Chapter 593 Angel
What Koz didn't expect was that John Granmatikas, who was carrying the lightning spear, was persuaded by Eldarad Othuran, the Eldar prophet, not to hand the spear over to Koz!
That's not the key point. Even if Koz lost the lightning-struck stone spear and couldn't kill Vulcan, Vulcan had already been driven mad by him.
But once the Eldar prophet spoke, it wasn't just a matter of sparing Vulcan's life.
This Eldar prophet actually managed to persuade the cult assassin and immortal John Granmatikas to another level!
Because Granmaticas had long since grown tired of living the life of an immortal.
In other worlds, immortality might be a blessing.
Those who are immortal may also hide beneath the earth, enjoying their endless lives.
But in the Warhammer world.
Good heavens, God knows how much suffering an immortal must endure from the warp.
When Granmaticas woke up every day to a scene of utter despair, he truly, truly didn't want to live anymore!
That was the point the Eldar prophet was trying to persuade him about.
Don't you, Granmatikas, want to die?
Simple!
The ceremony, which originally involved Koz killing Vulcan with a lightning-struck stone spear, can be slightly altered.
Don't you want to die?
If you kill Vulcan once with a lightning-struck stone spear, and through this ritual, you transfer your own immortality to Vulcan.
Then you can just die later, right?
And so, Granmatikas, who truly didn't want to live anymore, quickly grabbed his lightning-struck stone spear and looked for an opportunity. At the crucial moment when Koz was fighting Vulcan, he found an opportunity to kill Vulcan!
Because he was not killed by the Primarch, Vulcan did not die.
The immortality that Granmatikas passed on to him also cured him of the madness that Koz had driven him to madness!
The only price was that, in order to treat Bao Haozhong's warp madness, Vulcan was assassinated by Gramaticas and did not wake up immediately. Instead, he became half-dead, as if he had really died.
Only the immortals know the secret of immortality, and very few know that Vulcan did not die.
The three leaders of the Second Empire who later reunited in Macurag—Lion King Johnsen, Angel Saint Gilles, and Grandpa Guilliman—were naturally unaware of this secret.
Thus, the three leaders still believed that Vulcan was really dead, so they put him into a stasis pod called Unruly Flame and gave it to a few soldiers of the Salamander Legion, asking them to take Vulcan back to their home planet.
The Black Children of the Fire Dragons were deeply saddened by the Primarch's death, and then elected Nouméon, the First Company Commander and Captain of the Honor Guard, as the new Lord of the Eighteenth Legion.
But Noumyon refused, because he firmly believed that his genetic father would eventually return.
And so, Nouméon returned to his homeworld with Vulcan's body and the rest of the Legion's soldiers.
After defeating a series of guys who tried to steal Vulcan's body, such as the Death Guard.
Nouméon, with the offspring of the fire-breathing dragon, held a ceremony for Vulcan.
As long as the fire dragon remains, the salamanders firmly believe that their father will return from the ritual.
Strangely, even after the ceremony was over, Vulcan did not wake up.
Just as the salamanders on the scene were beginning to panic, Company Commander Numeang made a... bold and desperate decision.
He quietly left the crowd and climbed up to the vicinity of the crater where the ceremony was being held.
Nouméang's figure leaped down.
Vulcan awoke peacefully.
But upon waking, he could no longer look at the ravaged empire and his descendants who had died for him.
His kindness made him determined to live up to the sacrifices made for his offspring.
His concern for the Empire made him eager to travel to Terra.
Just then, the Eldar prophet...
That's right, it's this Eldar prophet!
He was the one who used his words to persuade the immortals to death.
He is also the one who helped Vulcan revive and restore his memories.
Even before Vulcan was about to head to Terra, he reappeared, offering to guide Vulcan in finding several artifacts he had crafted.
It's unclear what benefits the Emperor gave the Eldar prophet that made him so willing to work so hard.
In short, guided by the Eldar prophet, Vulcan found his Thunder Hammer, Burning Hand, and Seven Hammers Amulet, and set off for Terra with the artifacts.
On the way, Vulcan, instead of focusing on his duties, killed a mechanical Ferrus Manus and a filthy, unclean one.
When Vulcan arrived in Terra, the Emperor immediately received him.
The Emperor told Vulcan that he had been watching him closely, including the fact that Vulcan's creation of the Burning Hand and the Seven Hammers Amulet was the result of the Emperor's guidance.
The Seven Hammers Amulet also possesses unique sacred properties.
Subsequently, the Emperor gave Vulcan an order: he wanted Vulcan to use the Seven Hammers Amulet to guard the Net Path.
After the Emperor himself led Sangilius, Rogdorn, and Valdor to the Vengeful Spirit to fight Horus.
If he cannot return, then Vulcan must use the Seven Hammers Amulet to detonate the entire Webpath, destroying Terra while also sweeping away all the invading Chaos forces!
From that moment on, the Seven Hammer Amulet also had an interesting nickname.
Flip the table, amulet!
This also illustrates the magnitude of the predicaments that emperors faced in the past.
He truly had a contingency plan in place to die at the hands of Horus!
In short, Vulcan obeyed orders and placed the Seven Hammers Amulet on the Golden Throne, and guarded the Gate of Eternity during the Siege of Terra.
When Horus actually attacked, the siege of Terra officially began.
Horus fought a great battle with Magnus, who had arrived at the Gate of Eternity.
The immortals are strong because they don't follow reason. Even though the psionic pony burned Vulcan into a pile of black bones, Vulcan still picked up his hammer, activated his teleportation power, and banished Magnus.
Next came the well-known defeat of Horus.
After the great rebellion ended, only a few hundred years later, Vulcan, like Lemanrus, disappeared.
However, he did not disappear completely, after all, unlike the Wolf King, who left to find the Golden Tree that could cure the Emperor.
As is well known, in the 30k era, all Primarchs disappeared from the Empire for various reasons.
Guilliman was the first Primarch to return.
But that's not actually the case, because Vulcan was the first Primarch to return!
Guilliman was already at 40k when he woke up.
Vulcan disappeared only 1,500 years later, around 32k.
Vulcan then returned from his disappearance.
During the War of the Beasts, Vulcan reappeared on Cordra and blocked the group of waaagh's green behemoths.
Subsequently, Vulcan led the Imperial Legion on an expedition to Ulanno.
He fought his way into the Ork capital and carried out a decapitation operation against the Ork overlord "Beast," a special waaagh over ten meters tall.
During this battle, he and the beast fell into an energy generator filled with green waaagh energy and merged with it.
Subsequently, the green-skinned energy generator exploded, and Vulcan truly disappeared without a trace.
Even now, even though Downton brought Vulcan back, the greenskin energy surrounding him hasn't dissipated.
It can only be said that Downton was too eager, allowing this black guy to absorb less of the troublesome energy.
However, Downton thought about it and realized that getting along with Brother Mao might not be a good thing, and he could be considered as having rescued Vulcan.
Vulcan didn't say much about his return. He was kind and, more so than the other Primarchs, more accepting of his return and the changes in the Empire. He quickly returned to his seat, silently awaiting the return of his next brother.
only……
While Vulcan waited, the other Primarchs looked at Downton with a mixture of hope, sadness, and despair.
because……
The Primarchs fear that Downton's manhunt is over.
It's already pretty impressive that Downton managed to find all seven of them.
After all, all seven of them are still alive!
But the remaining two loyalist Primarchies...
They are dead!
Saint Gilles clearly died at the hands of Horus.
Feralus Manus also clearly died at the hands of Forgrim.
These two were completely dead, so even if the Primarchs harbored hopes, they dared not ask for too much.
Facing the Primarchs' anxious gazes, Downton grinned, then looked at Death not far away and said.
"Sister Death, I won't be able to help much with the rest of the work."
The next two are dead; you'll have to pull them back.
"Hmm, bringing the dead back is not a proper thing to do."
However, I can do it, and I'm willing to do it for delirium.
This world is a world where delirium has inhabited countless minds. I want to see what delirium really wants!
As soon as he finished speaking, Death raised his hand and waved it twice, and a halo of light shone through the void, illuminating the boundary between the warp and the physical world.
Accompanied by the screams of the four evil gods and the emperor's faint groan, the ball of light and shadow was quickly rebuilt and then grew wings!
The moment they saw those wings, all seven Primarchs present stood up uncontrollably!
That was an angel! It was Saint Gilles, their best and most perfect brother!!!
Primarchs are not all harmonious; in fact, even among Primarchs who are loyalists, there are many kinds of conflicts among them.
But Saint Gilles.
He has no conflicts with anyone!
From birth, he was breathtakingly perfect; his appearance rivaled that of the handsome Forgrim, and his demeanor was almost on par with that of an emperor.
Since Sangilius' return, every Astartes in every Legion that has not yet found its Primarch can't help but hope that its Primarch, which has not yet returned, can be as perfect as Sangilius!
In addition to his stunning looks and charisma, Saint Gilles also possesses unparalleled martial prowess!
Before the great rebellion, even Horus was probably no match for Sanguis.
Or rather, it's not just a fear, it's a fact. After all, apart from Saint Gilles, no other Primarch could withstand the attack of two Chaos Archdemons, let alone chop them into mincemeat while fighting two of them.
This is the perfect Saint Gillespie!
A perfect personality, perfect power, and perfect... magnificent wings!
However, Saint Gilles' wings were not actually given to him by the emperor.
When the emperor first found Saint Gilles, he was also startled by his wings.
The emperor at that time even worried that Saint Gilles might be invaded by Chaos.
But after a thorough examination, he finally determined that Saint Gillespie had no problems whatsoever.
And so, the Empire found their most perfect angel!
In many people's eyes, angels are more like emperors than emperors!
His outstanding appearance and personality allowed the angel to make countless friends. Everyone who met Saint Gilles and spoke with him was captivated by his charm.
His strength made him invincible on the battlefield, while his superhuman intellect made him a master of tactics, making him and his army invincible.
He thus amassed countless military exploits on the battlefield, and in no time, the name of the angel spread throughout the entire human empire.
And such a perfect man naturally became a thorn in the side of the four Chaos Gods and Horus!
When Horus rebelled, in order to get rid of this troublesome angel, the four Chaos Gods sent two great demons to attack Sangilius and his legions.
After defeating the two great demons, Saint Gilles, filled with rage at Horus's betrayal, vowed to take revenge on Horus.
So he led his legion to Makula, to prepare with his two brothers to deal with Horus.
But just after he arrived in Macurag...
To his surprise, after some deliberation, King Johnson and Guilliman concluded that the Emperor was probably dead.
Meanwhile, Johnson and Guilliers established the Second Empire and installed Saint Gilles as its emperor!
And so, Saint Gilles, completely bewildered, donned the yellow robe and sat on the throne of the Second Empire.
But no sooner had he sat on the throne than Vulcan fell to Makula.
Subsequently, Koz attacked, Vulcan was assassinated by the immortals, and Koz was captured by Guilliman, the regent of the Second Reich, and General Johnsen.
It was through the interrogation of Koz that King Johnson learned that the Emperor was still alive, and so... the Second Empire came to an abrupt end, and Saint Gilles's reign ended after only a few years.
After discussing it, the three brothers decided to rush back to Terra to serve the king.
What follows is nothing new.
While the Lion King and Guilliman held off Horus's fleet, Saint Gilles himself arrived in Terra to join the Emperor in confronting Horus.
In this battle, Sangilius once again demonstrated his combat prowess, surpassing that of all Primarchs.
Ah, single-handedly banished the great demon Kabanha of Khorne once again, and then gave the now-magic Angron a good beating.
That was all secondary; what he did next was actually take down a Warlord-class Titan!
Thus, Saint Gilles defeated the rebel offensive and forced them to abandon their attack.
The victory in this battle ultimately came down to the duel between the Emperor and Horus.
It is important to know that both the Emperor and Saint Gilles had the ability to prophesy; they could see the future.
Coz, a member of the rebels, also possessed this ability.
In short, before boarding the ship, the Emperor persuaded Saint Gilles to stay.
He didn't want the angels to board that ship.
Because the fate of angels is to die on that ship, to die at the hands of Horus.
But faced with a future destined for death, the angel simply shook his head.
"The way to overcome fate is never to run away, because when I charge into my bleak fate, I have already won!"
And so, having defeated the Archdemon Khorne, the Ascended Angron, and the Titan of the Warlord rank, Saint Gilles resolutely dragged his weary body and followed the Emperor onto that ship.
When each of them was separated on the Vengeful Spirit, Sanguiles was the first to encounter Horus, rejecting Gross's invitation to betray him and engaging him in a final battle.
In this duel, Saint Gillis paid with his own life, leaving a crack in Horus's armor.
After he was smashed into mincemeat by Horus.
The emperor also used the crack he left behind to successfully defeat Horus.
and so.
During the Siege of Terra, the Empire lost only one emperor.
Guilliman lost two emperors. (End of Chapter)
