Chapter 331 The banquet is over

Chapter 331 The banquet is over
'It's useful, but I'm afraid I'll end up with the same reputation as Mr. Filch.'

Andrew handed over the detention list and started jogging to the dining table of his own college.

These were all actions that had been discussed in advance - so the tension wasn't that great.

"Don't do this again next year, or we'll have to do it again. We didn't have any problems with the students from those two colleges, so it was a good arrangement."

Putting senior students in detention at the beginning of the school year would cause resentment, but discussing with their prefects to ask each grade to send someone responsible for the house is another matter.

Gryffindor was better off, but the Slytherin students almost started arguing over this honor - this was taking the blame for the house!
"Never mind. After Dumbledore's introduction, I can eat in peace. Although I ate a lot of snacks in the afternoon, this performance is still a bit exhausting."

He had already found his roommate's seat and now squeezed right in - even the junior students passing by were a little nervous when they saw him, but it wasn't a big problem as everyone soon got along well.

After finding a seat and sitting down, Andrew finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"I haven't seen you since I came back. Happy new semester."

He greeted his roommate in a low voice, while tilting his head to look towards the staff table - if nothing unexpected happened, Dumbledore was about to speak.

"You didn't even go to the staff table, Andrew."

Kevin muttered quietly.

"You must be joking. I'm just a student," Andrew said as a matter of course. "Keep your voice down. Dumbledore is about to speak."

Yes, after Professor McGonagall returned and sat down, Dumbledore stood up and smiled at everyone with gentle eyes.

"Welcome!" Dumbledore's voice resounded throughout the room. "Welcome to Hogwarts in the new school year. Today is a joyous day. I have a few words to say to you."

He looked around at all the students, "It's nice to see new faces. We are always developing, whether it's new faces or new ideas, it's good, Hogwarts needs them."

"Of course, new professors are indispensable, and I am also happy to welcome two new professors to join us."

Dumbledore turned his gaze towards Professor Nina.

"The first one is Professor Martin. She is a top student who graduated from Beauxbatons and a well-known adventurer."

Nina stood up with a serious expression - after watching Andrew perform for a long time, she calmed down.

"Beauxbatons?"

Andrew's roommates - no, even the students who were further away - all looked at him, as if they could find out more about the new professor from him.

"Is it the magic school in France?"

"Yes, without a doubt."

This news can still be confirmed, Andrew nodded.

Then, cheers rang out from the Ravenclaw table - the appearance of a professor from another school meant knowledge of a different style that might change drastically, and no one understood better than the students of Ravenclaw how much knowledge there was to learn.

Then the cheers and applause began to extend, making the applause sound quite shocking.

"As for our second professor," Dumbledore suppressed the applause and freed the new professor before Professor Nina could bear it, "Professor Kettleburn has decided to return for one year and bring our new professor Rubeus Hagrid to spend his internship year."

There was thunderous applause - but Andrew guessed that it was mostly for the old professor. However, the Gryffindor side cheered very loudly, and it was obvious that the main force welcoming Hagrid was there.

Hagrid's reaction was much bigger. He sat down with a red face - but Andrew noticed that Hagrid's clothes were quite formal. It was obvious that the old professor had begun to strictly discipline Hagrid.

"I hope the old professor can teach Hagrid to a satisfactory level - but this is difficult, as he himself is always on duty to check on him..."

Andrew shook his head silently. Dumbledore had already started his final speech. "That's all I have to say. Let's start eating!"

A rich meal began to appear on the table - the banquet had begun.

-

"There is something more urgent."

Andrew looked up after eating the last of his pudding, waiting for perhaps an after-meal speech - but there was none, the food disappeared, the banquet ended, and the professors began to leave, talking and laughing.

He stood up, shocking the first years at the next table to freeze, but Andrew didn't stop and walked straight to the Gryffindor table.

"Sorry, please move aside."

He kept muttering - on the other side Miss Granger and her two friends had stood up decisively and walked towards the staff table.

There was no doubt that they were going to send their blessings to Hagrid, and Andrew followed slowly behind - he had to send one too.

The three of them were faster than him, and by the time Andrew arrived, Hagrid had already responded to the blessing.

"Congratulations, Professor Hagrid."

"Thank you very much, Taylor."

Hagrid responded cheerfully - Professor Nina next to him seemed to want to say something, but hesitated and didn't come over. After all, she and Hagrid were not very familiar with each other, and Hagrid was not the only stranger.

"The old professor has recognized me," Hagrid said, trying to lower his voice. "He specifically asked me to make this wizard robe."

Hagrid was enthusiastic - but the trio next to him didn't know how to hold the conversation.

Because Ron was on the list, he was arrested and put in solitary confinement.

There was no other way. Each grade had to appoint someone to take responsibility, but Harry wasn't one of them. Harry wasn't in the car, and Miss Granger didn't perform well enough during the fight, so Ron had to take the blame.

Although it's fun to take the blame, everyone always feels a little uncomfortable facing the people in solitary confinement. After all, no one can change their perspective all of a sudden.

Fortunately, Andrew is thick-skinned.

"Excuse me, Mr. Granger, can we talk alone?"

He extended the invitation - it was not easy to say outright that he was called by the professor, after all, it was difficult to explain why he went to the professor in the middle of the night.

Although he didn't know what Professor McGonagall was going to do, Andrew habitually took the blame.

'Um? '

Professor Nina, who was hesitating, seemed to have discovered some new world. She opened her eyes wide, pricked up her ears, and waited to listen.

"I?"

Hermione looked at Andrew, stunned for a moment, and began to desperately recall what school rules she had violated recently - after all, there was only one day back to school, so there shouldn't be many violations.

"Didn't you trick Professor Lockhart into signing a book for me to read in the restricted section near the end of last year?"

She recalled this incident - it's hard to say, although it was returned at the end of the semester, there are still traces...

If not that, what would it be?
"Okay," she thought frantically, and decided to try denial.
