Chapter 163: Not quite what I imagined
Chapter 163: It's Not Quite What I Imagined
"Please come in."
When Andrew rang the doorbell of the headmaster's office, Dumbledore's voice came from inside.
"The stone sculptures and doorbells guarding the gate... I still feel a little weird no matter how many times I come here..."
Shaking his head to get rid of the thought, Andrew quickly walked up to Dumbledore and handed him the reply document from the Ministry of Magic.
After about three minutes of reading, Dumbledore looked up from the document and looked at Andrew with a gentle look in his eyes. "So, the matter has been dealt with?"
"That's about it, Professor. Let's discuss the time to hand over Peter, and this matter will be completely over."
Andrew thought about it for a moment and responded in the affirmative.
"That's some rare good news, maybe we should celebrate with some mead - well, how about some butterbeer?"
Before Andrew could refuse or agree, two wine bottles and corresponding cups appeared on Dumbledore's table. They opened and filled automatically, and then one of the cups began to fly to Andrew's side and shake.
"Sit down and relax. There is always work to be done in school. It is necessary to learn how to rest."
After the chair popped out automatically, Andrew chose to slack off at work like the principal.
'It tastes good, better than what they brought back...'
He took a big bite happily.
"That's the way it should be," Dumbledore raised his glass. "Don't waste sweets."
Only after Andrew happily finished a full bottle of butterbeer did Dumbledore start chatting with him. "Minerva said that your Transfiguration has improved rapidly. Can you show it to me?"
He tapped the stopper of the butterbeer on the table with his finger, and a raw egg appeared in front of Andrew.
what?
Andrew's eyes widened, then he looked at the egg. He almost immediately pulled out his wand and began to communicate with this thing that looked like an egg.
This power, this breath of life...
If he hadn't seen it with his own eyes, he would have suspected that someone was telling a joke - this was a real, authentic, hatchable egg.
Moreover, there is no problem of breath dissipation...
He waved his wand carefully, and then adjusted his magic power with great concentration.
Just as he had practiced countless times, the egg began to shrink, change, and twist, and a living Flobberworm appeared on the table.
"Not bad, very good."
Dumbledore's admiration made Andrew blush a little - turning inanimate objects into living beings, without even the slightest trace of Transfiguration remaining... This was a realm he dared not even imagine.
If the opponent wasn't Dumbledore, and Andrew didn't spend enough time immersed in Transfiguration, he might have really thought about what I learned...
"Even I can't say anything. Minerva's teaching on Transfiguration is impeccable. As for Transfiguration—" Dumbledore naturally showed a fearful expression, "If you waste your time on other subjects, Minerva will kill me."
He looked at Andrew with a calm tone.
"Wait a little longer. Come back to me when you feel you are having trouble with Transfiguration. Now, get back to work. Everything is fine."
"Okay, Professor."
Andrew originally thought that Dumbledore would teach him some skills or something, but Andrew only realized now that if there really was any unique Transfiguration skills, Professor McGonagall would have learned them long ago and taught them to him long ago...
"I'll go back and think about the range casting problem seriously..."
With this thought in mind, Andrew prepared to turn around and leave.
"Please wait a moment, Taylor."
The portrait on the wall behind Dumbledore suddenly spoke. "Why, what do you want, Phineas?"
"Lend me one thousand Galleons first, Albus, as a token of the Black family's gratitude to Mr. Taylor. When Sirius takes over the family property, I will ask him to donate some expenses."
"You guessed it from just this information, Phineas?"
"Of course, he is the last bloodline after all. Although this classmate Taylor accidentally revealed it, the Black family cannot pretend that nothing happened."
"You're such a generous cheapskate, Phineas."
Dumbledore shook his head. "Wait a moment, Andrew."
He quickly wrote a note on parchment, signed his name carefully, and then began to search around on the table again.
After a moment, Dumbledore found his seal from a pile of snacks and stamped it on the note.
"Go to the finance office and withdraw it. Don't worry - this is the cheapest reward he can give you, you cheapskate. The school will receive even more donations later, so don't worry about the accounting."
Phineas was obviously not happy to continue this conversation. He ignored Dumbledore's verbal attack and closed his eyes to rest.
"You are indeed a stingy person... Knowledge or magic props are the most valuable... For this stuff, I can only say that you can use some cost-effective things appropriately in school..."
Andrew, who made a living from the Astronomy Tower, now had a bulging wallet and had some understanding of what was precious in the wizarding world - what Dumbledore said was true.
But he still had to be polite - after all, it was reasonable for the other party not to give him anything, and after all, he was just doing it as he was doing his job.
"Thank you for your generosity, Mr. Black."
Andrew bowed slightly and left with the note.
Without Dumbledore's guidance, one thousand Galleons...is barely a gain.
He had never doubted that Professor McGonagall was right.
With Professor McGonagall's precious time, she could spend an average of more than ten minutes a day to examine his progress and plan his next studies. No wizard would think that such a luxurious way was a joke.
After reporting to Professor McGonagall, Andrew went to the finance office to withdraw some Galleons and a Gringotts draft. Andrew sent an owl to transfer the money to his other account. Although it was a bit of a cover-up, it was better than nothing.

"You've been thinking since you came back this afternoon. What's wrong?"
"I have a difficult problem. I am trying to sort out my thoughts."
Andrew smiled back at Hal and took a bite of his baked potato.
"This is rare, so take your time. You never know when a surprise will come. For example, the Gryffindor guys were very happy today because Professor Lockhart gave them a good lesson."
"Not shorthand? Gryffindors wouldn't be interested in that, would they?"
"No, just a group of elves rushing out of the cage."
"Ok?"
"The Cornish pixies, a bunch of troublemakers, Professor Lockhart caught them in a cage, and then the Gryffindors had a great fight!"
"Pixie...cage..."
Andrew’s eyes widened…cage?
"Thank you, I think I have an idea, I'll go to the kitchen first!"
