Chapter 386 Andrew Disappears
Chapter 386 Andrew Disappears
"Yawn, that guy Taylor, is he running again?"
"That should be it. He's like this every day. He moves around the stairs when it rains and by the Black Lake on weekdays," Hal replied dazedly. "He's so mysterious. I don't know what he's doing. He just came back before lights out last night."
"Anyway, we'll find out later. That guy can make up lies with his eyes open. I doubt that even the Imperius Curse can get anything out of him."
Kevin got up and said, "If you don't believe me, you can ask during breakfast."
But something strange happened - Andrew, who usually showed up in the restaurant on time, did not show up. They even boldly looked at the faculty and staff table, but still did not find him.
"What are you busy with? You didn't even have breakfast. Are you cooking in the kitchen?"
A few people grumbled and ignored Andrew who disappeared.
But something terrible happened - the first class in the morning was Potions.
When the class time came, Andrew still didn't show up.
"Merlin's pants, is Andrew crazy?"
They looked at each other, all in great terror.
This is Professor Snape's class! The whole school knows how difficult this professor is to deal with!
"Damn it! Is he missing?"
Kevin began to mutter to himself. Other professors would occasionally take attendance, but Potions was a course that required mandatory attendance - students had to hand in their potions in every class, not to mention that Professor Snape was best at remembering students!
But to their surprise, Professor Snape was unusually late, and his already messy hair was even messier than usual.
To everyone's surprise, although Professor Snape looked unusually tired today, his tone during class was much gentler than usual.
This symptom appeared last school year.
"Merlin's pants, is Professor Snape suffering from some strange disease that attacks once a year? Which doctor can make the condition a little better?"
Kevin muttered softly, his eyes full of disbelief.
"Maybe it fulfilled a wish," Hal was also confused. "Oh, right, I suddenly thought of a question."
He lowered his voice again, "Did anyone pay attention to the Gryffindor table this morning? Was Potter murdered? In this case, it can explain Andrew's absence from class and Professor Snape's gentleness."
"Don't always think about making big news, Hal," Bell couldn't help laughing, and then met Professor Snape's ruthless eyes.
"One point deduction from Ravenclaw. I wish you'd spent more time with your stupid brains on the developing potion instead of spending it in the common room."
The conversation was thus temporarily interrupted.
The discussion did not continue until the time came to brew the potion.
"Hal, I'm beginning to doubt that your point of view is correct. I only deducted one point!"
"Quiet, Andrew is not here, we might even lose points. If we lose too many points in this class, our dormitory will have a hard time these days."
Kevin lowered his voice and said - the subject he was good at was Charms, and he did very poorly on the test, and could not get any points at all, so he really didn't dare to waste any time.
With no one daring to communicate with each other, the developing potion was quickly brewed - this potion used to make photos move was not too difficult to make, and the potion that the few people brewed was quite successful, at least they did not lose points.
But what puzzled them was that when collecting potions by name, Professor Snape did not seem surprised by Andrew's absence and simply ignored it.
……
"It's so weird. What happened? Andrew didn't come. Professor Snape didn't react or even use violence against us."
"It seems like we really need to check to see if classmate Potter is dead..." The four of them gathered together and whispered, but still didn't understand what was going on.
The second class was a separate elective - the people who took Arithmancy with Andrew still didn't see him.
But at lunchtime, the four of them felt much more at ease - although they didn't see Andrew at the table, classmate Porter was indeed staying at the table obediently and unharmed.
In the first herbal class in the afternoon, the four still didn't see Andrew, as if that guy had suddenly disappeared.
It was not until dinner time that Hal reluctantly got the news from his roommate - someone saw Andrew running to Dumbledore's office with a pile of unknown things.
By the time they finally got someone, it was almost time to turn off the lights at night - although there was no electricity in the dormitory, they could light a lamp.
"What have you been doing all day, Andrew?"
“It’s not easy to say, but the results are good.”
Andrew answered casually while taking off his clothes - today he even used a time converter to finish the paper, but he still only finished half of it.
It is not easy to completely magicalize the steps you feel, even with the help of Professor McGonagall and Dumbledore.
Even though he omitted again and again, the basic information still had to be translated.
At the very least, we need to introduce what enzymes are, under what conditions they must be preserved, and under what conditions they will completely lose their function.
Then we need to introduce the selection of the object of casting the spell, and also introduce the acidic conditions and the acid used in a magical way.
Dumbledore would learn it after seeing it once - but this obviously has no reference value.
There was no possible experiment to reproduce and no point in making a translation into something the magical world could understand no matter how anxious he was.
What's more, he also had selfish motives - to introduce catalysts and the scope of catalysts while introducing enzymes.
It is acceptable if the cake is not tasty enough, but the cake must be big and round. Otherwise, how can the researchers in the magic world focus on it? How can the magic world develop?
"Laughing again, Andrew."
"I can't help it. I just remembered something happy."
Andrew answered happily.
But unfortunately, no one took over.
So, the Internet must be developed, and the magic world must grow. It has to grow. The speed of paper media dissemination is too slow, and the amount of information is too little.
"Happy things?"
Hal walked to the lamp and asked, "Why, you have made a great breakthrough in Transfiguration, and Professor McGonagall even asked for leave from other professors for you?"
"Not quite there yet, but it's almost there."
Andrew leaned on the bed, "That's about it, go to sleep, I have to get up early tomorrow."
In another two days, it should be almost done - one of the difficult points has been overcome, and it will be completed tomorrow. The language will be sorted out the day after tomorrow, and I will publish it directly.
As for the format and so on, it doesn’t matter. It’s something you will learn later.
"It looks like a real breakthrough," Hal raised his eyebrows, "I'm turning off the lights."
"Well, wait and see, it's quite interesting."
