Chapter 459: Opportunity for a Decisive Battle

Chapter 459: Opportunity for a Decisive Battle
……

One month later.

War supplies transfer station galaxy.

Angron, Perturabo, and Lorgar, the three Primarchs stood on the hangar deck of the Resolute Resolve waiting for the three newly arrived Primarchs.

Curze and Mortarion, these two Primarchs are normal people, so their appearance is ordinary, just walking down from the transport plane.

Number 11 is very different.

From the transport plane where the 11th Legion landed, the dark hatch fell with a bang, and then the 11th Primarch slowly crawled out of the cabin.

Angron saw his brother, whose skin was so white that his veins and organs were visible, completely naked, crawling out from the cabin wall like a gecko.

Every time Angron saw his brother, he felt uncomfortable.

Following No. 11 were several chapter commanders of the 11th Legion.

In the 11th Legion, the combat organization at the regiment level is called the battle group, and the combat organization at the squad level is called the small group.

The company commander does not have his own name, only a code-named title such as Command Individual No. xx.

When the dozen or so command individuals walked out of the cabin, those present realized why Primarch No. 11 curled up his body and crawled out - because he wanted to use a transport plane and the least amount of fuel to complete the journey to the Resolute Resolve.

Meets the high efficiency required by No. 11.

After meeting his brothers, No. 11 did not say hello because he felt that everyone knew each other and the meaningless etiquette steps could be skipped.

"Lorgar, my seventeenth brother." Number 11 crawled towards Lorgar.

When Lorgar saw No. 11 for the first time, his face turned pale, and Kor Phaeron beside him also had a look of disgust.

Number 11's slender limbs gradually stretched out as he crawled and stood up, coming to a position ten meters away from Lorgar.

"I want to ask your priests to go to my legion and preach the faith of the God-Emperor." Number 11 imitated Kor Phaeron's disgusted expression. "I heard that your adoptive father is the best preacher."

"Please allow me to give this honor to Erebus." Kor Phaeron quickly refused. "Erebus is a more pious and eloquent person than I am."

"Wait." Lorgar frowned and asked, "Why are you curious about the belief in the God-Emperor?"

Although No. 11 looked scary, Lorgar still smiled from the bottom of his heart after hearing the invitation to spread the faith.

The other brothers were very resistant to this.

"Because I believe that the Faith in the God-Emperor can enhance the cohesion and combat effectiveness of mankind." Number 11 imitated the friendly smile on Lorgar's face. "The Imperial Truth is a lie just like the Faith in the God-Emperor. It is a pure spiritual weapon. So why don't we choose the more useful lie and spiritual weapon?"

The smile on Luo Jia's face disappeared instantly.

"I have no hostility, please do not mistake this for a provocation. I am sincere. If you agree, then I thank you and will try to return the favor. Thank you. I appreciate it." No. 11 explained, then walked past his brothers and went to the command deck.

The naval officer on the Resolute Resolve tried his best not to show his disgust as he silently led No. 11 to the command deck.

"You and Number Eleven, two freaks." Mortarion walked towards Lorgar and deliberately pushed him away. "It's going to be a good show next."

……

Command deck.

The Primarchs gathered around the star map.

Angron announced the strategic plan that he, Perturabo, and Lorgar had discussed earlier.

Since Horus and the other brothers who did not come here will join the Emperor in the war, they are responsible for the advancement of the entire front, so it will take some time for them to arrive and join the battle.

Angron believed that his and his five current brothers' mission was to serve as pioneers.

The six legions will go deep into the Ullanor Empire, eliminate those powerful warlords, establish supply lines, and provide convenience as much as possible for subsequent participating legions.

A portion of the Iron Warriors and the World Eaters Chapters will stay behind to guard the newly opened supply line star systems, such as the unnamed transit station star system where the various legions are now located.

"and many more."

After Angron, Perturabo, and Lorgar briefly explained their plan, Mortarion raised his hand in question as expected.

"The commander of the Great Crusade is the Emperor. I want to know whether this strategic plan was ordered by the Emperor or you came up with it on your own."

Hearing the questioning voice, Perturabo immediately refuted: "The Emperor is not at the forefront, not in this galaxy, the specific strategy should be formulated by ourselves."

"But why is it Angron who gives the orders?" Mortarion frowned. "No one else has the same question as me?"

The Lord of the Death Guard scanned the faces of each of his brothers.

"The commander of the last Prospero joint operation was Rogal Dorn, but the command inexplicably fell to Angron. I didn't realize something was wrong until I returned to the front line of the Great Crusade."

The three Primarchs who were previously in the transit station system had apparently united their forces.

Therefore, Mortarion was looking at Curze. As for Number 11, Mortarion didn't count on him at all.

But Curze said nothing. His close follower Sevatar coughed lightly to signal the Primarch to say something, but Curze still said nothing.

"A group of beasts will naturally choose a leader. It is the survival experience of animals to act under the unified command of a leader." Eleven said, "There is another survival experience, that is, the minority obeys the majority. I support Angron."

Angron sensed Mortarion.

Mortarion did not want to take command or simply dislike the twelfth brother, but wanted to put the things that everyone had agreed on on the table for discussion and formalization.

In this way, it would be clear who would issue the strategic plan and who would be responsible for it, so that the various legions would not have to argue with each other after something happened, or everyone would fall into internal friction due to conflicts when the war encountered setbacks. At the same time, Mortarion also hoped that Angron would become the commander, because Angron performed well in the last joint operation of Prospero, and no one died at the hands of his compatriots in that conflict that was almost equivalent to a civil war.

The only unsatisfactory thing about the joint operation was that no one had yet figured out whether it was the Death Guard that attacked the Thousand Sons first, or vice versa.

“Let’s vote by show of hands,” Angron said.

"Raise your hands if you support Angron." Perturabo raised his arm immediately.

All the Primarchs except Mortarion and Curze raised their hands.

"I believe in the majority rule." Mortarion nodded.

Coz raised his hand: "I just hope it's quick."

A data archive was then created on the command deck of the Resolute, and each Primarch signed the archive with a digital signature, confirming Angron as the organizer and person in charge of the military operation.

"Brothers, please gather all the senior officers so that we can announce something together." Angron requested the brothers in a gentle tone.

The Primarchs gave orders to the entourage that brought the World Eaters flagship, and then officers from each legion arrived one after another and went to the strategy room on the side of the command deck.

After everyone arrived, the primarchs also entered the strategic room.

The only exception is Koz.

The Primarch of the Night Lords Legion walked sullenly in the opposite direction of his brothers, passed through the gate, and left amid the puzzled gazes of the Night Lords officers who had just entered the command deck.

"Father." Sevatar immediately ran to Curze and tried to stop the Primarch.

But Curze did not stop, and Sevatar had to speak frankly: "The specific battle plan may be announced next. The Lord of the Twelve Legions will assign specific responsibilities to each of our legions and the glory we can win. You should go back to the strategic room and speak for our legion!"

With a gloomy face, Koz pushed Sevatar away and disappeared into the shadow of the corridor.

Sevatar took a deep breath, feeling dissatisfied but also sympathetic to the Primarch, because as the number one figure in the Night Lords after the Primarch, he knew why the Primarch had become so cold and gloomy.

With Curze gone, Sevatar was left with the choice of speaking for the glory of the Night Lords himself... in front of the senior officers of the other legions and their Gene-Fathers present.

"I hope Angron is worthy of the Primarch's trust, otherwise the Eighth Legion will be marginalized."

Angron, standing on the command deck and looking at Sevatar, heard the core member of the Night Lords say this in his mind.

……

After a while.

Strategic interior.

Angron repeated the strategic plan he had shared with his brothers earlier, and then proposed a specific battle plan in front of the Primarchs and senior leaders of the various legions.

"In previous intelligence gathering operations, we discovered that the Blood Axe Clan is advancing rapidly in the Ullanor Empire. Their existence has attracted the attention of the Ullanor Empire. Many warlords have been transferred to a star system called Krako. The Ullanor aliens' plan is simple, which is to completely annihilate the Blood Axe Clan in Krako."

"The Blood Axe Clan must be heading to Krako because that is their homeland and the primary target they want to achieve when they go to war against their own kind."

"The decisive battle between the two alien forces will take place in Krako, and we will fight all the way to Krako and participate in the decisive battle in time."

The Primarchs and officers present thought about it and realized that Krako was indeed the place they had to go, because there were too many warlords of the Ullanor Empire gathered there. Even if they could only kill half of the warlords in that greenskin decisive battle, it would deal a heavy blow to the Ullanor Empire.

"We can't all gather together and attack Krako one system at a time, so I propose to form six detachments and one main fleet."

"The navy and army forces of the main fleet will be composed of elite troops from each corps."

"The naval and land forces of the squadron will be composed of non-elite troops from each corps."

"In addition, arrange for some Space Marines and auxiliary troops to stay behind in the captured galaxies to establish supply lines or void defense lines."

Angron's words were rather general, but the details should have been decided by the Primarchs through brainstorming. After this meeting of the legions was over, each legion would discuss and decide for themselves which personnel would go to the main force or detachment fleet, and which ones would stay behind.

"Not all of the Fourth Legion will be left behind." Angron looked at Perturabo and all the Iron Warriors leaders behind him. "In this war, no legion will be absent from the fight for merit and glory."

The Iron Warriors, who had been responsible for the most arduous and unknown battles in the Great Crusade, were naturally very happy. The Iron Warriors no longer had to stay in one place like fools while other legions were fighting bloody battles with the aliens and making achievements. The Iron Warriors, who were famous for their positional warfare, could also participate in the attack.

Sevatar was quite worried about the Night Lords, the only legion without a Primarch present. The Night Lords were not good at defense, so they should not stay in any captured star system to participate in the defense. But it was a pity that the Primarch was not present, otherwise he could have directly raised the issue.

"By the way, the Midnight Lords will not be involved in any defense matters. They will form a decapitation combat force, and all of them will engage in the decapitation combat that they are best at and most effective in the detachment and main fleet." Angron said.

Sevatar exhaled, stood up and saluted.

"Curze is not doing well. I will go see him after the meeting." Angron said, "But I need you, the Night Lords, to vote on the matter on behalf of the Primarch."

When Sevatar was wondering what Angron would do, Angron named several high-ranking members of the Night Lords and said, "You will form a temporary voting committee that fully represents the Night Lords Legion. You will decide on your own attitude and opinions and make your own proposals. The committee will exist until Curze can normally exercise his power as the commander of the Legion."

Angron looked around at all of his brothers in the strategy room. All of them.

“Now it’s time for discussion.”

The Primarchs then made suggestions one after another, and the Night Lords Legion also participated in the discussion normally in the absence of Curze.

When Sevatar suggested that the logistics of the Night Lords Legion needed the help of other legions to maintain, Angron readily accepted and stated that the World Eaters would take on the logistics of the Night Lords.

Under Angron's special arrangement, the Space Marine members of the Night Lords Provisional Council played the same role as when the Primarch was present, and no request was ignored due to the Primarch's absence.

The meeting ended successfully.

The Primarchs led their offspring away from the Resolute Resolve and went back to arrange the details.
