Chapter 70 Liu Dazhuang Arrested for Arson

“Su Xiaoxiao, I’m here today to take back Liu Xiaozhuang’s land. I’m giving you three days to move out of Baihua Village and vacate the house for me.”

Upon hearing this, Su Xiaoxiao knew it was about this matter again.

"What can you do to me if I don't move out?"

Su Xiaoxiao followed her example and stood in front of her with her hands on her hips.

Su Xiaoxiao was a head taller than Granny Liu, looking down at the unruly old woman.

"Heh, if you don't move out, I'll have someone kick you out of this house. Don't blame me for being ruthless then, you ungrateful slut who only knows how to seduce men."

That mouth of hers really stinks, and Su Xiaoxiao was thinking of going over to teach her a lesson.

Sanlang had already reached his limit; he certainly didn't hit women. However, he happened to be carrying a bucket of water that had just been used to clean the toilet, so without thinking twice, Sanlang poured the water directly onto Granny Liu.

Grandma Liu was covered in foul-smelling water. She was stunned and shouted, "What a terrible thing you two have done!"

Saburo looked at her coldly and said, "Let me tell you, this time it's lenient. If you bully my woman again next time, it won't be as simple as watering her."

The anger in Sanlang's eyes startled Granny Liu, causing her to involuntarily take a step back.

She reeked of a foul odor, which scared away the onlookers.

"You should go home and wash up; your voice smells even worse now."

Su Xiaoxiao stood in front of her, pinching her nose as she spoke.

"I'll show you how arrogant you are. Just wait until I report you to the authorities and have you all thrown in jail."

Just then, the sound of horses' hooves rang out in the distance, followed by a group of men dressed as officials rushing over.

Upon seeing this, Granny Liu immediately brought Zhang Cheng back.

She pointed to the group of people in the distance and said to Su Xiaoxiao, "See them? They're here as soon as they were told. It must be my Liu Dazhuang who went to the city to report to the authorities."

Sanlang glanced at Su Xiaoxiao, and Su Xiaoxiao also glanced at Sanlang. They didn't know who this group of people was, and for now, they could only wait and see.

However, Saburo did not show any panic on his face and calmly waited for the group of people to approach.

Finally, the group of officials arrived in front of everyone. The leading official was a fat man; his belly appeared before he did.

He came to the crowd, and Granny Liu wanted to go over and talk to him.

Unexpectedly, the official was so frightened that he took a step back and waved his hand, saying, "Is there a latrine nearby? Why does it smell so bad?"

"You, you stay where you are and don't come any closer."

Grandma Liu was so frightened that she stood there motionless. Just then, she saw Sanlang in front of her and was about to go over and greet him.

Saburo waved his hand at him, telling him not to come any closer.

"Sir, what brings you here?"

Su Xiaoxiao stepped forward and asked.

The pot-bellied official swayed slightly, then raised his head and puffed out his chest, making a coughing motion.

He struck a pose of official authority and asked, "We received a report that there's a man named Liu Dazhuang here."

Upon hearing this, Granny Liu quickly stepped forward and said, "Yes, he is my son. He's the one who reported the case to your government. This woman was my former daughter-in-law. She illegally occupied our land and seduced a wild man. You see, it's that pretty boy."

As Granny Liu spoke, she pointed at Sanlang. Upon hearing this, the heavily pregnant officer thought to himself, "How dare you point at our master like that? Do you have a death wish?"
"I really want to come up here and beat you up." The pot-bellied official also had a bad temper, but what could he say? His master wouldn't let them go over and expose his identity, so he could only continue to play along with his master and keep up the act.

He ignored Granny Liu and instead addressed the surrounding villagers: “My surname is Zhao, and I am a seventh-rank yamen runner with a knife in the county. Someone reported that Liu Dazhuang from your village committed arson and attempted murder, and that he has been harassing the young widow all day long. I am here to take him away so that our County Magistrate Qian can personally handle the case.”

After he finished speaking, he pointed at Granny Liu.

"Is Liu Dazhuang your son? Where is he?"

Upon hearing this, Grandma Liu realized something was amiss; shouldn't they be the ones who reported the incident?
How come they're the ones who got arrested now? What's the reason for that?

Su Xiaoxiao was also a little dazed. One person in the crowd took a step back, preparing to run away.

However, some of the other villagers were quite wicked; they simply shrugged to the sides, and suddenly, a person appeared in the middle.

Everyone looked and realized that this person was none other than Liu Dazhuang himself.

He was so frightened that his face turned pale, and he trembled so badly that he knelt down on the ground.

"My lord, spare my life! I truly do not know what crime I have committed. There must be some misunderstanding here."

Zhao, the constable, walked over and said, "You are Liu Dazhuang. Whether it's a misunderstanding or not, we don't care. Just come with us."

Two constables came up and arrested Liu Dazhuang without saying a word.

Liu Dazhuang suddenly started struggling like a madman, shouting, "Why are you arresting me? Oh, I know, it must have been that pretty boy who reported it!"

After he finished speaking, he pointed at Saburo and said fiercely.

"It must have been him who reported it."

When Zhao, the constable, saw this, he thought to himself, "How dare you point your finger at their master like that? You must have a death wish."

He pulled out a badge from his waist. "See this? This is our proof. Can you read? Look for yourself!"

The badge had Zhao Yayi's official name written on it. Liu Dazhuang had never seen such a badge before, and he was completely dumbfounded.

Grandma Liu was terrified when she saw her son being arrested.

She rushed over and grabbed her son, Liu Dazhuang, with all her might.

"Your Honor, there must be some misunderstanding here. You can't arrest him."

Zhao, the constable, glanced sideways at Granny Liu. "You raised such a law-breaking son; it seems you're no better than a good person yourself, perhaps even an accomplice in this case. Men, take her away!"

Upon hearing this, Granny Liu was so frightened that she quickly let go of her hand. What? They were going to take her away with them?
Grandma Liu was so frightened that she quickly backed away.

"Sir, this is unacceptable! I am indeed his mother, but he's such a grown man, I don't know what he's doing. You can't treat me like this!"

Unexpectedly, Grandma Liu managed to distance herself from the matter very well, immediately distancing herself from all ties.

Zhao, the constable, chuckled lightly, "You smell so bad, we're too lazy to bother going over and arrest you."

It turned out that Zhao, the constable, disliked the smell of Granny Liu, which was why he didn't go to arrest her.

The other officials came up and dragged Liu Dazhuang away. As Zhao, the constable, left, he winked at Sanlang, as if to say, "Master, we've done a good job. How about it? You should be satisfied, right?"

Sanlang ignored the guy, and Zhao, the constable, quickly led his men to arrest Liu Dazhuang. They rode off on horseback, kicking up a cloud of dust.
