Above the mage!

Chapter 93 [Remarks on the launch]

Chapter 93 [Remarks on the launch]

Important thing to say: it will be on the shelves tomorrow!
This is my buddy’s second book. To be honest, he can be considered an experienced author, but to be honest, I was still a little confused when I first wrote a new book.

After all, the overall journey of the previous swordsman was a bit bumpy. It was published directly, and it was eliminated in the first round of the new book period. It took four months of hard work before it was put on the shelves. This mage book can be said to have gone through the new book process.

Overall, I have a lot of feelings and a lot to say.

Authors, even if they are just online writers, should have a strong desire to express themselves.

But I also know that my brothers are here to read novels and are not interested in my rambling nonsense, so I usually reduce my presence.

The posting remarks are one of the few opportunities for the author to speak for himself in a reasonable manner, so I will take this opportunity to say a few more words:

1. "Above the Mage!" will be an excellent story.

His grades are obviously not that good and his writing is obviously a mess, how dare you say that?

Nothing else.

Because I really like this story.

So it's a great story for me.

Nothing else, I just like it.

Similarly, because I like it, I will try my best to finish writing this story.

2. Title of the book.

The original title of the book should not have this "!", it should be called "Above the Mage".

But "Above the Mage" is taken, so I can only add a "!".

It was annoying at first, but when I thought about it carefully, I couldn't use this book title without it.

So after a long time, you won’t be annoyed anymore.

3. About the style of the book
First of all, although the background is Western fantasy, this is because the mage and the Western fantasy background are a natural match. If you change to any other background, it would be too mixed.

However, when I was writing, I did not deliberately make the words and sentences fit the Western fantasy, nor did I deliberately avoid Chinese words.

The reason is very simple. Since it is written for Chinese readers, there is no need to raise the reading threshold.

And this world was created by me, so I legally have the final right of interpretation.

I even tried my best to lower the reading threshold that might be created by the Western fantasy background. For example, for the names of the characters, I cunningly used "Chinese-style" foreign names: Godard, Amy, Pierre, and other important characters in the future will also do the same.

To be honest: The background of The Mage is Western fantasy, but the foundation is still "fantasy".

After all, I classified it as fantasy and otherworldly continent, not fantasy.

However, this does not affect the fact that it will be a very pure mage novel, and there will not be any fighting warriors or the like.

Well, it will still be an "old-fashioned" novel. Like the sword cultivator, it will have many "old-fashioned" plots and an extremely "old-fashioned" ending.

Of course, it is very different from sword cultivation.

After all, sword cultivators and mages are very different.

4. Prices and the economic system

Everyone should be able to see that prices are an extremely important component of this book.

I stitched together the price systems of medieval Europe and 19th century Europe.

Why sew like this?

Because this is an extraordinary world, the gap between the rich and the poor is too huge. The lower class people still live in the Middle Ages, but the upper class can already enjoy many alchemical creations similar to modern technology.

In addition, most of the prices of ordinary items in the article can be found by searching the information, so the prices of this part should be very different from the actual prices.

For example, 4 pounds of rye bread cost 6 copper coins.

But for the prices of a few items, I couldn't find specific data when I looked through information on Baidu, only a rough introduction. I could only make calculations based on common sense and the prices of known items.

For example, regarding the price of wheat bread, I found this sentence: "Historical records show that the price of wheat bread can be several to dozens of times that of rye bread."

Blind spots in thinking definitely exist, so if any of my good brothers find that there is a problem with the price of any item, please leave a comment and let me know.

If there is a problem, I will correct it, but you cannot just say “I think there is a problem”, you have to show me your basis!

The prices of ordinary items can be traced, but the prices of extraordinary items can only be set by myself.

For the price increase between levels, I use the level increase formula, and the multiple is 4.64.

The pricing of different types of extraordinary items generally follows one principle: the price of a repairable item of the same tier is about ten times the price of a disposable item, and the same goes for repair fees.

By following these two principles, pricing should be reasonable in most cases.

But there will definitely be some things that are not well considered. If any good brother finds a bug, he can also point it out.

A more reasonable worldview requires everyone to work together to improve it.

5. About dnd
Most of the spells in the book are taken from dnd.

Because in terms of spell settings, dnd's spell system is undoubtedly the most complete and rigorous.

But not all of it has been copied, and some modifications have been made, so don’t use dnd’s settings completely when reading, and don’t use dnd’s settings to diss your friends.

In addition, only the spell entries are taken from dnd, and the other background settings are created by me.

Also, before writing this book, I had never come into contact with dnd, and all my knowledge of dnd was based on rote memorization from reading materials.

So if there are any interesting uses of spells, as a novice I don’t know them, but if there are readers who know them, you can also tell me in the comments, thank you!

——Finally, if you have any interesting ideas about the direction of "adding points" to certain spells, you can also post them in the comment area. I think they will be very useful!

6. Update
In the eyes of most readers and even the author, the Master's achievements so far have been very average.

To put it simply, this is a result from which the author may run away at any time.

But actually, for me, I am quite satisfied with the current results.

After all, my buddy's last sword repair took four full months to write before it was put on the shelves, and the total collection was less than 1500 when it was put on the shelves.

But in the end, 1500 collections were put on the shelves, and the sword cultivator with fifty or sixty orders was completed after more than three million words. Now the average order is 5000+.

When the mage finished writing for fifteen days, the number of collections exceeded 1500, and now it has 1.15 collections.

What more bikes do you want?
It is the author's conscience to have a beginning and an end, and I will continue to maintain this conscience.

So don't worry about my buddy running away. We will try to make efforts in the later stage.

If there are good brothers who have followed me all the way in sword cultivation, they should know that my biggest shortcoming is not the writing style or the plot (Disclaimer: I don’t mean to say that these two are good), but the update.

My updates are terrible, I admit it.

Therefore, the update is "one try, one guarantee."

Try your best to keep it stable and updated.

Guaranteed completion.

7. About the protagonist
The protagonists in my works are lawful neutral and kind. Anyway, I will not write a protagonist who is particularly violent.

——I can’t write it either.

Therefore, in some storylines, the decisions made by the protagonist may not be in line with the wishes of some readers.

I'd like to use what I said in my last book on sword cultivation: This is a typical difference in ideas. You may not like or agree with it, but you cannot criticize it or think that this choice is wrong (righteous face).

The reason I gave Gaode the identity of a student in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Peking is mainly because I feel that "magic" and "mathematics" are actually very similar in temperament and have something in common.

In my opinion, in addition to the golden finger, personal ability is also very important for the protagonist to become the protagonist.

Being a student in the Department of Mathematics at Kyoto University is Gaode’s “personal ability”.

In addition, I did graduate from the Department of Mathematics in college, and I am currently working in statistics, but I am not a top student at Peking University, and I have already graduated for three or four years.

Therefore, any mathematics-related content in the book is mostly based on currently researched information. If it is not good enough, please forgive me and don't take it too seriously.

After all, I am writing a novel, not an academic paper.

7. Some random talk

Miscellaneous talk 1: If there are good brothers who have followed the previous book, they may remember that when I wrote about sword cultivation, I said that if there is a next book, I will definitely not write about the system.

I always keep my word, so "Wind Spirit Moon Shadow" is really not a system! It's really not!
Miscellaneous talk 2: When I first read the new book, I asked for follow-up reading for two days, but I found that asking for follow-up reading was really a troublesome thing, and most of my good brothers would not like to read it. So I just didn’t care about it later and just went with the flow.

The same applies after the book is put on the shelves. Unless it is a summary at the end of the volume, I will try not to include any content other than the main text of the story, so as to reduce the author's presence.

Miscellaneous talk three: I just saw a comment from a reader in the comment section today. He couldn’t understand why magic potions were needed to build a spell model.

I can understand readers’ inability to understand, after all, I haven’t written it yet.

Even if I write it, and someone still can’t understand it, I can understand it, after all, everyone has different ideas.

And since I can't understand it, I don't care if you just criticize me.

If you, as an online writer, don't have the ability to withstand this kind of pressure, there's no point in writing online articles.

I just found out that there are people commenting below: It’s a copy of the setting of the Girlfriend Lord.

When my buddy saw this, he couldn't help but sigh deeply.

This is reality, which is more like a novel than fiction. This is how the young author is. He has no human rights and is suppressed by passers-by.

For example, in the last book "Sword Cultivator", many readers accused me of riding on the popularity of the steady senior brother, but in fact, I am not a steady person at all, and I don't even look like one. They dissed me for this point, which made me a little depressed because I hadn't developed the ability to withstand pressure at that time.

The fact is, when my buddy decided on the title and created the book, he had never heard of the steady flow, let alone wrote it for the steady flow. Moreover, at that time, Senior Brother Steady had not even been put on the shelves and the popularity had not yet risen, so how could he be riding on the popularity?
In order to avoid suspicion, I have never watched "Master Wenjie" so far, for fear that a similar plot would appear and I would be accused of plagiarism.

As for this book, I haven’t even written what potions are, but I’ve already been accused of plagiarizing the setting of The Lord of Girlfriends just because of the name “Potions” (sigh again).

Miscellaneous Talk 4: In the eyes of those who don’t like “Above the Mage!”, the plot may be a bit old-fashioned, a bit bland, or even a bit toxic, but at least I can boldly say that it is a very unique story.

Because I didn't follow any book or genre, I just wrote the story I wanted to write.

An old topic: about "water".

You have all seen the comments on the book before it was put on the shelves. My dear brothers, you should have also felt the style of this book. It is meticulous and contains many details.

Of course, this is just my own statement. Many readers would simply and crudely define it as "water".

But no matter what, we have worked hard to look up a lot of information, and the background setting must be depicted bit by bit, so as to increase the texture of the world.

The simplest example is the price of goods. If there are not enough details of daily life, in everyone's eyes, there is definitely no difference between 300 gold coins and 3 gold coins. It's just the difference in numbers, and there is no sense of reality at all.

Another thing is that the plot of online literature needs logic, and logic needs to be laid out.

for example.

For example, in real life, I need 500,000 yuan, and I, who never buy scratch tickets, go out today and buy a scratch ticket and I win 500,000 yuan. Is that logical?
It doesn't make sense, but it happens.

But can online articles be written like this?

No, if I dare to write like this, my brothers will definitely scold me to death.

Then how should I write it?
I have to prepare for the fact that I have the habit of buying scratch cards before the need for half a million arises.

It would be better to set up a small plot where the scratch tickets are not selling well recently, so the merchant decides to put more lottery tickets in the market, thereby increasing the winning rate to increase people's motivation to buy scratch tickets.

At least after these two layers of preparation, we can more logically introduce the plot in which "I" buys a scratch card and wins $500,000 to solve the current problem.

That's what it means.

8. Listing
My first goal in writing is to finish writing the novel I want to write and like, regardless of whether the results are good or bad. If I can make money from it, that would be great.

My job is okay, fairly stable and barely enough to make ends meet, so I won't play the victim.

In addition, I actually saw quite a few good brothers who followed me from the previous swordsmanship class. To be honest, I was very touched.

But I still have to say that "Mage" and "Swordsman" are two completely different styles of books. If you like them, of course you are welcome to do so.

But if you don’t like it, that’s okay, you can wait for the next one.

Maybe next time I will go back to the fairy tale world.

Don’t subscribe just because you like swordsmanship, even if you don’t like mages, you will feel ashamed!
After all, it’s not easy for everyone to make money.

I hope that my good brothers who subscribe to the Master do so because they really like this story, and not for any other reason.

Finally, as a part-time worker and typing very slowly, it does take some effort to write four or five thousand words a day, and I sacrifice most of my personal time.

Therefore, I work hard on writing.

Dear brothers, if you like it, please support it by subscribing to the genuine version.

It's all right!
