Chapter 54 Dried Sweet Potatoes

"Maybe I accidentally tore open the wound while I was busy practicing martial arts a few days ago?"

Su Xiaoxiao was quite angry. "Your wound needs at least another month or so to heal. Why are you in such a hurry to practice martial arts? If you keep going like this, you'll lose your life."

She scolded him playfully, then took out some medicine and antidote pills and applied them to Sanlang's wound. She then bandaged Sanlang's wound with a cloth. Because it was on his chest, she had to go around his armpits to bandage it. Su Xiaoxiao bandaged him very carefully, afraid of touching Sanlang's wound again.

The two were standing quite close, and Su Xiaoxiao's eyes involuntarily drifted to Sanlang's abs. Those damn eight-pack abs caught Su Xiaoxiao's eye, and at that moment she unconsciously swallowed a mouthful of saliva, making a rather loud sound.

Sanlang seemed uncomfortable as well, and he asked Su Xiaoxiao in a low voice, "Should I put my clothes on?"

Su Xiaoxiao smacked him on the head. "Why did I bandage you up when you were wearing it? You idiot!"

"Xiaoxiao, your face is so red, you really have never been married?"

Saburo squinted at Su Xiaoxiao, whose face was as red as a boiled shrimp, and teased her.

Su Xiaoxiao had already bandaged him up, and he had put his clothes back on.

Su Xiaoxiao calmed down and adjusted her breathing before realizing that she seemed to have been tricked by Sanlang.

She retorted to Sanlang, "Heh, that person didn't seem too comfortable just now, did they? You seem to lack experience too?"

Sanlang quickly changed the subject, "Xiaoxiao, I want to eat dried sweet potato."

"Oh, I want some too! We still have some sweet potatoes at home, I'll dry them for you!"

Su Xiaoxiao thought to herself, "Am I spoiling this guy too much?"

However, there was really no way around it. It seemed that Sanlang had already got Su Xiaoxiao under his control. No matter what Su Xiaoxiao did, she had to consider Sanlang first, and she would always start from Sanlang's perspective.

When did she start caring so much about this guy?
After steaming the sweet potatoes, Su Xiaoxiao cut them into small strips, placed them on a bamboo mat, and put them out to dry in the sun.

The weather is very nice right now, and there are no flies or other small flying insects yet.

I never expected that this kid would have the same hobby as me—he likes to eat sweet potatoes.

Su Xiaoxiao believes that the best food in the world is, firstly, sweet and sour pork, and secondly, sweet potato.

Sweet potato chips, roasted sweet potatoes, and steamed sweet potatoes—if you happen to find a particularly mealy sweet potato, that's heaven!

Unfortunately, Su Xiaoxiao never ate sweet potatoes that were both starchy and sweet after she grew up. She only got to eat them again after she traveled back to ancient times.

After Su Xiaoxiao cooked the sweet potatoes, she couldn't resist eating one while cutting them into strips. It was really sweet and soft.

Su Xiaoxiao was very satisfied and gradually forgot the embarrassment of bandaging Sanlang's body earlier.

Su Xiaoxiao has this one great quality: as long as she has delicious food, she will forget all her worries and anxieties.

After the sweet potato chips were steamed quickly, Su Xiaoxiao turned around and realized that she hadn't asked Sanlang where he had been these past few days, or who had kidnapped him.

When she turned around and went back into the inner room, she found that Saburo was already asleep.

Sanlang, on the other hand, didn't seem to have any sense of boundaries. After spending two months away from home, he returned to Su Xiaoxiao's place without feeling shy or awkward; instead, he was very relaxed.

Su Xiaoxiao was also impressed, watching as Sanlang slept with the two children.

Saburo looks kind of cute when he's asleep; his long eyelashes flutter gently as he sleeps lazily and relaxed.

Sweet potatoes are actually a type of whole grain, but I didn't expect that Sanlang would like to eat them.

Su Xiaoxiao approached him, intending to pick up a blanket and cover him with it. Unexpectedly, Sanlang woke up, a faint smile in his eyes. "Xiaoxiao, are you going to cover me with a blanket? You really care about me!"

Su Xiaoxiao was speechless.

"Since you care about me so much, I've decided to stay here a few more days, how about that?"

His face was like the bright midday sun, warming people's hearts. How could Su Xiaoxiao refuse such a request?

"Are you still leaving? I thought you'd stay and become a live-in son-in-law?"

Su Xiaoxiao couldn't help but tease.

The phrase "son-in-law who lives with his wife's family" made Sanlang blush deeply, and he turned his face away in embarrassment, refusing to look at Su Xiaoxiao.

When Saburo woke up again, the sun was high in the sky, and his two darlings were sitting around him, looking at him with worried expressions.

"Father, you're awake? You've opened your eyes?"

When Da Bao saw San Lang open his eyes, he was very excited and happily jumped into San Lang's arms.

Xiao Bao was not to be outdone, and she immediately pounced on him.

Su Xiaoxiao happened to come in from the outer room and quickly called out to the two children, "Dabao, be good. Sanlang is injured, so be gentle."

Da Bao looked at San Lang with great concern and asked, "San Lang, are you injured again? Where does it hurt?"

Saburo picked up Da Bao and Xiao Bao without a care, holding one in each arm and saying, "It's alright, you're almost healed. Seeing you two makes me forget about my injury."

Su Xiaoxiao sighed helplessly and said to them, "Get up quickly, I made you some delicious noodles."

Saburo's eyes lit up at the mention of food.

For some reason, he had tasted all sorts of delicacies, but he just couldn't forget the simple meals Su Xiaoxiao made. Su Xiaoxiao seemed to have magical hands; even with ordinary ingredients, she could immediately create a taste that he missed dearly.

Saburo sat down at the table and began to eat noodles.

Neither child bothered to wash their faces, but Su Xiaoxiao, who was very clean, pulled both her eldest and youngest children to wash their faces together.

Before leaving, he told Sanlang, "Eat it while it's hot, the noodles will get cold soon."

Sanlang looked at Su Xiaoxiao and nodded hurriedly. When he ate noodles, he didn't slurp loudly like others.

Saburo was very elegant when eating noodles, sitting upright at the table. Etiquette was also very important when eating.

Su Xiaoxiao thought to herself, "He really does eat differently from us ordinary folks." Although Su Xiaoxiao still didn't know Sanlang's identity, she vaguely felt that Sanlang was not from an ordinary family, as he seemed to be very well-mannered.

After the two mischievous boys washed their faces, they came back from outside and were stunned to see Saburo sitting at the table eating noodles.

"Daddy looks good even when he eats."

Da Bao sincerely praised San Lang, "You should learn more from your father, no, from San Lang, and pay attention to your manners while eating, understand?"

Su Xiaoxiao felt that she was starting to call him "Daddy" like the children were using it. She vaguely sensed that Sanlang seemed to really enjoy it when his two darlings called him "Daddy" since he came back this time. He never did anything about it and never tried to correct them.

Now both children have gotten used to calling each other that, and Su Xiaoxiao thought to herself, oh well, let nature take its course.
