhats of the Dipankara Buddha's faction all chimed in, putting pressure on Jin Chanzi, who reluctantly conceded defeat.

Ma Shan, without informing the Buddha, secretly left Mount Ling and recruited demon kings and demon gods in Xiniu Hezhou, declaring that he would establish a mountain stronghold in the Central Plains, unify the Five Sacred Mountains, and become the 'leader' of the Five Sacred Mountains Divine Alliance.

Only after gathering enough helpers did he send the Silver-Headed Jiedi to Xianyang to deliver the message.

As a result, while passing through Pingdingshan, he got into a conflict with a "wild demon king" and was killed on the spot.

Grand Tutor Yu's expression twisted. "Jin Chanzi and Huaguang Bodhisattva are fighting in private, and even Buddha doesn't know? Why doesn't he intervene?"

The Arhat Subduing Dragon's expression also became conflicted. He said, "Grand Tutor is not an outsider either. This humble monk does not need to cover up the shame of Mount Ling. Within Mount Ling, the various sects fight each other, and countless incidents occur every day."

Buddhist disciples also often have verbal disputes, which the Buddha cannot manage; he lets things take their course and does not actively interfere.

"Why did Bodhisattva Huaguang die so easily? If he couldn't win, couldn't he have escaped?" Grand Tutor Yu asked.

If the Buddha allowed his disciples to fight amongst themselves, would he also allow one of them to be beaten to death?
After a moment's hesitation, the Arhat Subduing Dragon secretly transmitted his voice: "That demon king held a red gourd and only called out 'Ma Shan,' and Ma Shan 'Hey,' and was sucked into the gourd and turned into a puddle of pus."

He survived the great calamity of the Investiture of the Gods, yet before he even entered the Divine Continent, he has already met his demise.

Grand Tutor Yu swallowed hard, her pretty face turning pale, and said, "Is it really necessary?"

The Arhat Subduing Dragon pondered and said, "Among the Four Friends of Qionglin, there is a great immortal named Li Futu. His fundamental method is called the 'True Form Diagram of the Five Sacred Mountains.' Does Grand Tutor know about it?"

Xiaoyu not only knew this, but also deduced Li Futu's "Limited Method of Forceful Killing"—that under certain special conditions, such as with the help of the Golden Dragon Scissors, the Immortal Array, or the Great Qin Military Array, it was possible to forcibly kill him.

Relying solely on her own cultivation, she couldn't fully deduce the killing techniques of the Four Friends of Qionglin. This was because her raw strength was insufficient.

With the addition of magical treasures, immortal formations, and military formations, they could kill Li Futu and Dong Ye, but not the other two.

Dong Ye was previously ambushed by Grand Tutor Yu, and his immortal body was destroyed by the Great Yu Divine Cauldron, greatly reducing his strength and leaving him with a fatal flaw, making him relatively easy to kill.

Li Futu's reason for this is because of his fundamental teaching, "The True Form Diagram of the Five Sacred Mountains".

Isn't this just walking right into Yu Taishi's line of fire?
"I heard from Meng Zhenjun what happened to the 'True Form Map of the Five Sacred Mountains'?" Xiaoyu asked.

"The True Form Diagram of the Five Sacred Mountains is the most supreme celestial technique in the Three Realms, passed down directly from the Eight Views Palace, and created by the Dao Ancestor himself," said the Arhat Subduing Dragon in a roundabout way.

"Can't I just give you a warning?" Xiaoyu said.

The Arhat Subduing Dragon said helplessly, "Why wasn't there a warning? Hua Guang left Mount Ling and traveled all the way to Pingdingshan, tens of thousands of miles away, where he went through several trials."

For example, before crossing the Tongtian River, he came across a Taoist temple. He and his demon horde were getting tired from flying, so they went down to ask for a bowl of wine. The old Taoist priest in the temple asked them about their origins and purpose, and Hua Guang proudly told him.

The old Taoist then asked them how they planned to govern the Five Sacred Mountains, and Hua Guang uttered a long string of treasonous and nonsensical words.

The old Taoist priest scolded him and told him to immediately return to Mount Ling.

Enraged, Hua Guang unleashed his Samadhi Divine Fire, reducing the old Taoist priest and his temple to ashes.

"Huaguang Bodhisattva is a Bodhisattva after all, how could he say such nonsense?" Grand Tutor Yu asked curiously.

“Drive away Huang Feihu, let his demon god brother become the mountain god, and let him become the leader of the Five Mountains Alliance.”

The old Taoist asked him how to govern the people, and he replied that he was experienced and that the methods of Mount Ling would suffice. "That's what the Arhat Subduing Dragon said.

"What method does Lingshan use?" Grand Tutor Yu asked again.

The Arhat sighed, "Customs vary from place to place. India is mostly a Buddhist country, and the people and kings are all devout Buddhists."

Grand Tutor Yu was speechless, and his worries subsided slightly.

The old Taoist priest at least gave Hua Guang a chance; Hua Guang brought it upon himself, but she didn't.

Heaven have mercy, she only lured Jin Chanzi to the Central Plains, only to have him bring about his own demise.
