Chapter 110 The nightmare comes
"Before I came to the post, I was told it was just a class...haha..."
Andrew leaned back in his office chair, mumbling quietly, while Huffman looked at the office door and then nodded decisively.
There's no way, now all the work in Professor McGonagall's office is done by two people.
It's not that Professor McGonagall is targeting them, but it has to be this way.
It was mid-May, and spring break was long over—Huffman had been working the same shift as Andrew since Easter.
Fifth-year students have to prepare for OWLs, seventh-year students have to prepare for NEWTs and graduation employment examinations. Professor McGonagall has to focus her work on providing employment counseling to fifth-year students and communicating with the Examination Authority. What should she do with the rest of the work?
There are only two prefects in the sixth grade, so one has to stay to look after the house, right? Otherwise, what if the lounge is demolished after the exam?
It would be impossible to keep Huffman if we kept the others - the boys couldn't enter the girls' dormitory, and nothing could be done if a fight broke out or someone had a meltdown due to an exam.
Even so, Huffman had to thank God - before Andrew came, he had done this job alone.
It is true that the class leader has the power, but he has to really show up when something happens!
Andrew no longer even helps with marking homework, but takes on the homework for grades one to three - Professor McGonagall exempted him from the Transfiguration homework, leaving him time to mark it.
Reports requesting funding projects are now all rejected, repair reports have been given higher priority, and Mr. Filch's punishment of confinement for students who violate the rules has been made an exception for fifth and seventh grades, but a large number of extra house points will be deducted.
There has been an increase in conversations in the office - Professor McGonagall has set up a small room specifically for listening to students' questions about exam stress.
Andrew and his colleagues had to work longer hours - from one class to two classes, and sometimes they had to come over to work overtime at night.
Anyway - exam month is coming, and the Headmaster's...well, Professor McGonagall's office is completely ready.
-
"Library, add another area?"
"Yes... but it will require the use of magic to rebuild it. Please report to the professor."
"I think so too. Okay, let's do it..."
"Centaurs need... hair conditioner?"
Huffman read it calmly.
"feasible."
"feasible."
……
For things that don't cost too much Galleons or go against common sense, as long as the two people agree, they will mark them as passed. If there are disputes, it will depend on who can convince the other. If the disputes are big, they will be reported together with those that cost more.
Anyway, the pressure was enough, and Andrew was grateful to himself more than ever for writing Dumbledore's wonderful books - if all the students hadn't been concentrated in the library, the workload would have easily increased by several percent.
“As the semester draws to a close, there are more things to do…”
Huffman sighed, "By the way, I heard you guys slept outside again yesterday?"
"Hmm..." Andrew nodded. "The holiday mode Carmen Ring is not allowed to be used normally, because students should be encouraged to learn to explore and solve problems on their own, and to be responsible for their own mistakes."
Anyway, everyone is outside, so no one is dissatisfied.
"It's legal to sleep outside... Yesterday our school caught another idiot who was trying to sneak out... He was assigned to Snape's place..."
Huffman shook his head. "Fortunately, the professor didn't let us deal with it, otherwise I wouldn't be able to live in the hospital...
"Don't even think about it - if your class leader handles it, you will only get scolded. If I intervene, I'm afraid I will be dragged to the basement classroom and beaten by your college..."
Andrew didn't fall for it - Huffman had his fun and ran away, and he didn't know how long he would have to work here. It was okay to mark assignments, but how about dealing with students who violated the rules?
Dreaming! "You are such a boring person..."
Huffman put the file down. "I have to work alone for a while. You can go home now."
"Counting the accounts? I wish you happiness."
Andrew quickly packed up his things - he had signed a confidentiality agreement, and the only documents he couldn't deal with were Gryffindor's accounts.
What belongs to the school belongs to the school, and what belongs to the college belongs to the college - what has been purchased for the college throughout the year, how much is the surplus, and the list of books that need donations and grants next year...
The school year is over, and this thing must be done properly, otherwise it will be difficult to settle the accounts for next year.
Although Professor McGonagall was reporting from the left hand to the right hand, the process was still necessary. As a Ravenclaw, Andrew would not be able to handle these things even if he had signed the agreement.
"Keep working, I'm on vacation."
Andrew waved his hand proudly and said goodbye without any regrets.
He didn't want to know about these messy secrets at all - he wanted to go back to sleep well, and then go to the library to read the bound volume of "Transfiguration Today".
This was what Professor McGonagall had instructed him to do half a month ago - he had been too busy recently and had no time to read it.
-
"Check school bags, no food allowed."
The student who was put in solitary confinement stood sadly at the door of the library, muttering to himself, and waving the small flag with changing fonts in his hand from time to time.
This was Madam Pince's countermeasure when Filch arrested too many students at once. She placed the students in detention at the door as notice bearers, thus preventing a large number of Hufflepuffs from falling into Filch's clutches.
Of course, those who bring it in on purpose or who are not aware of it or speak too loudly deserve to be kicked out and arrested.
A small number of people did indeed deserve to be locked up, but arresting every one of them was too much - Madam Pince wanted them to take good care of the books, not to deliberately drive them away for the sake of confinement.
But it has to be said that this trick works very well. The Hufflepuffs are used to opening and eating the cakes in front of the unlucky ones - and even feeding them occasionally.
Anyway, when Andrew went over, he saw the guy waving the flag had an egg tart stuffed into his mouth.
Just as he was sighing, Mrs. Pings's powerful voice rang out in the library.
"Fighting is strictly prohibited in the library. Please report to Mr. Filch's office!"
The two students were almost tied up tightly by their schoolbags. They were thrown out in a ball and landed at the entrance of the library.
But Mr. Filch arrived in less than three minutes and left disappointed - a fifth-year student.
It was probably these two students who started it all - the fifth graders began to become extremely irritable, and they could be seen breaking down in the corridor from time to time.
There is no way. After five years of studying in Hogwarts, there is only this one exam. Except for top students like Percy, few people would be so careless as to think that they are ready.
But it was no use. Time passed day by day. While Andrew and his colleagues were working overtime, students were discharged from the hospital due to illness and were recovering from collapse. The nightmare of all fifth-year students at Hogwarts began.
"Confirm accommodation and food issues one last time, Mr. Taylor."
"Please ask Hagrid to check the carriage again, Mr. Huffman."
"Be prepared to work overtime for another day, and meet the examiner with me tomorrow..."
