Chapter 262: All Rebels Deserve Death

It's always raining in Tokyo lately.

The autumn wind is very cool, and some special varieties of cherry blossoms will bloom specifically in autumn, such as "Autumn Sakura" or "Mountain Sakura". When the wind blows, the pink petals fall everywhere.

In the slanting wind and drizzle, the girl like an ice sculpture stood quietly in the deserted dark alley. Her light golden hair and snow-white skin presented a transparent texture. She raised her eyes, and Lu Mingfei's appearance was clearly reflected in her clear ice-blue eyes.

Lu Mingfei pointed at himself, looking confused: "Looking for me? You got the wrong person?"

He was very sure that he didn't know such a beautiful girl. After all, this girl was as beautiful as an elf transformed from snowflakes. If he had seen her, he would definitely have an impression of her.

But for some reason, when he looked at the girl's indifferent face, he did feel a sense of familiarity.

This is actually very contradictory. Even he can't explain why he would feel familiar with someone he has never seen before. This girl doesn't have an ordinary face.

Scratching his head, Lu Mingfei explained: "Are you here to play? You can't enter through the back door, you have to go through the front door. I'm the boss here... I can take you in, but you have to wait for me for a while."

After struggling for a while, he still couldn't say the word "cowherd". Lu Mingfei glanced at the boy and girl behind him, worried that they would say something wrong in front of his senior sister.

But he didn't dare to waste time now. Looking at the little girl in front of him, his tone became a little anxious: "Can you please make way? I'll take you there later."

The girl looked at him deeply for a long time before slowly making way for him.

Seeing this, Lu Mingfei immediately felt relieved and quickly took the boy and girl away. Eiry was completely unaware of the wrong atmosphere and looked back curiously.

Then she met the emotionless ice-blue eyes. The icy girl was looking at her. Eri blinked, but before she could react, a small hand pushed her from behind.

Eri looked down and found it was Constantine. Constantine shook his head at her and said softly, "Let's go."

Eri was a little confused, but she still turned around and left obediently, so that she didn't notice that those cold eyes were still staring at her.

When they were about to reach the end of the road, Constantine, who had been standing behind Eri, suddenly turned around. A hot golden flame ignited in his originally dark eyes, as if lava was burning, and his pale and thin face was as cold and hard as steel.

He opened his mouth and issued a silent warning: "Stay away from her."

Seeing this, the icy girl narrowed her eyes slightly.

But before she could react, the two figures had completely disappeared. Lu Mingfei stood there and watched them for a while. Only when he was sure that they had left safely did he look back with lowered eyebrows.

While he was thinking about when he could meet his senior sister again, he walked up to the strange girl and whispered, "Come on, I'll take you in."

He looked the girl up and down, and suddenly hesitated: "Are you an adult? If you are underage, it is better not to come to this kind of place to play."

The girl didn't respond at all. Lu Mingfei scratched his head and asked again tentatively: "Do you understand Chinese? Japanese? Or British? Hello?"

"That's not right. Didn't you just speak Chinese?" Lu Mingfei was completely confused. He always felt that this girl was weird, but he couldn't tell what was weird about her.

The atmosphere remained tense for a while. No one knew how long had passed. Just when Lu Mingfei was about to give up and wanted to call for help, the girl spoke softly.

"I'm not here to play." said the girl. Her voice was as cold as her appearance. She felt like a snow lotus blooming in the snow, or snowflakes falling from an iceberg.

"I told you, I'm here to see you." She looked at Lu Mingfei and spoke each word with emphasis: "I have something to ask of you."

Lu Mingfei was shocked, his face full of disbelief: "Ah? But do we know each other?"

"Girl, did you recognize the wrong person?"

"No." The girl said, "Only you can help me."

Lu Mingfei thought he might have been scammed, or maybe he was being blackmailed? But after thinking about it carefully, he didn't seem to have anything worth blackmailing. Could it be that this pretty girl actually had a problem with her brain?
But looking at the girl's icy blue eyes, Lu Mingfei couldn't say anything too harsh after all. He thought for a moment and asked tentatively: "What do you want me to help you with?"

"Let me make this clear first. I don't have any money. I can barely support myself. I won't lend you money. But I have a boss who is quite rich and likes to help others. I can introduce you to him."

The girl shook her head and lowered her voice: "My brother is missing, can you help me find him?"

Lu Mingfei was stunned: "Your brother is missing?"

"Yes, he is my only relative." At this point, the girl's cold voice became a little warmer, and her eyes showed complex emotions that Lu Mingfei could not understand: "Although there are still some conflicts between us, he is my younger brother after all."

Lu Mingfei was actually a little confused. He thought, why are you looking for the police when your brother is missing and why are you looking for me? Am I better than the police?

But I couldn't bear to hear the girl's lonely voice. The voice that gradually became softer revealed a sense of loneliness, as if the little girl had lost her most beloved toy.

"Okay, okay." He said, "Tell me the situation. If it doesn't work, I'll call the police for you."

The girl nodded as if she didn't hear the last sentence, and said to herself: "He and I are both orphans. We have depended on each other since we were young."

"Later, we were taken in by an orphanage. There was only an old director and eight children including us in the orphanage. For the old director, taking us in was as simple as an old man opening the door of his house in the cold winter and letting a few stray dogs in to keep warm."

"The old dean would assign us various tasks. In spring, we would weed and prune pine trees. In summer, we would dig canals and dry his books. From autumn on, the mountains would become very cold. We would go into the mountains to collect branches and burn them into charcoal to keep warm in winter."

"He probably doesn't have any relatives, because he only receives one mail a year, which is a New Year's card from the mayor. He is considered a very wealthy man in that town, and when the town is short of money, the mayor will go into the mountains to ask him for donations."

"He has a bad temper. If we don't do something well, he will jump up and down and yell at us, saying that since he took us in, we should work hard. If we don't do well, he will ask us to get out of his house, but he never really drives us out. After he finishes yelling and goes to sleep, he seems to forget everything."

Xue paused for a moment here, her eyes became distant, as if she saw the small house in the mountains, and the children returning home on the snowy winter day, carrying bundles of dead branches.

It is beautiful and peaceful, except for the occasional Santa Claus who comes to deliver presents.

"The mayor came and advised the dean not to take us in. He said we were a group of stray dogs. The dean said he was old and dying, and only stray dogs would keep a dying old man company. We went to smash the windows of the mayor's house as revenge."

"And then?" Lu Mingfei couldn't help but ask. He was not curious about the story of this strange girl at first, but as he listened, he couldn't help but have pictures in his mind.

A lonely old man adopted some equally lonely children. They depended on each other and kept each other company. It must have been a very heartwarming scene.

"The mayor was right." The girl's voice lowered, making it difficult to hear her emotions: "My brother told us that the dean had a lot of gold bars. We wanted to go to college and venture out, but we had no money." "So we stole the dean's money. The dean found out and we beat him up. He was too old and we were all young. He was beaten until he was covered in blood and could never stand up again."

The girl's voice was so soft and calm, as if she was telling a warm bedtime story, but Lu Mingfei could not help but shiver. He did not expect that this warm and quiet story would have such a horrible ending.

"I also took a lot of money. I wanted to take my brother with me, but he didn't want to. He insisted on following that old man, even though the old man was dying and would never forgive him for informing on him."

"My brother and I had a falling out," the girl said. "I never saw him again until a while ago, when I suddenly heard his cry for help."

"I could tell he was in pain, he was being bullied, he was badly injured, he was dying."

"I came to look for him, but I couldn't find him." The girl raised her eyes, her beautiful but empty clear eyes looked at Lu Mingfei, with some sorrow in them: "I can't find him, I can't find him anywhere."

"I know I did something wrong, and I shouldn't have come to you, but my brother did nothing wrong, and he shouldn't have ended up like this. I want to save him, can you help me?"

Lu Mingfei stared at the girl blankly, and tears suddenly flowed from her beautiful blue eyes. She was no longer a cold sculpture, but seemed to have come alive.

She didn't make any sound, but everyone was moved by the silent sadness. That sadness was like... the lonely person finally lost the last relative in the world, and she would be alone from then on.

The girl stood alone in the wind and rain, soaked all over, like an abandoned beagle.

Lu Mingfei also felt a little uncomfortable. He thought about the old man who was beaten to death and felt that he should be angry. However, when he saw the sad look of the girl, he was infected by her sadness.

He seemed to hear the howling of wind and snow outside the orphanage, the sound of children laughing and playing, the crackling of the flames in the fireplace, and finally, the painful wails of the old man, which made him want to sigh softly.

Sure enough, someone sighed softly.

"Brother, have you heard of crocodile tears?" Someone sighed softly beside Lu Mingfei.

Lu Mingfei was so frightened that his heart almost stopped beating. He turned his head and was surprised again.

It's not the kind of joy that makes one's eyebrows smile, but the kind of joy that makes one want to rush over to him, beat his chest and cry loudly, saying, "You dead ghost, where have you been? Why did you come just now?"

Lu Mingze, the little devil who claimed that he could help him solve everything, was his ultimate ally hidden in the curtain behind him. It seemed that as long as he was there, no one in the world could threaten Lu Mingfei, not even the Dragon King.

Although judging from his current performance, this claim seemed a bit exaggerated, but this did not prevent Lu Mingfei from being surprised to see him.

"You're finally back from your business trip? Damn, why didn't you reply to my previous message to you!" Lu Mingfei yelled subconsciously, and he himself didn't even notice the relief in his tone.

He saw Lu Mingze, covered in bruises, at the deepest part of the sea. He has been feeling uneasy ever since, because before the little devil completely lost contact, he had sent him a message saying that he was going free diving and might not come back.

Coupled with that bloody scene, it was hard for Lu Mingfei not to have wild thoughts. Although this devil essentially wanted to kill him, there was probably no one else in this world who could always stand by his side, as if they were dependent on each other.

"Yes, the vacation for small salesmen like us is very short." The devil grinned, but he didn't know if it was Lu Mingfei's illusion, he always felt that the boy's face seemed a little too pale.

"But didn't you say that Japan is not under your jurisdiction?"

"So I came here illegally just like you." The devil shrugged. He was wearing a neat black suit, a white shirt and a black tie. His hair was oiled and combed neatly. In his arms was a bouquet of pure white roses. His expression was solemn.

"Why do you bring flowers when you're here? For me? That's too polite." Lu Mingfei said.

"White roses are used for funerals." Lu Mingze smiled and looked up. He plucked the rose bud in his hand and pinned it on the head of the icy girl.

Only then did Lu Mingfei realize that the whole world had suddenly turned grey, like a photograph frozen in an instant. Only Lu Mingfei and Lu Mingze were still in colour, and only the coloured characters could still move.

"Brother, what do you think of the story she told?" Lu Mingze asked.

Lu Mingfei was stunned for a moment and said, "It feels a bit bloody. It makes me feel uncomfortable."

"That's right, they're uncomfortable. They're just a bunch of useless bastards." Lu Mingze picked roses one after another and carefully pinned them on the girl's hair, which was so light in color that it was almost pure white, like a painter painting his beloved work with all his heart.

The white hair and white flowers blend together, bringing a faint fragrance.

"Alas, people are like this." Lu Mingfei didn't know what to say, "Maybe she just took the wrong road for a moment. Doesn't she know it's wrong?"

"It's just a little strange. Why did he come to see me?" Lu Mingfei looked puzzled: "I don't even know her."

"She's not here to see you, she's here to see me." Lu Mingze said, and he smiled at Lu Mingfei. His smile was clear and spotless, like the warm sunshine.

Lu Mingfei was stunned. He suddenly realized a problem. After the girl told this inexplicable story, she also said, "I know I shouldn't have come to you," as if she was ashamed to face someone she felt guilty about.

But Lu Mingze said that the girl came to see him, and the person the girl felt guilty about was the old dean, so...

Lu Mingze is the old dean?
Lu Mingfei widened his eyes and stared blankly as Lu Mingze picked all the roses and decorated the girl with them. Finally, he threw away the bare flower stalks and raised a finger towards Lu Mingfei.

He put the finger to his lips, his eyes flashing with a faint golden color, and asked softly: "Brother, all traitors should die, right?"

Before Lu Mingfei could say anything, the little devil had disappeared without a trace, and the world around him suddenly returned to color, as if he had appeared only to deliver flowers, the flowers that would be used at a funeral.

Now that the flowers were delivered, he left without any intention of seeing the girl, and he was even too lazy to listen to her pleas.

The world returned to normal, and the girl still looked at Lu Mingfei persistently, with a hint of hope in her eyes.

She seemed completely unaware of the white roses in her hair and just asked, "Will you help me?"

"I beg you."

Lu Mingfei just shook his head. In a very soft voice, he rejected the devil who didn't want to meet him:
"Feel sorry."

"I can not help you."
