Chapter 1169 The Grand Tutor's Kindness Can Never Be Repaid

Chapter 1169 The Grand Tutor's Kindness Can Never Be Repaid
The Great God Bashe had already attained the status of "Golden Immortal of the Demon Clan," but he had lost the "path" on the road to the Great Luo.

With her knowledge and experience, she could certainly understand the Bodhisattva's words.

"Eight thousand years ago, I met the Bodhisattva for the first time. At that time, the Bodhisattva instructed me not to be discouraged and not to be willful and indulgent because of my demon race status."

For the past eight thousand years, I have always followed the teachings of the Bodhisattva. In addition to cultivating myself and improving myself, I have also diligently fulfilled my duties as the River God, protecting more than a dozen human kingdoms within a radius of tens of thousands of miles.

For eight thousand years, I have worked diligently, and countless living beings have respected the 'Great God Bashe', acknowledging and being grateful for my protection.

"With my merits, shouldn't I be able to gain recognition from humanity?"

The Bodhisattva promised that as long as she took refuge in "Buddha", she would surely have her wishes fulfilled and attain enlightenment.

Now they're talking about humanity and destiny.
The Bodhisattva sighed, “How difficult it is to seek the Great Way! You have only taken the first correct step.”

If your only goal is to attain enlightenment and receive a decree from the Heavenly Court, your current level of cultivation and merit is more than sufficient.

But if you have even greater ambitions, if you wish to attain the Great Luo, your current merits are far from sufficient.

An ordinary Golden Immortal is different from a Great Luo Golden Immortal who has attained enlightenment.

At this time, the Great God Bashe was considered a Golden Immortal among demons, but his path forward was blocked, preventing him from attaining the Great Luo Golden Immortal realm.

Bashe bowed again and pleaded, "Please, Bodhisattva, give me guidance."

The Bodhisattva pondered and said, "You must completely abandon your serpent form and be reborn as a human."

Of course, you're just in a different body, a human body.

The process of being reborn as a human is not inherently a calamity, nor is it particularly difficult.

Just like the great calamity of the Investiture of the Gods, many innate gods were reincarnated in the human world, voluntarily entering the calamity, and finally attaining enlightenment.

This great calamity is a great opportunity for you.

The Great God of Bashe murmured, "I have just taken human form, and I must immediately abandon this body and re-enter the cycle of reincarnation?"
Moreover, this great calamity has been going on for more than ten years.

If I were to be reincarnated as a human now, would it be too late?
As the Bodhisattva just mentioned, the Shu King's daughter, in her present life, is about to face Yu Fengxian and may encounter danger.

The Bodhisattva said, "It doesn't mean you should be reincarnated right now."

You can first accumulate merit to complete this great calamity.

After gaining the fortune of humanity, all the supernatural powers and cultivation of the serpent form are sealed within the primordial spirit, entering reincarnation to be reborn as a human, growing rapidly, and even ascending to immortality.

The Great God Bashe understood now.

Reincarnation as a human is simply changing one's "place of origin," from being a demon to being a human.

Even the bloodline supernatural abilities of the demon race can be extracted from the demon body of the previous life and become the "innate supernatural abilities" of the human body of the next life.

"Taoist cultivation" exists in the form of magical power and wisdom. The magical power is sealed in the primordial spirit, and the wisdom will not be forgotten.

It means that even after reincarnation, one's spiritual cultivation has not diminished at all.

The entire process of reincarnation is free from emotional ties and causal connections; it is simply a change of body.

There is no need for the process of a baby growing into an adult.

Reincarnated with memories intact, upon gaining human form, the magical power within the primordial spirit is immediately unsealed, the body rapidly grows, and the magical power and supernatural abilities are instantly restored to their original state.

Reincarnated today, ascending to heaven in human form tomorrow.

—Could it be that the Heavenly Court has already developed a complete and mature process? Specifically designed to facilitate the attainment of enlightenment by those of different kinds.

The Great God Bashe had some doubts and was a little conflicted.

“Bodhisattva, your disciple’s heart is steadfast in pursuing the Way, but you also have an obsession.”

The princess of Shu saved me, raised me, taught me cultivation, and helped me make a vow—that in the Black Dragon River there is a black snake, which will transform into a dragon and enter the great river. One day I will ascend the Flying Immortal Ferry and enter the Heavenly Palace to become an Immortal King.

The disciple knows that it is difficult for those who are different from others to attain enlightenment.

However, attaining enlightenment as a black dragon has become my obsession.

The Bodhisattva laughed and said, "Foolish child, just because you have a different appearance, you are no longer yourself?"

It should be understood that whether it is the Buddha of Buddhism or the Great Luo of Taoism, one must break through attachment to form and appearance and reach a state of emptiness and non-action.

You can't attain the Great Luo if you don't have this mindset.

"It's better to stop messing around and just settle down as a Golden Immortal of the Demon Clan, getting a job in the Heavenly Court."

"Disciple has learned."

The Great Goddess Bashe still couldn't let go of her obsession, but she also admitted that the Bodhisattva's words made a lot of sense.

She has always been herself.

If she doesn't have this mindset, she shouldn't even think about becoming a great immortal; she'll just be a demon immortal with no future for the rest of her life!
"Bodhisattva, how can I obtain enough human fortune during this great calamity? Should I support the Dragon Court?" the Great God Bashe asked.

The Bodhisattva said softly, "Destiny is predetermined; you'll have to decide what to do."

Since fate and cause and effect have been determined, destiny has also been set.

The Great God Bashe didn't need to ask, nor did the Bodhisattva need to instruct her on what to do.

They neither can nor should they violate the established order of the days.

"This is your karma, your destiny, and your tribulation. What you do is up to you. I can only advise you: do not lose your true self, and do not forget the Great Way."

Leaving behind these words, the auspicious clouds beneath the Bodhisattva's feet carried her and Muzha swiftly into the sky, eventually disappearing before the Great God Bashe.

"Bodhisattva, you haven't given your disciple a name yet!"

The Bashe murmured something, then, in human form, flew a thousand feet above the ground, circling the Shu region and the Liusha River.

Familiar scenery and familiar cities flashed before her eyes.

The various emotions in her heart gradually subsided, and finally she was at peace, without any thoughts or desires.

Goodbye, Flowing Sands Domain, Flowing Sands River~~

She transformed into a streak of light and flew eastward to the ancient land of China to search for the "Shu King's Daughter" with whom she had been separated for ten thousand years.

Five days later, outside the gates of Xianyang, Grand Tutor Yu saw off eighteen vassal kings.

"I have only one request for you: for the next three years, your private property in each of the various fiefdoms can only decrease, not increase."

She looked around at the group of Ying clan members, whose demeanor had become much more composed, and asked, "Do you understand what I mean?"

King Zhao Fusu nodded and said, "Grand Tutor, rest assured, we understand. When we arrive in our fiefdom, we will not exploit the people. Instead, we will distribute the gold and silver we brought to support the court's ten years of benevolent governance and benefit the people."

Xiao Yu nodded slightly and said, "That's right, you must represent the Ying clan and the Great Qin to bestow favors upon the people."

It not only benefits the people by reducing taxes.

Furthermore, in daily local management and government affairs, we should try our best to consider things from the perspective of the people.

For example, punishment.

In chaotic times, severe punishments are necessary, but excessively harsh penalties are completely unnecessary.

It's like deliberately torturing or humiliating someone, intending to cause them permanent disability.

The imperial court will not issue an explicit ban, after all, chaos is coming soon, and you should reduce the use of torture as appropriate.

Only one example is needed to establish a model.

Even if you use harsh measures, you must still earn the people's praise for your benevolence.

This is a technical task, and it is quite difficult. You should listen to the advice of your retainers, and also be open to suggestions. You should recruit more virtuous and talented people from the common people.

Do not be stingy with your rewards. Every year—no, every month—the Western Capital, Xianyang, will send treasures worth 500,000 taels of silver to your fiefdoms. Don't hoard them; spend them all. If you need more, borrow from local powerful families. The more you spend, the better.

Of course, this money shouldn't be spent on yourselves; don't indulge in pleasure.

Jiang Lü sighed, “How could we not know the Grand Tutor’s painstaking efforts? Throughout history, only feudal lords have ever paid tribute to the imperial court.”

The fact that the imperial court is now sending money to the feudal lords, amounting to 500,000 taels a month, is simply unheard of.

We understand the Grand Tutor's good intentions, and we will certainly not let him down.

We've accumulated quite a bit of furniture over the years.

They will all be taken to their fiefdoms this time, and they will spend them as quickly as possible.

“Very good. As long as you can make a living by spending less than you earn and distribute the benefits to the people, I can represent the court and grant you a favor.”

Xiao Yu looked mysterious and lowered her voice, "That is—if things don't go well, you can all surrender to the rebels and follow them to fight against the Qin Dynasty, no problem."

With me here, the Qin Dynasty will not hold you accountable for any of your mistakes.

If you are fortunate enough to return to Guanzhong, you will be rewarded.

"Grand Tutor, rest assured, we will definitely serve the country to the death and will never disgrace the Ying royal family!" The princes were too shocked and thought that Grand Tutor Yu was being sarcastic. They hurriedly expressed their unwavering loyalty.

Xiaoyu said irritably, "If it's a favor, it must be beneficial to you. What kind of favor is it to make you 'swear to die'?"

"As the sons of the late emperor and princes of the Qin Dynasty, isn't it too improper for us to side with the rebels against Qin?" Jiang Lü asked hesitantly.

"I ask you, are you going out here to enjoy yourself, or to protect the Second Emperor of Xingyang and safeguard the foundation of the Qin Dynasty?" Xiao Yu asked.

Without hesitation, all the feudal lords immediately shouted in loud voices: "Defend Xingyang and protect Great Qin!"

“Since that’s the case, even if you haven’t made any great contributions, you have still put in a lot of effort. You’ve done right by your status and by the ancestors of the Ying clan. You can surrender now without worry,” Xiao Yu said.

The princes still found it strange that the Grand Tutor of the country advised them to surrender when faced with great calamity.

However, they understood Grand Tutor Yu's good intentions.

After seeing off the princes, Xiaoyu was getting a little tired of staying in Xianyang.

That afternoon, at the headquarters of the Imperial Astronomical Bureau at Heibingtai.

Hundreds of celestial masters gathered together.

Grand Tutor Yu said, "After the matter in Xianyang is settled, I must continue to the southeast to dredge and reconstruct the ley lines of the Central Plains."

Before I leave, there are three things I need to arrange.

First, there are the corpses of the giant Kun and the celestial Peng that fell to the banks of the Wei River during the recent Mount Hua Dao Forum.

After several days of hard work by the former Imperial Astronomical Bureau masters, they finally managed to completely dismantle the body.

Those skilled in alchemy are requested to cooperate with Master Ge in refining them into Bigu Pills.

"Try not to waste materials; even low-grade fasting pills are of great use to the imperial court."

She glanced at the newly appointed Celestial Masters and said, "In the Celestial Master Competition, many fellow Daoists have earned a point through alchemy. This time, I'll have to trouble you."

"Grand Master Yu, rest assured, now that we've joined the Imperial Observatory, we'll definitely have to do our work," a "Civilian Master" called out.

Xiaoyu nodded slightly and said, "The second thing is even more important. Today is the second day of the sixth lunar month, which is a critical period for grain growth."

However, disasters have occurred in various parts of China, with some areas experiencing drought and others flooding.

The Imperial Astronomical Bureau came into play.

The Weather Bureau, Master Guan.

"Your subordinate is here!" Master Guan stepped forward and replied.

"Take Qiu Mingzi, Jin Zhong, Jin Guang, and Jin Long with you and, referring to the Divine Land Landscape Map, adjust the rainfall in various regions," Xiao Yu said.

Guan Zhenren turned his head to look at Qiu Mingzi and the other three.

Jin Zhongjin, Jin Guangjinlong, looked honest and kept nodding.

Akiko remained expressionless and did not object.

"Thank you for your trouble, fellow Daoists." He took the initiative to bow to the four of them.

Xiaoyu continued, "The last thing is only related to 'Martial Master'."

When the martial arts masters chose to compete in the divine arts and magic, they personally promised that in the face of the crisis in the Great Qin Dynasty, the Grand Master could not just sit in the Imperial Observatory, but also had to learn from Wen Zhong of the Yin Shang Dynasty, to lead troops into battle and quell the rebellion.

Words spoken in public are witnessed by Heaven and Earth, and heard by gods and men; they are like oaths of Heaven, which cannot be violated.

I don't want you to be the commanders.

Whenever an urgent report comes from the front, you must go and deal with the rebel army's immortal masters.

There is no need to engage in battles with military formations or kill ordinary soldiers.

There's no need for warriors to kill enemies; simply driving the enemy immortals away from the battlefield is enough to complete the mission.

"You guys should be fine, right?"

No one agreed, and no one objected.

Regardless of their thoughts, the more than five hundred martial arts masters all maintained solemn expressions, with no obvious emotions on their faces.

Xiaoyu took it as their agreement.

"Yang Li, you will be in charge of this matter. If a battle report comes from Xingyang, the Eastern Capital, you will discuss with the Grand Commandant what type of immortal master is needed and what kind of enemy they are facing, and then select a suitable person from among the martial immortal masters."

This prompted a reaction from the martial arts masters.

They exchanged glances, seemingly reaching a consensus, before Lu Jingang spoke up, asking, "Grand Tutor Yu, are we still allowed to leave the Imperial Observatory freely after three months?"

If they can end their duties as celestial masters in three months.

When the Qin front is in dire need of them and they are needed as cannon fodder, they can immediately resign and leave!

Xiaoyu shook her head and said, "None of you can resign from your positions as Celestial Masters after three months."

The newly appointed Celestial Masters were excited.

"Grand Tutor Yu, you can't go back on your word!"

"On that day atop Mount Hua, you made a promise in public, witnessed by heaven and earth, heard by gods and men. Your words were like an oath of heaven, which cannot be broken."

Xiaoyu said in a deep voice, "Of course my promise won't change. But what did I say back then? At least three months, right? Do I need to explain what 'at least three months' means?"

Lu Jin Gong frowned and said, "Could it be that Grand Tutor Yu is playing word games?"

Xiaoyu shook her head and said, "I never play word games, nor would I deliberately lie to people."

If you simply stay in the Imperial Observatory, work diligently, and don't take any benefits, you will only need to serve the Qin Dynasty for three months.

Three months later, you may choose to stay or leave as you see fit.

But how much benefit have you received from the Qin Dynasty these past few days?

Have you studied the Nine Tripods of the Qin Dynasty?

Are you copying the true form of the Qin Dynasty one after another, like hungry ghosts, without sleep or rest?

And the Epang Palace, the most magnificent palace in the world, did you get to enjoy it?

The palace maids and pageboys, the various fine wines and treasures, aren't you having a great time?
By the way, some of you have even acquired properties in Xianyang. Shouldn't you be even more grateful to the Great Qin?
