Chapter 348 Mascot
Chapter 348 Mascot
Before Andrew could prepare himself mentally, Norman knocked on the door of the dean's office.
"Please come in."
The Dean's voice sounded with some joy - there was no doubt that Professor Flitwick was in a good mood today.
Led by Norman, Andrew entered the dean's office. After seeing a group of people in the room, he knew that his previous guess was wrong.
All the prefects were present, as were a few familiar laboratory members and all the members of the Ravenclaw team. The latter were all wearing jerseys, and the tall guy Bell blended in without standing out at all.
Professor Flitwick was sitting at his desk, and on the table in front of him was what was clearly a camera.
"You guys are coming too - wait a minute, we still have a few more people."
Professor Flitwick nodded. "Andrew, come over here and make a comparison. After all, you young people know more about brooms."
"Dean, you overestimate me."
Such thoughts emerged in Andrew's mind, but he obviously couldn't say such words out loud - not to mention the anxious looks of his roommates and the rest of the team, just because the professor spoke, he had to go.
It doesn’t matter whether he understands it or not, the key is the attitude - it’s just a reference after all, it’s not his turn to make the final decision.
On the edge of the desk was a table detailing the brooms on the market and their prices - Andrew noticed that most of the brooms had obvious discounts, but he didn't know how they came about.
'The Comet series is really cheap...'
This was Andrew’s first feeling—now he could understand what Kevin said.
'The Nimbus is not on sale?'
Andrew once again confirmed what he saw and directly ruled out this expensive and useful gadget along with the above options.
He didn't understand anyway, but after looking at the price for a while he finally understood it.
The plan was clear - all members would be equipped with the Seven Stars, a broom comparable in price to the Nimbus 2000, and the Seeker would be equipped with a Comet 260, which was said to be comparable to the Nimbus 2001.
'It's almost time.'
"I think this is perfect without any more funding."
Andrew's face was filled with approval—or perhaps he couldn't agree more.
My god, brooms are really expensive! Just these things combined are enough to replace the sleeping bags twice!
Professor McGonagall only gave out a broom at the beginning, but all these brooms have to be used for accounts in the courtyard!
"That's good. Although there is still some financial pressure, fortunately we have support for brooms this semester. We don't have to save brooms for the batsmen. We can just replace them all."
Professor Flitwick picked up the list that Andrew had confirmed. "But the team must also train well. This sponsorship was donated by graduates who love Quidditch. Last year, the academic development of the college was very good, but the results of Quidditch were a bit poor, so they are very concerned."
"I see. After all, the academy's coffers still rely on donations."
Andrew finally understood why this time it was such a big deal - although he was not clear about the stratification of the Quidditch team, he was sure that everyone was treated differently.
In fact, the Seeker is the first line of defense because he has to keep an eye on the Snitch.
The goalkeeper is the second-line broom demand - the faster the broom, the more stable the goalkeeping.
The third line is the Chaser, whose skills can make up for some of their shortcomings. As for the Beater, since they have to fight against the Bludgers, their brooms are generally the worst.
Andrew clearly saw two people in the team with happy expressions on their faces. There was no doubt that these two people were the unlucky ones who were not abandoned.
"That's it. The selection will be held this week or next week. Our Seekers have graduated and they must be selected first so that they can adapt to high-speed flight as soon as possible."
Professor Flitwick put the list away. "I will order the broom as soon as possible, but now I need you to take a photo and send it to me in the thank you letter. In addition, please sign the thank you letter for me."
The next step was to take photos and sign autographs - it didn't take long to do, since the dean was there.
"Thank you for your contribution to the college," Professor Flitwick said happily, "Andrew, please stay for a while. Everyone can go back to your own business."
what?
Andrew was stunned for a moment, but the others soon left talking and laughing - Quidditch is the number one sport, and few people don't like it. For such a big event as changing the brooms of their own college, everyone should discuss it for at least a week, right?
"It's great, it's really energetic."
Professor Flitwick watched them leave with a smile, "Take a seat, Andrew."
Andrew sat in the chair opposite, listening.
There must be something that the professor left him alone for - and he just happened to know that something important had happened today.
"Prepare for this semester's courses. I don't want you to relax too much."
To Andrew's surprise, the professor actually asked him about his studies.
"Well, I've probably finished preparing for half of my lessons."
The professor nodded at Andrew's answer, obviously satisfied.
"Very good rhythm. What about your understanding of low-level spells?"
"It's still in progress, professor," Andrew positioned himself carefully, "I still can't simplify the spells, but the first-year spells are already used quite smoothly. But they still don't seem to be coherent enough - I always feel like they can be connected."
"Almost, but everyone's pace and adaptability are different." Professor Flitwick's smile became even more intense. "You work harder than I thought. Very good, Andrew. Keep it up."
"I'll take note, Professor."
"Also, don't study this semester with the goal of researching or improving a spell. Although the risk of learning spells is not that high, it is still easy to get hurt if you rush for quick success."
The professor gave instructions while writing down recommended books on parchment. "Don't blindly pursue spell power or anything like that. The two books in the restricted section may be helpful to you, but don't experiment with the dark magic in them."
"I will read it carefully, Professor."
"There's also a Time-Turner. Don't use it up just to make the most of your time. That's not for you," Professor Flitwick pushed the list of books over. "I've signed them. You can get them after you show them to Madam Pince."
The professor's expression was serious. "Also, I'm afraid you'll have to come to my office more often this semester."
Ok?
Before Andrew could figure out why, the professor smiled and said, "A lot of things happened last semester. You probably can't imagine how amazing the subsequent developments will be. I know a little bit about it - although breakthroughs rely on inspiration and hard work, luck is also essential."
Ah? ? ?
"Am I being treated as a mascot?"
Andrew was stunned for a moment, but he could only smile and say goodbye to the professor.
