Chapter 212 Fundamental True Skill

Chapter 213 Fundamental True Skill (5k)

"Bodhi Sutra" is the secret method of Buddhism.

"Dust-brushing Qi" is the secret method of Taoism.

Both have their own characteristics and the effects are similar.

One focuses on "non-stick" and the other focuses on "cleaning".

After Qing Tiancang finished his introduction, he asked:

"Which secret technique do you want to learn?"

Lu Chenzhou thought for a moment and said:

"The Bodhi Sutra, right?"

He wanted to choose all of them, but his time and energy were limited.

Shi Ruyu suddenly said:

"It sounds like the "Dust-Brushing Qi" is a Taoist method, even more ethereal and otherworldly."

Ji Xuanyan also nodded in agreement:
"I also feel that after mastering the skill, my junior brother's temperament may be as ethereal as those born with the Tao, who are not bothered by the mundane world... He must be very popular with women."

Ji Xuantong said:
"You don't understand. Chen Zhou is a person with a predestined relationship with Buddha. Otherwise, it would be difficult for him to achieve great success in the Arhat Technique and the Golden Body Technique in such a short period of time. I suspect that Chen Zhou is a [born son of Buddha], which is also a kind of martial bone Taoist fetus."

Although what Lao Ji said was a bit of bragging, he was also right.

Lu Chenzhou also wanted to learn "Dust-brushing Qi", but he had no foundation in Taoist martial arts. As a secret method of true skill, it would be very difficult to learn.

But he has a good foundation in Buddhism.

At the very least, the Buddha Wisdom special effect of Arhat Kungfu should be of some use. What he lacks most now is time, so naturally he has to do it as simply and efficiently as possible.

Qingtian Cang said:

"Well, the Bodhi Sutra is indeed relatively suitable for you. Buddhist martial arts, if you master one method, you will understand all methods. It is always good to have some Buddhist foundation..."

Lu Chenzhou asked:

"Master, who should I learn this secret method from?"

Qing Tiancang thought about it and decided to put aside the master who was like a dragon that could not be seen from head to tail.

There is only one person in this branch who knows "Bodhi Sutra".

He smiled helplessly:
"Chen Jiu..."

Lu Chenzhou was surprised and said:

"Okay, I'll ask Teacher Chen some other day."

Chen Jiu, how come you know everything?

……

The next day, July 4st.

Lu Chenzhou practiced "Five Tiger Palms" at home.

Although this martial art is based on fist and foot skills, each move is similar to sword techniques. Using the hands as swords, one can swipe, chop, wipe, stomp, split, collapse, hook, and hang...

Open and close vigorously, and split Mount Hua with all your strength.

Lu Chenzhou used the wooden stake as an imaginary enemy, and slashed it across with his palm shining with black light. This time, it already had some of the appearance of a sword technique, and its force was like an iron chain blocking a river!

Whoosh!
As the wooden stake broke, Lu Chenzhou changed his right hand and it soared into the sky, slashing upwards. An invisible gust of wind tore through the void, causing the chandelier on the ceiling to swing back and forth.

Five Tiger Palms·Breaking Air Strike!

Then, after the palm knife reached its peak momentum, it continued to sink, like a dragon clearing the clouds, a tiger leaping over a mountain, the airflow was separated, and ripples spread out in both directions. The secret book on the ground moved without wind, rustling, and the smoke and dust formed a trend of splitting in the middle.

Lu Chenzhou's mind kept replaying the battle with Ouyang Qing that day. Unconsciously, a leaf on the martial arts tree began to glow.

【Good luck in mind can make you achieve twice the result with half the effort! 】

[Five Tiger Palms: Proficient (24%) → Proficient (30%)]

……

[Five Tiger Palms: Proficient (96%) → Mastered (1%)]

……

[Five Tiger Palms: Mastery (99%) → Minor Success (1%)]

The light of the leaves dimmed, and Lu Chenzhou also finished his boxing class for the day.

"Minor Success of Five Tiger Palms..."

Once the blessing comes to mind, practicing this third-rate boxing method is really a dimensionality reduction attack, breaking through several realms in a row. In this way, a new divine seed can be condensed by the end of the month.

"This Five Tiger Palm is indeed the prerequisite martial art for the Five Tiger Life-Severing Sword. I am obviously practicing boxing, but I feel that my sword skills are improving."

Xiangxingquan has six realms of boxing theory, which are also found in sword, knife, spear and other martial arts, but their boxing theories are somewhat different from Xiangxingquan.

Taking swordsmanship as an example, the six realms of swordsmanship are:

Sword shape, sword momentum, sword intent, sword principle, sword bone, sword heart!
Sword skills also belong to these six realms, and the name is changed to sword. If you understand the meaning of military fighting martial arts, you will also have the hope of communicating with the Heavenly Heart Seal and echoing with the ancient sages.

"What a pity that the White Tiger Breaking Army Spear has no prerequisite martial arts, otherwise I would have to learn a third-rate tiger-shaped spear technique first. It seems that my journey to becoming a spear god will take some time. At the very least, I have to wait until the Heavenly Fate Black Tiger is promoted to the fourth-level divine species."

Lu Chenzhou looked at the leaves of "Golden Body Skill".

"It's almost done... Hopefully it will be completed early next year."

If you can do it, it will take more than two years to master the Golden Body Skill.

According to Chen Jiu, if this is true, then Lu Chenzhou's talent in horizontal training is even better than Lu Fang's, and Lu Fang is already the best horizontal trainer in Jiangnan!

Ding-ling-ling—the caller ID of Li Gui.

Lu Chenzhou answered the phone.

"Teacher, what's wrong?"

These days, because Lu Chenzhou only practiced Tianzhuang and internal skills, Li Gui was freed from it. Apart from occasionally coming to give some advice on internal skills practice, he seldom attended classes.

However, he was still concerned about Lu Chenzhou's cultivation of true skills.

Li Gui asked:

"Chen Zhou, you have been promoted to a martial artist for a while. Although you can use ordinary martial arts to make the transition in the early stage... However, the power difference between ordinary martial arts and real boxing is huge. If you have time, quickly practice the "Tiger Roaring Mountain and River Fist". When you have almost understood the boxing theory, come to me to learn the "Tiger Controlling Mountain and River Fist."

Li Gui discovered that Lu Chenzhou didn't seem to be in a hurry at all.

As a teacher, he must supervise from a responsible perspective.

Lu Chenzhou thought for a moment and said:

"Teacher, I understand. But I have been studying some common martial arts recently. I have a feeling that if I can master them, my boxing theory level may be able to go further, and even reach the fourth level [Understanding the Theory], which is not impossible.

When I break through the realm of boxing theory, I want to try to use my understanding and the tiger form attainments I have learned to create a real-level boxing method to use as a means to fight the enemy."

Li Gui was silent for a moment and said:
"Um...Chen Zhou, understanding the principles can create true martial arts. But there are two points that I want to explain to you in advance. First, understanding the principles can only create lower-level true martial arts. And this is only the most basic condition, not all.

Every new true skill that can be called completely [original] requires countless efforts, extraordinary understanding, and a kind of mysterious destiny that brings the support of heaven and earth. This kind of true skill is called [fundamental true skill].

Let me take the tiger faction as an example.

There have been many martial artists born throughout history, right? Among the hundreds of forms, although the Tiger form has few top-level masters, the number of martial artists is undoubtedly the first.

But up to now, including other schools, there are only eighteen sets of tiger-form martial arts in the world, namely the upper, middle and lower levels of [Fundamental True Skills], known as the [Eighteen True Tigers], and there are only eight sets of dragon-form, which are the so-called [Eighteen True Tigers].

The seven parts of the phoenix shape are commonly known as the "Seven Methods of the True Phoenix".

Some unpopular pictographic factions only have one or two [fundamental true skills]. Therefore, many factions do not even have a martial arts master because their fundamental true skills are too weak.

As for the [Fundamental Divine Skills], I only have three in my tiger form.

This is not only true for real skills and magical powers, but also for ordinary martial arts. The reason why you feel that your understanding of boxing theory is improving quickly in the early stages of learning ordinary martial arts is because you are a blank slate and you have mastered too few martial arts. But once you have mastered more of the basic tiger-form martial arts, you will gradually discover that other martial arts seem to be almost the same, or even just different arrangements of the same routine techniques, and you will find them boring.

Therefore, most geniuses, after becoming grandmasters, would go back to observe the ordinary martial arts of their own faction, trying all the methods, and slowly look for the personal wisdom that different martial artists added to it, just like panning for gold in the sand, accumulating bit by bit.

Why is it said that "if you master one method, you will master all methods"? One important reason is that the fundamental martial arts of each boxing school and faction are just a few. Many other methods are derived and changed on the basis of them, and the difference is not much.

Our Longcheng is known as the "Thousand Volumes of True Kung Fu", but in fact it is just for the sake of sounding good, and some martial arts that some martial artists have added some original ideas to are included in the list.

How could there be so many peerless talents who could open up and create true skills? In the old days, those who could create fundamental true skills were all powerful pioneers of the Dao! These people were born with a celestial understanding, and their boxing theories were well-versed in ancient and modern times. There were too few of them, and there are not many now.

Of course, if you have other considerations and think you are right, just believe in your own path. Even though I am your teacher, I don’t fully understand you. ”

Li Gui's words were very tactful.

Every genius has pride.

The geniuses are not fools, they must have their reasons for doing this.

Although he is a teacher, he can only give advice. Lu Chenzhou was very moved and said:

"Teacher, don't worry, I believe in myself."

Everything the teacher said was right.

But the teacher misunderstood what he meant.

As a fledgling martial artist, how could he dare to create a fundamental true skill, or even ordinary martial arts? He just wanted to integrate and learn, to be a "porter", or what the teacher said, to add some "innovation" and claim to be his own true skill.

It was difficult to be a porter. To be able to integrate something new into the real martial arts, one must have a solid foundation in martial arts. That was why he had to continue learning ordinary martial arts until he mastered the basic martial arts of the tiger form, and stopped when the routines became too repetitive.

According to the Martial Arts Tree, after mastering the fundamental martial arts, it is no longer possible to comprehend new divine seeds of other repetitive and slightly original martial arts.

Then there is no need for Lu Chenzhou to continue fighting.

If it were someone else, it would be difficult to create non-fundamental true skills. But Lu Chenzhou had the martial arts tree, enough divine seeds, and his boxing theory had reached the fourth level, so he would definitely succeed!
Seeing Lu Chenzhou's firm tone, Li Gui smiled and said:
"Okay, I believe you, just follow your own path."

……

Practice room.

The passionate fight ended.

Chen Jiu looked at Lu Chenzhou's increasingly perfect body.

After a moment, he looked away.

"Amazing... It's almost done. It will definitely be completed within three years. If everything goes well, it may be completed in two years. You really are constantly refreshing my knowledge."

"Thank you for the compliment, teacher. I have something to ask..."

"explain."

"I heard that the teacher knows a secret method called 'Bodhi Jue', which can prevent breath contamination and thus avoid the breath tracking of some enemies."

"That's right. I have been on exchange at Songshan Martial Arts University for many years. I can be considered a half-Shaolin disciple, so I have mastered a lot of Buddhist martial arts... However, the Bodhi Sutra is a real skill-level secret method, and it is also a Shaolin secret martial art. I can master it because I am an exchange student. Without the approval of the school's Grandmaster Committee, I cannot teach it privately."

"I understand."

"You go back today. I'll call my friend at Songshan Wuda University and ask him to ask the Grandmaster Committee for you to see if there's any leniency."

"Then thank you for your help, teacher. I will pay the price."

After leaving Chen Jiu's house, Lu Chenzhou looked as usual.

This secret method is best learned.

If you can’t learn...then try Taoism.

In the training room, Chen Jiu pondered to himself: "Why did this kid suddenly want to learn this kind of unconventional secret method? Could it be that he was bullied in Longhu Mountain?"

The lady held the child and said worriedly:

"Maybe he was targeted by the cultists."

Chen Jiu felt anxious and said:
"Then I have to contact Songshan as soon as possible. Chen Zhou is now a martial artist. The school's protection is weaker, and his safety when he goes out is a problem. This "Bodhi Jue" is indeed a good thing. Combined with the "Tiger Demon Tai Sui Gong" taught by Li Gui, when Chen Zhou has mastered it, he can easily save his life even if he faces the Void King."

The lady asked:

"Are you trying to contact Zen Master Mingxin?"

Chen Jiu smiled bitterly:
"Yeah... who else should I look for?"

The lady pondered for a moment and said:
"Okay, but it's hard to repay a Grandmaster's favor... What's more, this is not just an ordinary Grandmaster, but a master of both inner and outer cultivation, Thunder King Kong Mingxin."

In the Henglian world, there has always been a saying called [Northern King Kong, Southern Road Fang], which refers to two people, one of whom is Lei Jingang Mingxin from Songshan Wuda.

The other one is Lu Fang, the evil leader of Jiangnan University of War.

Both of them were very young, but they have achieved martial arts masters through both internal and external cultivation. Lei Jingang was successfully promoted to martial arts grandmaster in the past few years and became a grandmaster of horizontal training. As for Lu Fang, although there is no public news, the lady also learned from Chen Jiu that Lu Fang also became a grandmaster last year. These two can be said to be competing with each other from a distance.

Lei Jingang's horizontal training mainly focuses on Buddhist hard qigong. Lu Fang's is more mixed, with Buddhism and Western fighting techniques, but his main focus is Wudang hard qigong.

That's why Madam has some concerns.

The husband is not looking for an ordinary person.

This favor is not light.

Chen Jiudao:
"I hope Mingxin will help me because we played in the mud together... Chen Zhou is a martial arts genius, and he will repay this favor in the future!"

The lady covered her mouth and laughed:

"That's fine, I'll owe you this favor first."

……

The next day.

Today is the weekly routine meeting of the masters of Songshan Wuda. Monks with a majestic aura, some with long eyebrows and beards, and some with white faces and no beards, sit here.

The one who presided over this meeting was the Grand Master, Tuotian Toudao.

As the discussion of important matters came to an end, a young monk in a white robe, who looked to be in his forties, stood up and said softly:
"Master, I have something else to ask."

Tuotian Tou Tuo looked at the white-robed monk and smiled slightly.

"What's the matter?"

The white-robed monk was Zen Master Mingxin, whose real name was Li Qi.

He was Chen Jiu's childhood friend, and the two had a very good relationship when they were young. But as his talent was revealed, his cultivation broke through rapidly and he was soon promoted to Grandmaster. The huge gap in cultivation level created an invisible barrier, and Master Mingxin was powerless to do anything about it. Strength is like a natural chasm, and it will always unconsciously separate relatives and friends. It is inevitable.

Ming Xin Dao:
"I have a friend in Sucheng Longwu who wants to apply for permission to teach the Bodhi Sutra and pass this secret method to his student...Longcheng Chief Lu Chenzhou."

Hearing this, Tuotian Tou Tuo looked around at the other Grandmasters and said with a smile:

"What do you think? I think it's fine."

If it was anyone else, Tuotian Tou Tuo would have to think about it, but since it was the young man he met on Huangshan that day, there was no problem. The great master later heard that Lu Chenzhou's progress in the "Eighteen Arhats Golden Body Skill" was faster than Lu Fang's, and he was very happy.

He knew that this boy had a connection with Buddhism!

The old monk was born a Buddhist and his judgment of wisdom is very accurate!
Seeing that the Grand Master agreed, most of the Grand Masters echoed:

“We think so too.”

"agree."

But there are also masters who cautiously say:

“Senior, this secret method is at the level of true skill after all… If it is casually passed on to other schools, especially the head of Dragon City, it always feels a bit wrong.”

Tuotian Toudao said:
"Buddha saves all living beings. If the chief of Dragon City can really master the Bodhi Sutra, it means that he has a predestined relationship with Buddha and wisdom. No matter where he is, he will be a predestined person of our Buddhist sect in the future... There is no need to have so many sectarian views."

Seeing this, the Grand Master also laughed and said:
"Thank you for your guidance, Grandmaster. I understand... I have no objection."

……

night.

Lu Chenzhou came to Chen Jiu's house for training as usual.

After the fight was over, Chen Jiu said:
"Don't you want to learn the Bodhi Sutra? I have asked Songshan Wuda for you, no problem... But I asked Grandmaster Tuolei Jin Gang to do this. If you meet him in the future, you can thank him in person and return the favor."

"Master Lei Jingang, Mingxin?"

"Yes, he is the true disciple of Tuotian Tou Tuo."

"Okay, students understand. How much is the tuition fee?"

"Songshan doesn't charge any fees, and neither do I. I am only responsible for guiding you to get started. This secret method is not difficult to practice, and you can practice it on your own on a daily basis. However, the spiritual and qi-related secret methods are generally easy to learn but difficult to master. Daxia martial arts is about cultivating the spirit, qi, and mind at the same time, unlike Posa, which specializes in the mind. It will definitely be difficult to learn in the early stages."

"Thank you, teacher. I am mentally prepared."

Chen Jiu said seriously:
"This secret method cultivates the illusory [Bodhi Wonderful Tree Qi]. In essence, it allows you to control the breath and energy you emit. After practicing it, not only can you avoid being contaminated by evil energy and avoid being tracked by some low-level evil methods, but you can also learn a skill similar to the turtle's breathing, which makes you as quiet as an old turtle and restrain your momentum, so that you can better conceal your whereabouts. Unless someone is much higher than your realm, it will be difficult for them to find you if they don't sense you carefully. Therefore, it can also be a method of saving your life or assassination, and it has infinite uses."

When Lu Chenzhou heard this, he was delighted.

This secret method was exactly what he wanted.

Your safety will be greatly improved when you walk outside in the future.

Chen Jiudao:
"The secret method of the Bodhi Sutra has only four levels, namely [There is no Bodhi tree], [A bright mirror is not a stand], [Originally there is nothing], [Where can dust gather]... These four levels are progressive. When you practice to the fourth level, your body will be like a Bodhi tree, your energy will be like a bright mirror, and you will not be affected by cause and effect, will not be affected by dust, and will be able to escape from trouble!"

"Have you mastered it, teacher?"

“I’m still on the second floor.”

"It seems that the secret method is indeed difficult."

"Yes... But the main reason is that I teach in school and rarely go out, so it is naturally difficult for me to attract the dust of karma, and I don't have much need for this secret method. You are a beginner in martial arts, and you often need to go out for training. You can first complete the first level and achieve the [Small Bodhi Body]. If you only want to deal with martial arts level enemies, it is enough."
