Chapter 7407 - On the Lightest

Chapter 7407 (Seven Thousand Four Hundred and Seven) - On the Lightest Side
The gray-handed man deliberately said, "Is it possible for me not to answer?"

The brown-handed man said, "That's possible, but you might also answer that."

The gray-handed man said, "Then I'll answer."

“That’s satisfying enough,” said the brown-handed man.

The gray-handed man asked, "Now you're suddenly willing to hear my straightforward answer?"

The brown-handed man laughed and said, "I just think it's fine this way."

"But aren't we supposed to be stalling for time?" Grayhand asked.

"'Need' to stall for time?" the Brown-Handed Man said with a laugh. "Why does it become 'need' to stall for time? The way you put it makes it sound like our main task during this period is to stall for time. No, I seem to be underestimating it."

The gray-handed man said, "How can you say it's too lenient?"

"To put it bluntly, what you just said gave me the impression that our 'goal' for this period of time is simply to delay. You're not even talking about the 'main task' anymore; saying 'main task' makes it sound like there are 'secondary tasks.' Calling it a 'goal' is quite a strong statement," the brown-handed man laughed.

The gray-handed man said, "But calling it 'target' makes me want to laugh."

“You’re already laughing. You said it with a laugh, as if you couldn’t hold it in,” the brown-handed man chuckled.

The gray-handed man said, "I did want to laugh, and I did laugh. Didn't you laugh? I could tell you laughed too."

The brown-handed man chuckled, “I admit I laughed. But weren’t I laughing the whole time?”

The gray-handed man replied, "It seems so."

"It seems so? You're being so vague. It's like you don't even know if it's the same thing," said the brown-handed man.

The gray-handed man said, "I didn't pay much attention to that just now." "Didn't pay much attention, yet you said 'it seems so'?" the brown-handed man said with a smile.

The gray-handed man said, “No problem. I said ‘not really paying attention,’ not that I didn’t pay attention at all. I was talking and thinking at the same time, but I felt like you were laughing the whole time. You said to me, ‘But weren’t I laughing the whole time?’ You used ‘but,’ which means you were telling me that you were laughing the whole time. It was like you were ‘telling’ me, and what you told me was consistent with my previous feeling, so I said ‘it seemed like.’ Do you think this explanation makes sense?”

The brown-handed man laughed and said, "It should be plausible."

“See, you’re saying things that sound so uncertain,” said the gray-handed man.

"I haven't thought it through yet," said the brown-handed man. "From what you said, it seems to make sense, so I just said it that way."

"So our situations are actually pretty much the same," said the Gray-Handed Man.

“More than that!” the brown-handed man said with a laugh.

"What are you going to say next? I have a feeling," said the gray-handed man.

“Your hunch is right,” said the brown-handed man.

"You've already said my premonition is correct before I've even explained what it is," said the Gray-Handed Man.

“I’m sure,” said the Brown-Handed Man.

"You're becoming more and more assertive in your statements?" Grayhand asked.

The brown-handed man laughed and said, "It's not so much that we're 'getting bolder,' but we're definitely bold right now. During this period of time."

"Is it 'only for this period of time' again?" Grayhand asked.

“That’s right,” the brown-handed man replied with a smile.
