Chapter 137 No Crossing
Cheng Mai didn't argue with him about it, but went straight inside.

Cheng Ming is someone who knows how to enjoy life. His new villa is decorated in a low-key yet luxurious style, with a touch of otherworldly elegance.

Cheng Mai went in without saying hello, which meant he was implicitly allowed to enter tomorrow.

Cheng Ming was feeding the fish in the backyard, looking quite carefree.

The fish in the pond weren't expensive goldfish; they looked more like carp that had been caught randomly.

"Following a barbarian, I've become more and more barbaric myself."

"Does being a cultured person really make you feel like you're becoming more and more divine?" Cheng Mai retorted without any politeness. "What about Lord Xuanji?"

Cheng Ming fed the last bit of fish food to the carp, then turned to look at Cheng Mai and Shang Xingjian.

“Who told you he’s with me? If he really is with me, it’s not a good thing for you.” Cheng Ming washed his hands and sat down, deliberately looking at Shang Xingjian. “At least it’s not a good thing for you.”

Cheng Mai glanced at Shang Xingjian, then looked at Cheng Ming again, "Shang Xingjian said the person is here with you."

"You believe him just because he says so?" Cheng Ming poured her some water.

"Or should I believe you?" Cheng Mai retorted without mincing words.

This remark amused Cheng Ming, and it also brought a smile to Shang Xingjian's face, clearly indicating that he was in a good mood.

Cheng Ming glanced at Shang Xingjian, who was grinning from ear to ear, and didn't even bother to roll his eyes at him.

"The person you're looking for did come here, but he's left now." Cheng Ming wasn't lying. Xuanji had indeed come, but only to freeload a meal. He seemed to have known someone was coming this morning, so he left. "I told you, that kid is really hard to catch." Shang Xingjian looked at him with an expression that said, "You don't believe me?" But when Cheng Mai glared at him, he promptly shut up.

"Since we can't catch him, then give me some useful people. I don't think you're short of such people here." Cheng Mai had set his sights on this, and he didn't intend to go back empty-handed.

Cheng Ming was stunned for a moment, seemingly not understanding what he meant. After he realized what he meant, he burst out laughing, "Even if I really gave you the people, would you dare to use them?"

"If you dare to give it to me, I dare to use it."

Cheng Ming paused for a long time, seemingly with a sense of helplessness, "You seem to have never understood that we are not on the same side. The fact that we can have a good chat right now is only because it's not the last day yet."

"If it weren't for the Heavenly Dao, I really can't think of anyone else who could make a former God-King risk his life for someone who is cowering and afraid to come out. But if it is the Heavenly Dao, Shang Xingjian would probably have been taken over by the Heavenly Dao long ago, with no one left to fight. So who exactly is this person behind the scenes? I should be able to guess a little bit."

When Cheng Mai said this, Shang Xingjian and Cheng Ming both lowered their eyes and examined the cups in their hands.

“Two divine lords, since you have different stances, it’s best not to go fishing together anymore, or it will look awkward.” Cheng Mai finished speaking and stood up, placing his hands on the table as he looked at the two of them. “As for Qing Fan, if you’re only trying to save the world but not a single person, it’s better not to save anyone at all.”

Cheng Ming smiled and did not refute the statement.

Shang Xingjian put down his cup and stood up. "Since they're gone, we'll be going now."

"Xuanhe, the net of Heaven is vast and inescapable."

Shang Xingjian paused, but ultimately grabbed Cheng Mai's wrist and left with her.

As the two left the Cheng family home, Cheng Mai shook off Shang Xingjian's hand. "What did he mean by what he just said?"
