Siheyuan's Journey Through the Ages

Chapter 173 Conflict at Night

Chapter 173 Conflict at Night

Ma Qing looked at the woman on the stage and listened to the dirty words of the man next to him. He had no interest in it. In the past few years, the three women he had kept at home occasionally came out to play with him, which greatly reduced Ma Qing's demand for women.

Especially when facing these heavily made-up dancers who came from nowhere, he had no desire at all. Instead, he thought of another thing.

Zheng Yumian saw Ma Qing staring at the woman on the stage with his eyes motionless. He laughed at Ma Qing for not having seen the world and being unable to walk when he saw a woman, so he came over and said, "Why, do you have a target you like? Tell me and I'll help you arrange it."

"No, I'm not interested," Ma Qing said unhappily when his train of thought was interrupted.

"Tsk, why are you pretending to be nice to me? I've seen you accept everyone who comes to you." Zheng Yumian retorted: "Last time when we went to the nightclub, weren't you..."

"Okay, Mr. Zheng, I'm just thinking about something, don't get me wrong. I want to ask, do you have any relationship with the TV station?" Ma Qing quickly interrupted Zheng Yumian's free speech.

"TV station, which TV station are you talking about, TVB or ATV?" Zheng Yumian asked, "Why are you asking this?"

1949年3月22日,英国丽的呼声公司在香港成立子公司——香港丽的呼声。1957年4月,丽的呼声获香港政府准许开办有线电视,并获发执照(有效期到1973年4月30日)。

On May 1957, 5, Rediffusion Television established "Rediffusion Television" in Hong Kong and officially launched television services. This was the first television station in Hong Kong and the Far East.

At the beginning, Rediffusion Television only had one English channel with black and white screens, broadcasting for four hours a day. In the early days of the channel, it provided services on a paid basis, charging each user a monthly fee of HK$25, which was quite expensive at the time and was unaffordable for ordinary citizens. There were only 640 users. This year, Rediffusion Television broadcast the first live TV drama in Hong Kong television history, "Happy Family".

On May 1959, 5, the new Rediffusion Building (located on Gloucester Road) was officially completed and put into use, equipped with the TV station's recording studio, screening studio, broadcasting studio, etc.

On September 1963, 9, Rediffusion Television added a Chinese channel, with Cantonese as the main broadcasting language. The first comedy on the opening day was called "The Funny Life" (the first Chinese comedy in Hong Kong television history and the originator of television comedy). The number of users of Rediffusion Television increased by over a thousand per month.

Most of the programs on Rediffusion Chinese Channel were purchased original European and American programs without re-dubbing or Chinese subtitles, and initially failed to attract a large audience. As the number of users increased, foreign films were gradually dubbed in Cantonese, and the number of self-produced programs also gradually increased.

During this period, the Chinese channel broadcast from 11:7 a.m. to midnight every day, and on Sundays it started at 3: a.m. The English channel broadcast from : p.m. to midnight, and the programs were mainly in black and white.

In 1967, Rediffusion Television had as many as 6000 subscribers. In September of that year, Wireless Television (hereinafter referred to as TVB or Wireless) was launched. TVB was completely free to watch, wirelessly received, and had many (not all) color programs.

However, Rediffusion Television still used black and white images, and many viewers began to switch to TVB. Rediffusion Television suffered a blow and lost customers. By the end of 1972, Rediffusion Television's customers had dropped to 7.5, and the number of viewers was about 30.

In 1968, the new building on Broadcast Road was established and put into use. The new building has 9 screening studios, 8 broadcasting studios, and is equipped with advanced recording and electronic equipment. In July, the second batch of Rediffusion Artist Training Class graduated. This training class trained many people such as Su Xia, Huang Shuyi, Lu Dawei, Xie Yuemei, Huang Wanshi, Liang Xiaoling, etc., who later became the first generation of outstanding artists in Hong Kong television history.

In 1969, Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) began to produce television programs in collaboration with the Hong Kong Education Department and arranged for them to be broadcast on Rediffusion Television's channel.

TVB (Hong Kong Television Broadcasting Limited) was established on November 1967, 11, by Li Ka-shing, Johnnie To, Run Run Shaw and others.

It is the first television station in Hong Kong to obtain a free wireless television license and is also the world's largest Chinese-language commercial television station.

TVB was originally established to compete with the already existing Rediffusion Television (later known as ATV), and quickly became a leader in Hong Kong's television industry.

The establishment of TVB marked a new era in Hong Kong's television broadcasting industry. It not only changed Hong Kong's entertainment landscape, but also influenced the cultural life of Chinese people around the world.

"ATV or TVB, it's fine. I'm not picky. I plan to advertise Magic Cube anyway, so both TV stations are fine. They're almost the same anyway." Ma Qing answered in a relaxed tone.

In his opinion, both ATV and TVB have their own advantages and target audiences. As long as they can achieve the purpose of advertising for Magic Cube, he doesn't mind which one he chooses.

"Okay, give me some time, I'll ask my relatives and friends, it shouldn't be a problem." Zheng Yumian scratched his head, trying to hide his embarrassment. There was a hint of hesitation on his face, obviously he was not completely sure about this matter.

However, he did not want to appear to have no connections in front of Ma Qing, so he could only agree first and then seek help from others.

He was secretly thinking in his mind, what's the point of using connections to advertise? Just one party pays the money and the other party plays the ad, it's a piece of cake.

Zheng Yumian's thinking was obviously still stuck in the traditional business logic, thinking that as long as there was enough money, the problem could be easily solved. However, he did not understand Ma Qing's mentality of wanting to do big things with little money.

In Ma Qing's opinion, the promotion of the Rubik's Cube is obviously not just a matter of advertising the product. He knows very well that relying solely on simple advertising cannot really open up the Rubik's Cube market.

He needed to use more clever ways to get the most benefits at the lowest cost. He hoped to find an innovative promotion strategy to make the magic cube stand out from many products and attract widespread attention from consumers.

Seeing that Zheng Yumian was not a big deal, Ma Qing just put the matter aside and turned to continue looking at the beauties on the stage. There were really few entertainment options in this era for Ma Qing. He was tired of the games and entertainment in his space over the past few years. He was now in a state of having no interest in anything.

"How about it, which one do you like? I'll help you arrange it." Zheng Yumian saw Ma Qing turned his head to look at the beauty on the stage again, and patted his chest confidently to assure Ma Qing. There was a hint of excitement in his eyes, as if as long as Ma Qing nodded, he could immediately send the beauty he liked to Ma Qing.

"She's just a lady in a nightclub. What arrangements are there? You can just come and order anytime." Ma Qing glanced at Zheng Yumian and couldn't help but feel that this boy had the potential to be a pimp.

There was a hint of ridicule in his tone, and he seemed a little unimpressed by Zheng Yumian's enthusiasm. In his opinion, the ladies in the nightclub were just objects of entertainment and there was no need to make any special arrangements. "You don't understand this, right? Once you are selected, your value will increase tenfold. I dare say that the women here will be kept by others in the next moment. Do you believe it?" Zheng Yumian retorted hurriedly. There was a hint of pride on his face, as if he knew the situation well. He raised his chin slightly, expecting Ma Qing to agree with his opinion.

Ma Qing was very surprised and stared at Zheng Yumian with wide eyes, "Are you kidding me? Are rich people so stupid? They have to take home something that everyone has played with for a little money to keep. What kind of mentality is that? Have you been kicked in the brain by a donkey?" His words were full of doubt and confusion.

In his opinion, rich people should be more rational and shrewd and would not do such irrational behavior. He could not understand why someone would be willing to spend a lot of money to support a nightclub lady, and felt that such behavior was simply unreasonable.

"...Sometimes I don't quite understand your thinking. Rich people always have diverse ideas. What's so strange about biological diversity? Some people just like fame. You think he is playing with women, but he is using money to occupy a resource that everyone wants." Zheng Yumian said confidently.

It turns out that I am still a loser at heart, Ma Qing couldn't help but think self-deprecatingly, but he would never accept such PUA, "Brother, you are the one who thinks things through. It's okay for me to come here to play, but if you want me to take her home and raise her, I'm really not interested. I'd better leave her to you, brother."

"Hehe, I have my eyes on one. I'll take her back after the competition is over." Zheng Yumian said, pointing at a long-legged beauty on the stage.

"You must have hooked up with someone a long time ago, and you came here to gild your reputation." Ma Qing understood immediately. "Why do you insist on introducing someone to me? You are afraid that I will be alone later and delay your meeting with the beauty."

"You know what's going on, but you don't say it. We're still good brothers. You're so cunning." Zheng Yumian saw that the competition was coming to an end and his woman had won the second place. She was flirting with him on the stage. He quickly said, "You don't want it. I have something else to do. I'll leave first."

Looking at Zheng Yumian walking towards the stage, Ma Qing shook his head, drank the wine in the glass, and prepared to leave.

Ma Qingzheng was walking slowly in the slightly dim corridor of the nightclub. When he passed by a private room, the door of the room suddenly burst open, and a man flew out and fell on the wall opposite the door with a bang.

His steps stopped involuntarily, and curiosity drove him to approach the door of the private room. Through the dilapidated door, Ma Qing saw a shocking scene. A slender man, like a brave lone wolf, was fighting fiercely with several men.

Facing the siege of many opponents, he was not afraid at all, staring closely at the many opponents around him, without the slightest fear. His body leaned forward slightly, his legs slightly bent, like a fully drawn bow, ready to burst out with amazing power at any time.

A sturdy opponent rushed over first, swinging his huge fist and hitting the man with a whirring sound. The man was not in a hurry, and slightly turned his body to easily avoid the fierce blow.

Then, he quickly stretched out his left hand, grabbed the other's wrist, and pulled it, while raising his right foot and kicking the other's abdomen fiercely. The burly man immediately bent over in pain and staggered back.

Seeing this, several other opponents rushed forward with roars. A tall and thin man kicked the man in the head.

The man quickly lowered his body, and the kick whizzed past his head. Before the tall and thin man could retract his foot, the man had already swept him to the ground with a sweeping kick.

At the same time, two more people attacked from both sides. The man did a backflip and landed steadily on the ground, then turned around quickly and punched the two men in the chest. The two men groaned and retreated.

But the enemy did not give up, they continued to attack frantically. The man rushed left and right in the crowd, as if he was in an empty space.

His fists were made of steel, and every blow was painful, whether it was a straight punch to the face, an uppercut to the chin, or an elbow to the ribs.

In the chaotic fight, the furniture in the private room was knocked over. The sofa was overturned and the glassware on the coffee table was shattered all over the floor, making a crisp sound. The lights flickered in the fierce battle, casting distorted shadows.

The man's body was gradually covered with scars, but he seemed to feel no pain and continued to fight tenaciously. His eyes were burning with an unyielding fighting spirit, as if he was announcing to the world that he was invincible.

Ma Qing stood outside the door, deeply shocked by the scene before his eyes. He had never seen such a fierce fight before, and he admired the man's bravery and strength. This battle seemed to be a contest of strength and courage, which made people's blood boil.

The sound of fighting in the room was like a sharp alarm, and it quickly attracted a large crowd of onlookers. People gathered from all directions, and soon a circle of people gathered outside the private room.

Everyone was talking and talking, with curiosity and astonishment on their faces. Some stood on tiptoe, trying to see what was going on in the room; others clenched their fists nervously, worrying about the man who was being besieged.

At this moment, a group of people rushed in aggressively. After these people joined the battle, the situation was reversed instantly. The man who was originally extremely brave could no longer hold on. Under the combined efforts of everyone, he gradually became powerless and was eventually pinned to the ground.

His face was filled with fatigue and unwillingness, and a mixture of sweat and blood flowed down his cheeks.

Ma Qing stood in the crowd, shocked. He swore to God that he had never seen anyone with such high martial arts skills in real life.

This man showed extraordinary courage and strength when he was fighting ten people alone, which made Ma Qing admire him. At this time, seeing the man being pinned to the ground, Ma Qing suddenly felt a desire to admire his talent.

A boss-like man in the room shouted arrogantly, "You bastard, you owe money and don't pay it back. It's only natural for you to use your sister to pay off the debt. You bastard dare to resist. Come on, break the legs and arms of this bastard first, then bring his sister here. I want to rape him in front of you."

His voice was cold and cruel, full of evil, and his eyes flashed with a fierce light, as if a demon was declaring the fate of others.

When the people around heard this, some showed fear, while others showed disgust, but no one dared to stand up and speak. The whole scene fell into tension and depression.
