Chapter 41 The Fall of Genius

Uchiha Gin, who was pulled into the shadow by the old jailer, felt suffocated. The surroundings were as dark as ink, and his facial senses had no perception of the outside world. A feeling of powerlessness followed.

Trying to open the Sharingan, Uchiha Gin, with bloodshot eyes, was surprised to find that he could actually offset the invasion of the darkness around him by relying on his eye power.

As his pupil power increased and his senses were liberated, he saw the old jailer standing opposite him.

"What's your purpose?"

Although he received help from the other party, Uchiha Gin did not dare to be careless as he was not sure whether the other party was an enemy or a friend.

"Hey, I've been waiting for you."

The old jailer's pale eyes revealed a long-suppressed expectation.

"When you enter Dungeon 0 and find the person waiting for you, you will know everything."

The old jailer spoke incoherently. Before Uchiha Gin could ask again, he felt his body lighten, and in the blink of an eye he was back in Uchiha Ryukage's office.

At this time, Uchiha Ryukage had already left, and Uchiha Gin looked down at his own calm reflection.

Without much hesitation, he reached out to touch the vase on Uchiha Liuying's desk. As the vase was rotated, the bookshelf behind the desk flipped over, and a dark and deep secret passage appeared in front of Uchiha Gin.

It seems that this is the entrance to Dungeon No. 0. Uchiha Gin is now in a dilemma. All known clues point to this dungeon. Whether the mystery of the original owner's memory can be solved can only be found in the dungeon.

Entering the secret door, there was a switch on the wall. Uchiha Gin tried to flip it, and the secret door of the dungeon flipped back. It seemed that this was the switch of the secret door.

Taking a deep breath, Uchiha Gin didn't dare to close his Sharingan. He stared with his scarlet eyes and scanned the surroundings vigilantly, guarding against any sudden danger.

The layout of Dungeon 0 is similar to that of several other dungeons, and the dilapidated cells on both sides of the corridor have long been abandoned.

A pungent musty smell made Uchiha Gin frown, but since it was being guarded by Uchiha Ryukage himself, there must be some unknown secret hidden in it.

As Uchiha Gin went deeper, he saw mottled skeletons appearing in the cells on both sides. From the irregular bends in the skeletons' hands and feet, it could be seen that the prisoners here had all been subjected to extremely cruel torture.

Uchiha Gin didn't find anything except corpses along the way until he came to the last cell closed by an iron door.

Looking at the seal formed by the complex spell on the door, Uchiha Gin knew that he had found it.

Knowing nothing about sealing techniques, he looked at the door in front of him worriedly. If he tried to break it open with force, it would definitely be discovered by those who came later.

But he didn't have the skills to pick the lock. Just when he was at a loss, the familiar voice of the old jailer came from the shadow behind him.

"Hey, hey, I can take you in."

"Then I'll trouble you, senior."

Turning around and looking at the old jailer who was smiling at him eerily, Uchiha Gin did not refuse.

Since the other party has been leading me to this place, he must want me to meet the people imprisoned in the dungeon.

Besides, he was not an important figure in the clan, so there was no need for the old jailer to go to so much trouble for a useless Uchiha like him with a very bad reputation.

Hearing Uchiha Gin's answer without any hesitation, the old jailer seemed to have expected it. He then stretched out his withered hands like chicken claws and pulled Uchiha Gin into the shadow again.

The reflection without the real body did not dissipate, but slowly seeped into the gap between the iron gates like a pool of ink, and soon it was completely squeezed in.

Uchiha Gin, who had experienced it in a movie once, did not feel too uncomfortable this time. He just closed his eyes and opened them again, and then he passed through the iron gate into the cell.

The environment inside the cell was not as bad as Uchiha Gin had imagined. The walls were clean and new, there was a bookshelf, and simple furniture. It looked more like a study than a prison.

There was a desk next to the bookshelf, where a figure with his back to the Uchiha was writing quickly. When he heard the movement of someone, he put down the pen in his hand and slowly stood up.

"You finally came."

The owner of the voice turned around, his gray curly hair and wrinkled face were filled with excitement.

One of his eyes was as gray as an old jailer's, and his hunched body trembled slightly with excitement when he saw Uchiha Gin.

"you are?"

The old man in front of him looked exactly like the old man in the photo he found at home. Looking at the old man's familiar curly hair and similar appearance, Uchiha Gin vaguely guessed the other's identity.

"Really? You don't remember?"

When the old man saw Uchiha Gin's unfamiliar look, he restrained his emotions and looked as he expected.

"My name is Uchiha Yao."

The old man uttered an unfamiliar name, "I have a son named Uchiha Jin." Uchiha Jin was the father who died early in the original owner's memory. He recalled the gentle man in his memory, and the identity of the old man opposite him was about to be revealed.

"Are you my grandfather?"

Uchiha Gin asked carefully.

"That's right, my great grandson."

Uchiha Yao nodded with satisfaction.

"Then why don't I have any impression of you?"

The old man's identity was exactly the same as what he had guessed, and Uchiha Gin couldn't help but ask without any doubt.

"It's a long story, but you have to remember..." Uchiha Yao sighed and shook his head, then said something shocking,

"The culprit behind all this is your uncle, Uchiha Tajima."

"???"

Uchiha Gin had a headache because of his cousin Uchiha Tajima, who was very caring towards him in the original owner's memory.

It was difficult for him to accept that his own grandfather actually pointed out that he was the murderer who caused his memory loss.

Seeing Uchiha Yin's incredulous expression, Uchiha Yao told the whole story.

"More than a decade ago, I was the head of the clan's research department, dedicated to developing the power of the clan's Sharingan."

"Just like that Uchiha Miao?"

Uchiha Gin couldn't help but interrupt. It turned out that his grandfather was the head of the research department. If he were alive today, he would be considered the child of a high-ranking official.

"Humph! Uchiha Miao, that coward."

Uchiha Yao seemed to sneer at the current head of the research department.

"And the Uchiha Yan who imprisoned me, they are all my cousins."

He didn't expect that the two most powerful elders in the Uchiha clan were both his relatives. However, from Uchiha Yao's expression, it could be seen that he had considerable conflicts with the two.

"Let's not talk about these two traitors for now."

Uchiha Yao was unwilling to waste words on these two people.

"It all started on the day my son died in battle."

When Uchiha Yao mentioned his son, his tone sounded very sad.

Dying in battle for the family can be said to be a supreme honor, but for Uchiha Yao, it is a case of the old sending off the young, making this old man, who is nearly 70 years old, even more hunched.

Regarding Uchiha Jin's sacrifice, there was only a faint trace in Uchiha Gin's mind, as if most of it had been erased.

No matter how hard he tried to recall the details, he couldn't remember them, and the more he thought about it, the more his head hurt, as if it was being pricked by needles.

"My son, Uchiha Jin, was once the clan's number one genius and the strongest contender for the position of clan leader."

When Uchiha Yao talked about his son, he couldn't suppress his pride in his tone.

His father was actually the number one genius? Uchiha Gin's brain almost crashed.

The original owner had very few memories of his father. He only remembered that his father was very gentle, obedient to his wife at home, and caring for him. He was a top model husband, but he did not have much impression of his strength.

"Your father opened his eyes at the age of eight, and had three magatama at the age of twelve, crushing many ninjas of the same period. He was a true genius. But..."

Uchiha Yao continued,

"He shouldn't have died! I thought he died on the battlefield, for the honor of his family."

"Is not it?"

Uchiha Gin asked with a frown.
