Chapter 189 Clues
"Hogwarts is great..."

Although she was just transplanting herbs in the greenhouse with a few friends, Ginny was in high spirits.

She loved Gryffindor - it was different from her small room at home, it had a bunch of friends of the same age, all kinds of magical spells, and a bunch of seniors who were friendly to her.

Her brothers were very popular among the students (except Percy), so even many senior students knew her - some Hufflepuff senior students would even give her some food in a friendly way.

But Percy was also very nice. He bought her a whole set of new robes and a wand. Although she still brought some old books, it didn't matter.

And, Colin always brought some pictures of Harry, and she learned the combat spells very quickly in the common room... She was still a little shy, but at least she had something in common...

It’s really good… All those messy thoughts before the holiday seem a little strange now…

But... that diary...

Although she tried hard to forget the intimate diary that she threw away on the first day, it would still emerge from the bottom of her heart when Ginny was happy...

"Ron and the others were stopped. Was it because of the diary?"

"Mom, they said we were controlled. Does it have anything to do with me?"

'Is it just Scabbers, or is it Tom?'

What she knew was different from what the others knew. Ron and his friends were almost expelled from school for speeding, and the person who intercepted them on campus was not her father. Even Dumbledore went to check...

So, when she saw Ron and Harry having to do that punishment in the Great Hall, she found a secluded corner that night and threw the book away.

She still remembers that scene now—all the students were laughing together, and that nightmare-like boy was standing at the door of the auditorium, looking coldly at them...

"I'm hallucinating again... How could this happen..."

"Student Andrew, what's the matter?"

Professor Adams' voice rang out, pulling her from fantasy to the terrible reality.

'Don't look for me, don't look for me...'

But the demon's voice sounded, "Excuse me, Professor Adams, I need to find Ginny Weasley."

A sound of someone sucking in air rang in Ginny's ears. She couldn't explain how she numbly walked out of the crowd and came to the man whom Colin, a Muggle-born, called the Grim Ripper.

"Aren't you going to say goodbye to your friends?"

The devil's whisper rang out, almost firmly grasping Ginny's heart.

She felt like her voice was starting to sound tearful—no, as long as she opened her mouth, she would cry, right?

"Come with me, and with any luck we should just have a quick conversation."

These light words became her last straw, and she almost immediately caught up with the boy in front of her.

A few minutes? Or ten minutes?

She was so groggy that she lost track of time and was brought to the side of the path.

"Tell me the truth... well, everything. Don't hide anything. If you do that, I promise you won't be fired."

It was a very calm tone, but it directly shattered Ginny's fantasy.

But she also remembered the last sentence clearly - she would not be fired.

"Um... it's... uh, it's Flourish and Blotts. I found the diary in my Lockhart series. I don't know. I didn't mean to... uh..."

...

She cried as she told the story from the moment she found the diary, to how she cried and poured out all her thoughts into the diary, to how Percy bought a new robe and wand as if it were his life, to the letters from home, her love for Harry, and her speculation about the diary playing tricks on her. She told him everything at once.

"And that's all?"

"Wow... well, that's all. I've been studying normally since I lost it."

"Okay, go back... There's no need to expel you... Well, depending on the situation, I'll give you detention, which is the lightest punishment... Remember not to talk about these things when you go back - if everything is true, I can even put you in detention with Harry Potter."

After being told this, the grim ripper walked away with a thoughtful look. "Is it over?"

She was stunned for a moment, and the stone that had been pressing on her chest fell to the ground with a thud.

Only then did she think of the last sentence - if everything is true, you and Harry Potter can be put in detention together.

The tear-stained face could no longer control the upward movement of the mouth corners.

-

"Damn it... it's lost... is it over if it's lost?"

Andrew scratched his head - in order to ask Ginny, he almost forced himself to listen to the crying of a little girl with a shrill voice.

Fortunately, I gained something - no wonder the chicken didn't die and the diary disappeared.

"Let's go check Mr. Filch's lost and found first. If it's not there... we'll have to distribute it to the whole school... but that will be too conspicuous... and we may not be able to get it back... We still have to keep an eye on the rooster... Okay, let's go..."

With a bit of resentment, Andrew walked quickly towards Mr. Filch's office.

Then, he got a surprise.

"A small black diary with Tom Riddle written on it? Yes, there is one. Two Hufflepuff students brought it to me. They said that they didn't know who had lost it and it looked disgusting."

It would be strange if they didn't hate it...Hufflepuff's protective magic has kept away any dark wizards for over a thousand years...their common room subconsciously rejects this thing.

Of course, this magic is just speculation, and there is not even a record of the decoration on campus, but the facts are very telling.

Fortunately, there are more Hufflepuffs, so the chances of picking it up are higher. If a Slytherin picked it up... forget it.

"Great, Mr. Filch, I need it urgently... I've been looking for it for a long time."

Andrew almost blurted out, which made Filch look suspicious. After a while, he nodded and said, "Okay, you are special. This kind of magic prop is fine, but if there are any banned items, they will still be confiscated."

He half-complained as he spoke to Andrew while opening the lost and found drawer.

"Gone!"

Filch's expression was somewhat angry. "Someone was so immoral as to steal lost property!"

!!!

No, who did it?

Andrew was also stunned - he thought it was over.

What should I do now? Lost items are easy to find, but if they are stolen, how do I catch the thief? Do I have to wait for the rooster to attack?

"It must be the Weasley twins!"

Filch said viciously.

It's not a subjective judgment - Mr. Filch.

Don’t stereotype students.

"Since they came to school, the number of people making mistakes has almost doubled, and they are all related to them - as long as corporal punishment can be used, I can get my things back today!"

How could he be so well-informed?

Andrew did not doubt a veteran administrator's knowledge of students.

There was no need for corporal punishment, but the twins could be found—they were the lower grade students being questioned anyway.

'I hope they're as good as Filch says...'

Andrew thanked Filch and changed the scene again - this time he needed to be more careful, as the Weasley twins were not as easy to fool as Ginny.
