Chapter 312 Professor McGonagall's Joke
Chapter 312 Professor McGonagall's Joke
Andrew completed his summer homework very smoothly - the reason was simple, the most difficult subject for him, History of Magic, received great help from a formal professor, and the difficulty of the other subjects was almost non-existent.
As the saying goes, hard work pays off. The second-grade summer homework for spells was so easy for him that he didn't even need to look up any additional information.
Transfiguration was even easier - easier than dealing with documents in an office.
Only the herbs and potions took a little more time, and his second weakest subject, astronomy, was easily completed after clicking on the star map a few times - this thing is expensive for a reason.
By the time all the homework was done, August had just begun.
But here comes the problem—Professor McGonagall still didn't call him over and ask him to learn French well.
"That's strange. If we're going to discuss this, we should start studying now. Otherwise, how long will it take? We have to do this together to restart the Triwizard Tournament. There's been some time between now and then."
He thought about it, and then came to the library with his notebook - it was not time to read Human Transfiguration yet, so he planned to study some spells or something.
"Good morning, Andrew."
Professor Nina was already sitting at the table - she had been reading and studying in the library these days, and would occasionally come over to ask about unfamiliar words that she was not sure about.
Sometimes it was Andrew, sometimes it was Sirius who came over to study.
In addition, she often borrowed lesson plans from Sirius - in her words, "I never thought about becoming a professor, but if I want to do it, I'd better prepare everything as if it were an adventure."
This was much more comfortable than Professor Lockhart's ordinary preparation.
It was not only Sirius and Andrew who held this view. Even Professor Binns, who came to visit occasionally, approved of the new professor.
"Finally, there's a reliable professor after Quirrell."
However, considering that the reference object is Professor Quirrell, Andrew is not sure how to view this evaluation.
But there is no doubt that the contact during this period has made the three of them who stayed on campus become more familiar with each other.
There are still quite a few people staying on campus, and there are only three of them who stay in the library every day - another student who stays on campus, Harry Potter, currently his favorite hobby is to go to the playground and play broomstick alone, and he basically never comes to the library.
There are also a few people who stay in school and are simply laboratory staff. They don't have the time to come to the library. Occasionally, when they come to borrow a book, they leave with a frown on their face and at most say hello.
As for the professors who stayed on campus, they could not play together with them. The youngest professor, Professor Adams, worked in the greenhouse every day, and the other professors who stayed on campus were all busy with their own things. Most of them just borrowed a few books and left.
Andrew was very satisfied with this - completing homework, studying new spells, and occasionally listening to adventure stories or Sirius's school stories to pass the time couldn't be more perfect.
Of course, the ice cream supplied in the kitchen every day is even more amazing - after all, Hogsmeade is quite far away and transportation is inconvenient, and it is really not cost-effective to make a trip just for those new flavors.
"Andrew, what are you thinking about again?"
Sirius' voice rang out, waking Andrew from his thoughts as he was thinking about when to buy some new flavors of ice cream.
"What else is there to do with ice cream?"
Andrew leaned back in his chair and stretched.
"Have you finished Professor Binns's homework?"
"Done. I finally understand the goblin rebellion. I'll show it to Professor Binns at noon."
Sirius ruffled his hair, "It's extremely difficult."
"There are more difficult things," Andrew put away his notes, "Harry's summer homework, I'm afraid he hasn't done anything at all."
"Harry?"
Sirius was stunned for a moment, "Don't worry, it will appear by itself. It's not like he doesn't have an owl to use." So owls can not only bring letters from afar, but also bring homework, right?
Andrew shook his head helplessly - it was the first time he had seen a parent who let his children do what they wanted. It looked like the fun for the day was over.
"Harry Potter?"
Nina wasn't so sure.
"Of course, Harry, Sirius' godson, the student who hasn't been to the library since you came in to study all day," Andrew began to pack up his things, "By the way, you're not trying to continue searching, are you?"
"That's three times. I'll check it once more. If I still can't find it, I'll give up. There's no doubt that it's just an ordinary house."
"Of course," Andrew spread his hands, "You guys continue chatting, I'll go check out the office first."
When he went there in the morning, he didn't find any documents to be processed, so he came directly here. Now he will check them and try not to let the documents pile up.
But there still isn't any now - the professor isn't there either, which is surprising.
"Never mind, go eat first and come back to check in the evening."
But unexpectedly, during lunch, Professor McGonagall suddenly appeared and called him out alone.
"Taylor," the professor said, changing into a formal suit that was more casual than usual, "I'm going to go take care of that. You stay in the office and go there for half an hour every morning and afternoon to handle the documents."
"Yes, Professor."
But why didn’t you call me this time?
Perhaps seeing Andrew's confusion, the professor even added a few words.
"I won't take you with me this time. I'll go by myself. Beauxbatons is not Durmstrang. The magical atmosphere there is not that strong. There is no need to broaden your horizons. Besides, it is said that it is too difficult to master two foreign languages in one vacation. You need to give yourself a good rest and prepare for the next year of study."
"I'll be ready, Professor."
Andrew responded seriously.
"Also, you should also do a good job of communicating with the new professor. After all, she is not a wizard from this school, so she needs some time to adapt."
"I'll pay attention."
"That's good," Professor McGonagall nodded, "One more thing is that Beauxbatons is a little too shady."
"Hands too dark?"
Andrew looked confused.
"They will do anything to win. They are French."
...
Isn't it said that things in the Muggle world don't affect the wizarding world much?
"So I'm afraid their senior students will drug you. They can really do it."
???
Andrew was stunned.
"It's just a joke," the professor said with a smile, "but they came to the Warriors."
Andrew was greatly surprised, but Professor McGonagall shook her head and said, "Watch carefully at school. If all goes well, you have to be careful next year."
