Chapter 355 The Water Dragon King's "Ex-Wife"?

Although Kunlun Hill is an island, it is not small in size.

In fact, it is an archipelago. The largest island is like a towering tree rising straight up from the sea. The island is surrounded by high cliffs on all sides, and even the lowest cliff is twenty or thirty feet above the sea.

The surrounding islands, scattered like stars, are even more so, each one resembling a towering pillar suddenly thrust into the sea, none with sandy beaches or mudflats. Viewed from the sky, the archipelago appears as long, slender arcs, seemingly layered upon each other, enveloping the main island.

It's more accurate to call Kunlun Hill a "cliff" than a "hill," and it's unclear how the name originated.

After passing through the sea filled with storm clouds and thunder, Kunlun Hill was within reach.

Huai Ren led Baili Shuang to the northwest side of Kunlun Hill Main Island. This place had little vegetation, was full of strange rocks, and was ravaged by sea winds. It was very desolate, and there was no sign of human habitation in sight.

When they flew to the vicinity of a stone mountain, Baili Shuang was surprised to find that there was a tall building standing on the stone mountain!

The building resembles an ancient European castle on Earth in its form, but its style is completely different. It is a complex of buildings made of polished, multicolored minerals, and several square houses tightly pieced together.

These houses are all close together, and at first glance they look like a building. In fact, they are more than a dozen houses of different sizes and heights, arranged in a staggered and orderly manner, which has its own unique beauty.

The tallest building was at least a hundred feet high. Its upper part had no walls, but was supported by several golden pillars, surrounded by a hazy, misty barrier that obscured its interior. The lower part was constructed from polished, multicolored minerals.

Some houses don't even use ore; instead, they are entirely supported by pillars and surrounded by barriers. These barriers are maintained by arrays, much like the one-way transparent glass used in modern skyscrapers on Earth. This not only ensures privacy but also, more importantly, the array barriers do not prevent air circulation.

Of course, this method is also very expensive to maintain, so it is not commonly used in cultivation sects. For the Taiyin Sect, it is even less worthwhile than glass.

As you get closer, you can see female cultivators moving between the houses, but you can't see a single "dragon"!
When Huai Ren first saw this building, he told Bai Li Shuang that it was the Rainbow Stone Palace of the Yinglong King. However, Bai Li Shuang had seen many dragons appearing in the form of dragons at the Crystal Palace of the Taishui Dragon King, and assumed that dragons were proud and would not like to appear in human form. So, seeing the Rainbow Stone Palace, she was naturally quite surprised: "The place where the Yinglong King resides is actually where people walk in human form?"

Huai Ren explained in a low voice, "The Yinglong King has an eccentric personality. She likes human clothes and jewelry, so she often takes human form. The cultivators living in her Rainbow Stone Palace... uh, mostly follow her example."

The two talked about this in private, which did not slow down their flight. In the blink of an eye, they arrived at the arched gate of the Rainbow Stone Palace.

It's called a gate, but it's actually an extremely rare arched "archway" made of large, irregular blocks of colored ore. It has neither the tiled eaves of a typical archway nor several doorways; it's just a bare arched "door frame." A plaque hangs on the "door frame," with three characters written in an extremely complex script.

Baili Shuang shouldn't have recognized this kind of writing, but she felt it was somewhat familiar. Then, as if she had been given some kind of knowledge, she recognized that the three characters were "Caishi Palace".

Unfortunately, she came to Kunlun Hill alone this time, without any players, and she quickly forgot about this little incident. If the team members in charge of the history and literature research of the Guixu Realm from the China Project team saw this, they would probably be wide-eyed, because it is almost identical to the inscriptions on bronze vessels from the pre-Qin period!
Before they could even get close, a sharp-eyed female cultivator spotted them first. She squinted and carefully examined Huai Ren, then her face lit up with surprise and delight: "You are... that boy from the Tai Shui Dragon King's family!?" Huai Ren didn't recognize the female cultivator, but he clearly recognized her from her voice, and was also somewhat surprised: "Aunt? What are you doing here?"

Upon hearing the way the two addressed each other, Baili Shuang suddenly felt something was amiss—Huai Ren was a Kui Dragon, and Huai Ren's aunt must at least have Kui Dragon blood, yet she was living with Ying Long Wang. Logically speaking, Ying Long Wang and Tai Shui Long Wang should have a good relationship...

But the fact that everyone in the Taishui Dragon Palace kept it a closely guarded secret back then wasn't fake...

Baili Shuang felt increasingly frustrated.

The female cultivator replied, "Your mother hasn't been feeling well lately, so I've come to bring her some medicine."

Huai Ren immediately became anxious and pressed, "How could my mother be unwell?!"

"She went to the Five-Colored Formation with the Dragon King a while ago, and together they killed several ferocious beasts that had been wandering in the formation for too long. She was injured in the process."

Just as she finished speaking, Huai Ren was about to rush into the Cai Shi Palace when the female cultivator quickly stopped him, saying, "Don't panic, don't panic. It's just a minor injury. You'll recover in about six months. You don't need to worry too much."

Huai Ren breathed a sigh of relief and then began to introduce Baili Shuang and the female cultivator to each other: "Aunt, this is Baili Shuang, a disciple of the Taiyin Sect. Fellow Daoist Baili has come to Caishi Palace to pay respects to King Yinglong."

"Fellow Daoist Baili, this is my aunt, Lord Kui Ling."

Baili Shuang, who had been watching the whole thing intently, hadn't even had time to shake off her fascination when the two of them suddenly glanced at her, and she almost choked on her saliva.

She gave an awkward laugh: "Haha, Hello, Fellow Daoist Lingjun."

Kui Lingjun could tell at a glance that Baili Shuang's cultivation level was not very high, but he could not see that she was a puppet. He assumed that she was a little nervous, so he smiled reassuringly and nodded, saying, "Fellow Daoist Baili, you have come a long way and have had a hard time. Yinglong King is called Jinyi, and she happens to be in Caishi Palace recently. If you are not in a hurry, you can rest for a day, and I will take you to find her tomorrow."

Huai Ren knew that Baili Shuang was a little anxious, but he still didn't speak without permission. He just turned his head and looked at Baili Shuang questioningly.

Baili Shuang originally wanted to see Yinglong King immediately, but then she thought that the matter of Tiangui Mountain had been over for a thousand years, so there was no need to rush. It would be impolite to see the host immediately after coming to visit.

Furthermore, judging from the implication in Huai Ren and Kui Lingjun's conversation, Huai Ren's birth mother, the "ex-wife" of the Tai Shui Dragon King, seemed to be in the Cai Shi Palace. Perhaps they had arranged this so that Huai Ren could see his mother first. Therefore, she felt it inappropriate to be so tactless as to insist on immediately finding the Ying Long King. So she nodded and said, "Then I'll trouble you, Fellow Daoist Lingjun." (End of this chapter)
