Chapter 148 The Pleasant Life in the Bamboo Forest

Day by day passed,

Anzhi consistently followed the method taught by Lingjizi, practicing the Three Elements Balance Exercise every day.

One day,
An Zhi was immersed in the practice of the Three Elements Balance Technique, and the surroundings were quiet.

However, this tranquility did not last long before it was broken by a furry figure.

After hopping around in the bamboo forest for a while, Tuantuan spotted Anzhi, who was cultivating.

With its round, curious eyes, Tuantuan waddled toward Anzhi on its short legs.

When it got to Anzhi's side, it tilted its head and looked at him for a moment, seemingly not understanding why Anzhi was sitting still.

Then, Tuantuan stretched out its little paws and gently scratched Anzhi's leg. Seeing that Anzhi didn't react, it scratched a few more times with more force: "Mommy, what are you doing?"

Anzhi was at a crucial stage of her cultivation. She was trying her best to maintain the flow of her internal energy and absorb and harmonize the power of the three elements. However, Tuantuan's interference distracted her a lot.

She frowned slightly, but couldn't immediately stop her cultivation to scold Tuantuan. She could only force herself to continue focusing on her cultivation technique. But Tuantuan didn't care about any of that. Seeing that Anzhi ignored it, it simply hugged Anzhi's leg and shook it vigorously, climbing up as it did so, determined to get Anzhi's attention.

Now, Anzhi was completely unable to cultivate properly. She opened her eyes helplessly, looked at Tuantuan who was tightly hugging her legs, and said helplessly, "Mommy is cultivating. Why don't you go play with Duoqi?"

Tuanzi blinked, looking aggrieved, and said, "Duoqi went out."

Anzhi then remembered that Duoqi had gone to Tianyang Lake to meet friends with Lingjizi early this morning, leaving the lonely Tuantuan darting around in the bamboo forest.

Looking at the dog still jumping around his legs and occasionally bumping him with its head, Anzhi sighed and said, "Forget it, I'm afraid I won't be able to cultivate today, you rascal."

And so, Anzhi put aside his cultivation today and decided to spend quality time with Tuantuan.

Anzhi led Tuantuan along the winding path, through a lush bamboo forest, and soon arrived at the tranquil bamboo lake.

The lake water is crystal clear. A gentle breeze ripples across the surface, like a giant mirror being gently shattered and then quickly pieced back together.

As soon as Tuantuan saw the lake, it excitedly broke free from Anzhi's embrace and ran towards the lake with its round little legs.

Upon reaching the lake, it curiously stretched out its little paw and gently touched the lake water. The coolness of the water made it quickly retract its paw, its eyes widening in surprise.

Anzhi walked over with a smile, squatted down, and played in the water with Tuantuan by the lake.

She gently stirred the lake water with her hand, splashing up a series of tiny water droplets that shimmered with iridescent colors under the sunlight.

Anzhi noticed some flat pebbles by the lake. On a whim, she picked up a pebble, weighed it in her hand, then turned to the side, raised her hand, and forcefully flung the pebble toward the lake.

The pebbles bounced lightly on the lake surface, once, twice, three times, four times, five times... they bounced several times before sinking into the lake.

Tuantuan watched with wide eyes, and quickly ran over, picked up a large rock, and threw it into the lake. With a "plop," the rock sank to the bottom of the water, splashing up a large spray.

"Ha ha ha ha……"

Anzhi burst into laughter at Tuantuan's antics.

After playing for an unknown amount of time, Tuantuan's eyes suddenly fell on a patch of lush green bamboo by the roadside. Anzhi understood, of course, so she walked towards the bamboo grove and began selecting bamboo suitable for Tuantuan to eat. Anzhi knew that Tuantuan liked to eat fresh and tender bamboo, so she searched with extra care.

"Mommy, this, this one." Tuanzi had already figured out what each bamboo in the bamboo forest tasted like.

"Okay, okay, don't rush." Anzhi walked up, reached out and grabbed the bamboo, and snapped it off with force.

With a "snap," the bamboo stalk was broken off near the root, revealing the tender bamboo core inside. Anzhi broke off several more stalks and hugged them all to his chest.

"Here you go." Anzhi handed two of them to Tuantuan.

The creaking sound immediately echoed through the bamboo forest...

After eating and drinking their fill, Anzhi led Tuantuan forward again.

Along the way, Tuantuan skipped and hopped behind Anzhi, her round body weaving through the light and shadow, occasionally stopping to sniff the flowers and plants by the roadside.

Before long, the familiar bamboo house came into view.

The bamboo house of the old man who makes bamboo weaving still sits quietly deep in the bamboo forest, exuding a simple and peaceful atmosphere.

In the courtyard, various exquisite bamboo woven items are neatly arranged, and several bamboo woven scrolls are hung on the wall.

Anzhi gently knocked on the door, and the kind voice of the old bamboo weaver came from inside: "It's Anzhi, come in quickly."

When the door opened, the old man making bamboo crafts saw Anzhi and Tuantuan and smiled warmly. "Oh, what brings you two here today?"

An Zhi laughed and said, "Hey, don't say anymore. Senior Lingjizi took Duoqi out for a few days, and this guy is sticking to me today. I guess his cultivation these few days will be ruined."

The old man who made bamboo skewer smiled and handed over a bamboo stool: "Hehe, take your time, don't rush, sit down."

Tuantuan pays special attention to the bamboo weaving old man because there are good things in the pickling jar in the old man's kitchen. Last time, Tuantuan and Duoqi stole some pickled bamboo shoots. Although their mouths were all red from the spiciness, they were absolutely delicious.

Tuantuan walked up to the old man making bamboo products with her short legs and gently rubbed her head against his leg.

The old man who did bamboo weaving instantly understood and immediately stood up, saying, "Hehe, just wait and see..."

A little while later, the old bamboo weaver went to the kitchen and brought out some bamboo shoots and tea that he had pickled himself: "Come, try my newly pickled bamboo shoots with chili peppers. These chili peppers are called millet peppers, and I asked someone to bring them from Mala Town last month."

"Spicy Town! Small chili peppers?" An Zhi curiously took the pickled bamboo shoots, took a bite, and immediately praised them: "Wow, these pickled bamboo shoots are really delicious, sour and spicy, very appetizing."

Tuantuan also came over, staring longingly at the bamboo shoot in Anzhi's hand. Anzhi knew that Tuantuan also liked sour and spicy food, so he smiled and broke off a small piece for Tuantuan, who immediately began to wolf it down.

“Senior, I met Guanyin Bodhisattva at Muyun Ferry before I came to the bamboo forest.” Anzhi had so many questions about this bamboo forest, but every time he asked Lingjizi, he would brush him off with the excuse that heavenly secrets could not be revealed.

An elderly man weaving a bamboo pillow said, "Hehe, this place was a place where Bodhisattvas cultivated themselves thousands of years ago..."

……

And so, Anzhi and the bamboo weaving elder sat in the courtyard and chatted, from the relationship between the bamboo forest and the Bodhisattva to their recent life and spiritual practice, from their bamboo weaving creations and techniques to advice on spiritual practice...
