Chapter 1001 Shadow Pendant
Chapter 1001 Shadow Pendant (Thirty-Seven)
"Hey……"
The sound of cars roaring in the rain drowned out his greeting.
The person he called looked back, her delicate ponytail falling back behind her shoulders, her pupils sparkling and bright as she saw him.
The book she was holding was getting tighter and tighter, and the school uniform made her look so petite.
"What's wrong?" She looked at him panting and propping up his thighs, and a gust of wind blew his fragrance onto her face.
"You are...you are...Chen Lin...right..."
He supported his waist, and in order to make himself look dignified, he held his breath quickly and then exhaled.
"What's wrong...this...classmate..."
She took a step back with some confusion, looking at his appearance. She couldn't think of his name in her mind, so she could only frown slightly and ask slowly, a little hesitantly.
"Nice to meet you! Classmate Chen Lin!"
He suddenly stretched out his hand and placed his broad palm in front of her.
Chen Lin did not extend his hand, but his smile grew wider.
He smiled and took his hand back: "I'm from the Student Union... Here, we need your cooperation in the Student Union's questionnaire survey. I didn't find you in the classroom just now, so..."
He narrowed his eyes, making his smile even brighter.
"What survey...questionnaire..." She was a little confused. His smile was too bright, which made her unconsciously alert.
"It's like this... We are investigating the after-school study plans of outstanding students in the school so that we can make a student union excellent study plan to promote it, so that students can have goals, motivation and role models in their after-school studies. We can use the power of role models to improve students' grades and drive the improvement of the learning atmosphere in the school."
He spoke fluently about the student union's mission, and although she refused, she still listened carefully.
"I'm sorry, I'm not an excellent student. I have things to do."
Chen Lin turned and left, and he suddenly walked in front of her.
"Student Chen Lin, you are really joking. If the top ten students in liberal arts are not good students, then who else is a good student... just cooperate with someone."
"Student, don't waste my time."
Chen Lin took a detour very rudely. He took a step forward to catch up, but was grabbed by a hand. He turned around and saw a pair of serious eyes under the black robe, which made his smile stop on his face.
Or perhaps it was because Hong was too terrifying that his mind was unable to make sense in this safe ivory tower.
"Classmate...who...are you?" He was a little confused and was so frightened that he stuttered a little.
In his eyes, the man in black robe flashed behind Chen Lin like a ghost, and tapped Chen Lin's shoulder like a hero tapping an acupoint. Chen Lin collapsed in the arms of the man in black robe. He screamed in surprise, and the rumbling sound of the car covered it up again.
He looked around in panic, but apart from his panic, everyone else ignored his surprise and what he meant as if nothing had happened.
Just as he looked at the man in black robe again to confirm, the man in black robe stood there carrying the unconscious Chen Lin, like a stiff stone wrapped in a black robe. He slowly turned his head to look at him, and there was a crisp sound of his foot moving, which made him take a step back in fear.
He didn't understand what was going on and stared into those scarlet eyes. He couldn't shout for help and could only let the world spin in front of his eyes.
He collapsed to the ground, and the students around him exclaimed.
He heard the rustling, rustling, noise of raindrops...
Snow curtains fall from the sky! Wind blades and snow blades!
The saplings outside the house slapped against the open window, making a loud noise like thunder and lightning. "Miss Colin..." The maid pulled the window open against the raging snow. For a moment, the snow outside the window cut her hand, and the blood mark on her hand bloomed red.
"This won't work..." The maid slowly got down and wiped the snow water off the ground with a towel.
The white light of the glowing crystal and the warm light of the flint intertwined together, making the entire pink boudoir much darker.
Perhaps it was the snow that pressed down the sky and dyed the night ashes.
"Cheer up... no matter what..." She wiped while looking at Colin who was sitting on the bed. Everything about her was like a discarded doll, falling on the sheets, alone, with her hair messed up by the wind and snow, and only her empty eyes staring at the tree outside the window.
She stopped blinking and stopped thinking.
No matter what the maid said, she didn't respond.
But she was still crying, and the hot tears flowing from her dying eyes soaked her bedding, and the flying birds were rusted on it, joy, forever.
The maid sobbed softly: "Miss Colin... no matter what... we can't go on like this..."
“Heh…heh…cough…cough…cough…”
Colin smiled bitterly and coughed...
"If this continues..." A doctor stood at the door, shook his head and sighed at him in military uniform: "I'm afraid Miss Colin can't survive this snow... Commander Kraft... I... have tried my best..."
Kraft's right hand was bandaged and half of his body was wrapped in gauze. He looked at Colin, then turned around and watched the doctor leave with his head down.
There was an echo of wind and snow in the corridor of Colin Manor.
"Colin...Miss Collidge..."
Kraft sighed out Colin's name sadly.
"Father……"
Colin cried once more, and she fell on the quilt like a weightless bird, crying. Her sobs wet her wings, leaving an indelible scar.
A haggard woman walked through the corridor and stopped beside Kraft, looking at her daughter, but she could only stand there dignifiedly, putting her hands on her waist and exhaling quietly.
The black mourning dress trailed on the ground, just like a heart that had been hollowed out and laid flat on the ground.
"Captain Kraft, please tell Lord Longxu that my husband will definitely complete what he promised. Please don't blame yourself too much, Captain Kraft."
With shaking hands, she breathed another sentence into her lungs: "Coric...she is a strong child...she will be fine..."
Her eyes fell on her daughter, but she couldn't move forward. Kraft closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
"I'm sorry, Mrs. Colin... I... failed to protect you..."
His fists were clenched tightly under the white gauze, but they were powerless and stiff. He had to release his fists, as if a huge rock was bending his straight military uniform. He had to straighten his chest, but the gauze seeped out blood.
"Captain Kraft..." Mrs. Colin turned gracefully and slowly extended her hand toward the corridor: "Please allow me to see you off."
"Thank you..."
Kraft suddenly bowed as far as he could, which might be the most standard bow Kraft had ever made in his life.
He was trembling, not just in pain but crying as well. The light of the snowy night illuminated his back... bearing the blood and tears of a man in pain, standing straight, no longer bending.
