"Wait, what if I said I might change my mind?" Grayhand said. "Then you won't say anything, right?"

The brown-handed man said, "I'll tell you."

"Would you say so if I changed my mind?" Grayhand asked.

“Yes,” the brown-handed man replied.

"Then what was your purpose in asking me if I would change my mind?" Grayhand asked.

The brown-handed man laughed and said, "What purpose could I possibly have? I just wanted to ask if you would change your mind, and that's how I found out."

"Anyway, you'll tell me whether I change my mind or not. Whether you know it or not won't affect your decision, so why are you asking?" Grayhand asked.

"Is it possible that you just want to know if you'll change your mind?" the brown-handed man asked.

"You can understand even without asking, right?" Grayhand said with a smile.

"How can you understand if you don't ask?" the brown-handed man asked.

“Just wait,” said the gray-handed man.

“If I don’t ask, you won’t tell me on your own, will you?” the brown-handed man said.

The gray-handed man said, "It doesn't matter if I don't bring it up." The brown-handed man said, "Of course it will matter if you don't bring it up. Am I just supposed to wait around?"

The gray-handed man laughed and said, "What do you mean by 'waiting idly'? You'll find out whether I've changed my mind or not once you've waited."

“What I want to know is whether you will change your mind, not whether you have changed your mind,” the Brown-Handed Man said.

The gray-handed man smiled.

"What does your smile mean this time?" the brown-handed man asked.

The gray-handed man said, "That means I understand what you mean, is that alright?"

The brown-handed man asked, "What have you come to understand?"

The gray-handed man laughed and said, "I understand. You can't know for sure whether I'll go back on my word, no matter how long you wait."

The brown-handed man laughed and said, "This is it. I knew you would know it."

The gray-handed man deliberately said, "Then you can keep waiting."

"Keep waiting?" the brown-handed man said. "Are you doing this on purpose?"

“Obviously,” said the gray-handed man. “Continuing to wait doesn’t mean we’ll know if I’ll change my mind.”

“Exactly. You may not have changed your mind now, but what about the next moment?” the brown-handed man said. “Even if I wait a long time, will you change your mind even later?”

The gray-handed man laughed and said, "That's how it is."

“That’s why I have to ask to find out,” the brown-handed man laughed. “Besides, why should I wait when a question could be answered with a simple question?”

The gray-handed man laughed and said, "That makes sense."

"So you understand why I asked?" the brown-handed man asked.

“Actually, I already understood,” the gray-handed man chuckled.

The brown-handed man said, "The way you laugh sounds like you've succeeded."

"You could say you've achieved your goal, wouldn't you say?" the gray-handed man asked with a smile.

"What do you want to say?" the brown-handed man asked.

"I was trying to say that I'm a 'petty person who has achieved success'," the gray-handed man laughed. "See, doesn't that kind of imply it?"
