Chapter 70 Andrew Has No Harm Against Peeves

Creating a sculpture out of snow on the astronomy tower, the highest point of the entire castle, is not an easy task - without magic.

Andrew was frightened by the high artistic accomplishment of the senior students of Ravenclaw. The snow blocks that the junior students had transported using magic quickly piled up, formed and changed color under the wands of the senior students. It was so fast that it didn't seem like they were building something with the snow, but rather like they were digging something buried in the snow.

Probably in less than an hour, a huge raven, looking back and overlooking, stood at the highest point of the castle. Its left claw was hooked on the top of the tower, and its right claw was at the bottom. Its wings were deliberately dyed black and it was unknown what kind of magic was cast. When illuminated by the sunlight, it gave people the illusion that it was a colorful black.

"Perfect!"

After expressing their admiration, several senior students pulled Andrew and the others and secretly flew in (obviously, if they were caught by Filch, they would have to go outside to clean up the snow...), and then several students secretly returned with brooms.

As for the remaining people, they were immediately told to do their own things - in an uncharacteristically lax manner.

But Andrew had actually gotten used to it. He secretly complained that few people would see this work, then left the lounge and went to the empty classroom in the basement to prepare his manuscript.

Today's events had given him some new ideas, which was very helpful.

+ + + +
[Wizards are the darlings of magic, and elves are the embodiment of the rules of magic. ]

[Dumbledore looked at this sentence, still unable to understand the meaning of this gift from Gryffindor.]

[Since returning from the early days of Hogwarts, he has never given up studying this book - but there is no record to refer to.]

[He didn't understand. There were so many beings that could be linked to elves, but when he actually investigated, no one of them could live up to such a high evaluation.]

[This distressed the young Dumbledore greatly. He had never felt such a great setback, except for a battle in which both sides were evenly matched when he entered school.]

[The rare streak of failures made him feel a little troubled, but more of a fighting spirit - as he liked to say, giving up is the real failure. ]

...

【Peeves…】

[Dumbledore finally found the answer, but this time the failure was even more tragic - he tried all kinds of magic, but could not fundamentally attack this real elf. And the power called rules also woke up from the years after his trial...]

[The smile that represented the success of the prank rang out, but what greeted Dumbledore was not the little pranks in the corridor in the past, but a shrill cicada cry - just like the cicada cry last time! ]

[Everything in the castle began to become unreal, just like last time, time was passing quickly, but the difference was that this time there was Peeves' smile of success.]

...

【Why are you holding a stupid stick? 】

...

[Oh, those people, they tried to catch that elf, it was the power of magic - when it appeared, some golden rain would fall, as long as you drink that rain, your wishes would come true, that's the one, we call it the lucky spirit, born in the fountain of good luck. ]

……

[Dumbledore still couldn't confirm the time of this chaotic era. Wizards didn't even have wands, but he was shocked by the terrible extent of the magic.]

[Black magic that is so terrifying that it cannot be imagined by later generations, potions whose effects are far beyond imagination, extremely cruel magic experiments, and so-called elves that can create miracles with just a little bit of corners.]

[Wizards chased them, worshipped them, and hunted them. In just one month, Dumbledore had seen several elves whose abilities could only be replicated by the most powerful potions.]

...

[The lucky spirit that was being chased finally couldn't escape the pursuit of the black wizard, and it bravely committed suicide - and that piece of land was the place where the main ingredient of the Felixir was most widely distributed in the future. 】【Dumbledore finally knew...】

Andrew stopped writing and scratched his head.

Oh no, this wasn't right - his original plan was to use Peeves's elf identity to create something new, and then change the effects of various powerful potions into various elves.

But as I wrote, the flavor changed too much. This was totally inconsistent with the previous ability.

"Damn it, I worked so hard to write something that is not even usable."

He was essentially trying to get Dumbledore to put an end to this behavior, but the style just didn't add up.

'This cannot be used as a reference.'

He used his magic wand to destroy all the scraps and started trying another style.

[Wizards are the darlings of magic, and elves are the embodiment of the rules of magic. ]

[But as the open era passed, the elves in the legends disappeared one by one, and only from some relics can we see how powerful those elves were at that time.]

[That was a time before magic wands became popular and wizards no longer had to hide. Wizards observed and imitated elves to master more powerful magic, thus transforming the entire continent.]

[But what happened in between is unknown, but after hiding, the wizards finally found a few weak elves and discovered a way to gain their power - that is, to subdue them. ]

[Before Hogwarts was built, there were five extremely powerful elves. Gryffindor conquered one with courage, Ravenclaw conquered one with his erudition, Hufflepuff conquered one with friendship, and Slytherin conquered one with a power unknown to others.]

[Gryffindor left the only remaining elf in the castle, hoping that someone could gain the power of the magical essence from it.]

……

[Dumbledore worked hard for this for a long time - but he had to admit that he had encountered the greatest setback.]

[No matter how he challenged the thing that looked most like an elf, he always failed.]

[Perhaps, only by defeating it with a real prank can we gain its recognition? ]

...

Andrew even wanted to pick up the original setting and rewrite it, but the follow-up would be troublesome. It would be fine to brag about other things, but to arrange a romantic encounter for Dumbledore?
Are you kidding? That's more than just being hung on the tower.

Moreover, after all the smooth sailing, it didn't seem too serious for Dumbledore to have a little less obvious failure.

'It needs to be revised. The scrapped manuscript must not be used. Dumbledore's gains must also be added - although he did not get the recognition of the remaining elf. But when he forced the elf, he mastered the magic that Gryffindor used when fighting...'

After some revisions, Andrew nodded in scrutiny - returning from ancient times, getting clues, and thus cracking the remaining secrets.

'Sure, just add a few of Dumbledore's quotations where appropriate.'

"The one with Slytherin's name on it is more like that..."

He commented.
