Chapter 532 Preparation before the game
"It's over, Hermione."
In the Hogwarts common room, Hermione, who was called out by her roommate, heard Harry's low but hurried words before she could ask why Harry was looking for her so late at night.
"What's wrong, Harry?"
Hermione, who had finally developed a normal routine, suppressed her temper and asked, "What happened?"
"Dragons, your assessment is about dragons. Each school will deal with a pair of dragons!"
Harry was a little flustered - after seeing the dragon with his own eyes, he no longer had any doubts about the creature being rated as a Class XXXXX magical creature.
He couldn't imagine how he would deal with the dragon, let alone Hermione - on the way back he kept imagining the image of Hermione being torn to pieces by the dragon.
"A pair of dragons?"
Hermione took a deep breath, "Did you see this when you and Hagrid went out?"
Harry nodded vigorously - if it weren't for Hagrid, he wouldn't have known that Hermione was going to deal with such a dangerous thing.
The wood in the fireplace next to him was crackling as the flames burned, but it couldn't bring Harry any warmth. If Hermione died on the field, all would be ruined.
'Why didn't I stop her? Maybe I was wrong from the beginning. If I didn't help Hermione with her training, she might not have been selected...'
The feeling of regret began to swell rapidly as silence set in. Harry felt his head become heavier than expected. He tried very hard to think, but there was nothing he could do.
"The competition is on the 24th. We still have several days to get it done. There are four warriors thinking about this problem, Harry." Hermione suppressed the fear in her heart and tried to make her tone as calm as usual. "Thank you very much, Harry. I will get it done. It is much easier to deal with than the final exam."
After hurriedly comforting Harry and giving him a look that said "I'm responsible for everything", Hermione found that she was completely unable to sleep.
Dragon!
She thought back to the information she had looked up - but there wasn't much that was useful. Ever since dragons were killed by poachers and a special reserve had to be built, there had been little knowledge about dragons in Hogwarts.
But all the available information shows that they are powerful, with strong wings, skin that can resist magic, terrifying breath and super high speed...
"How can a fourth grader fight a dragon?"
Hermione sighed - although she had started to adjust her schedule, it wasn't very successful, and she had to stay up late again today.
She quickly searched through the knowledge she had learned.
First of all, divination, astronomy, ancient magic runes...a bunch of courses can be excluded.
There might be a way with magical creatures, but Hagrid revealing the test questions in disguise was already the limit. If he thought of more methods, even if cheating was a tradition of the Triwizard Tournament, it would not be justified.
Potions, no, dragons can even consume poisonous substances...
Transfiguration, no, Taylor might be able to do it, but her Transfiguration skill simply can't do it.
Curse...The skin of half-bloods is called dragon skin and clothes can resist curses, not to mention those purebloods.
"Invulnerable? According to the information, they might be able to withstand direct bombardment - but I can't get a cannon for Hogwarts, can I?"
This was obviously impossible. She sat in front of the fireplace, staring at the flames, her mind in confusion.
"If Taylor was a warrior, he would definitely be able to come up with a solution - no, he would just use Transfiguration to crush them... He has mastered a single spell to the extreme..."
"But even if he is a warrior, it doesn't affect me being a Gryffindor warrior... I can't always rely on others. A warrior will naturally face difficulties... Think about it carefully, Hermione, you can handle it..."
After a long period of thinking and denying, looking at the dimming fire, she finally realized that it was late at night.
"Ah?" A shrill voice came, and Hermione turned her head and saw a dodgy elf.
"Feel sorry…"
As she spoke, she added wood to the fireplace. "I'm sorry, miss, I didn't know there were people in the lounge at this time, but the fireplace can't be extinguished..."
"It's okay. You can actually add it during the day. It's really too late now."
Hermione shook her head, "I just couldn't sleep."
She was actually looking forward to chatting with the elf - or anyone else. The more she imagined it, the more she could understand the horror of dragons and her confusion about the future.
But the elf had no intention of communicating, and she left quickly after filling the fireplace.
The flames became hotter as new wood was added, and the temperature rose suddenly.
"But it's no use... Dragons are much scarier than darkness..."
She shook her head in self-mockery, but an idea suddenly popped into her mind.
If dragons are dark, how did they become protected animals?
'Few promising wizards would join the illegal dragon hunters, which means that most of them are just average graduates...'
"Then there must be a spell that the average graduate can master to attack the dragon's weak spot... and I can definitely master this spell!"
She was now extremely grateful for her efforts during the summer vacation - although she did not master any more spells, nor did she learn to bring things from the Muggle world into the magical world like Taylor, but she still picked up the logical ability that she had been training before.
"Then the question is, where exactly is this weakness?"
'This... may not be difficult... the book says that a dragon's skin can resist most spells and even curses, so that simple spell must be aimed at a part of the dragon that cannot be defended.'
'Eyes? Perhaps, but will it still work if the eyelids are closed?'
"Mouth, impossible... If you can withstand even the dragon's breath, the mouth is the most difficult to deal with."
"Wings? They feel much stronger than I imagined. I suspect that dragons may not rely entirely on wings to fly. With a body size like that, wings cannot increase that much power. Are there magic in the wings?"
'So, where to excrete?'
"The magic power of dragon dung is so high that I feel like I can't handle it..."
Hermione shook her head, but her thoughts began to come into focus.
Then the next step is very simple - just share your ideas with others tomorrow, and then everyone will work together to deal with it.
She nodded in satisfaction and prepared to go to bed.
But when she turned her attention to the window, she found that the sky was already turning white.
"Merlin's beard, staying up late again..."
Hermione sighed helplessly, but her expression did not seem too disappointed - although she had not figured out all the methods, she now had a clue.
Is she considered a half-qualified warrior?
