Chapter 7404 (Seven Thousand Four Hundred and Four) Even Deeper
The gray-handed man laughed and said, "You were thinking quite a lot just now."

The brown-handed man laughed and said, "So you think I think too much?"

The gray-handed man laughed and said, "This is not necessarily a cause-and-effect relationship. It's possible that we're both overthinking it."

The brown-handed man said, "See, as soon as you talk about me, you admit you're overthinking it."

“I don’t think I’m overthinking it,” said the gray-handed man.

"You admitted it all, and now you're changing your mind?" the brown-handed man asked.

The gray-handed man said, "I have my reasons."

“Tell me your reasons. I’d like to hear what reasons you have,” the brown-handed man laughed.

“It’s only after you get serious that I start to think back and wonder what would have happened if I hadn’t said those things,” Grayhand said. “If I had simply not said something like ‘It doesn’t seem very firm,’ would you have even bothered to explain so earnestly?”

"Hey, you said it, and you even said it with a smile," the brown-handed man said. "I don't think there's anything wrong with what you did. It was just a joke, wasn't it?"

The gray-handed man said, "Although I was joking, you explained it so seriously that I started to wonder if my words caused you to react that way."

“I explained, and I didn’t lose anything,” the brown-handed man replied.

Grayhand said, "It seems we've lost something very important."

"What is that?" the brown-handed man asked.

“It’s all about the casual feel,” said the gray-handed man.

The brown-handed man said, "This is my own business. Besides, I've also caused you to lose your sense of responsibility."

The gray-handed man asked, "Why are you bringing this up?" The brown-handed man replied, "I just said to you in this tone: 'Yes, I'm just taking it as not being true, so I said "for the time being." Since I'm "taking it as" not being true, I don't think I need to be too firm, otherwise I'll feel like I'm deceiving you.' I was actually being too serious, and I said 'deceive,' which is too harsh. I'm thinking I should have phrased it differently."

The gray-handed man said, "So, this time you're imitating your own tone of voice just now?"

The man with the brown hands asked, "What's wrong? Why did you suddenly ask that?"

The gray-handed man replied, "I want to say that this time your imitation of your own tone of voice wasn't quite right."

The brown-handed man said, “You can take this as me repeating what I’ve said before.”

The gray-handed man said, "Can't this be considered imitation?"

“Actually, it was an imitation,” Brownhand said. “But since you said it wasn’t similar enough, I’d say it was a repetition.”

"In your view, does repetition not include imitating the 'tone' of your own speech just now?" Grayhand asked. "Is that why you called it 'repetition'?"

"More or less," said the brown-handed man.

The gray-handed man said, “There’s no need for that. Even if you say you’re just ‘repeating’ what you just said, I can still continue to express what I was trying to say. What I’m trying to say is that your tone was ‘deeper’ the second time you spoke.”

“How do you define ‘heavier’?” the brown-handed man asked.

"It just gives people a less casual feeling," said the gray-handed man.

The brown-handed man said, "I don't need to deny that."

Grayhand said, "I don't think this is your fault. I caused this. If I had seemed more relaxed earlier, perhaps your reaction later would have been different."
