Marvel's Magic Master

Chapter 6 Gringotts Deposit

Chapter 6 Gringotts Deposit

"The last step is to take you to Gringotts."

Without staying in the store for long, Tonks continued to take George to Gringotts.

Gringotts is the only wizarding bank in the British wizarding world. It is run by goblins and is located on the north side of Diagon Alley.

As well as storing money and safeguarding the valuables of witches and wizards, it can also be used to exchange Muggle currency for magical currency.

George has now officially inherited the old wizard's estate through the Ministry of Magic, so naturally he has to go to Gringotts to make all the money the old wizard has saved his own.

"How ugly!"

Arriving at the door of Gringotts, George muttered to himself as he looked at the goblin guards in scarlet and gold-rimmed uniforms.

The fairies and elves in this world are not the beautiful creatures as imagined. Instead, they are very ugly, roughly the same appearance as goblins.

Following Tonks up the white steps into the bronze gate of Gringotts, a second silver door appeared before his eyes, with very eye-catching words engraved on it.

The general meaning is, don't have any bad ideas about Gringotts' wealth, otherwise you will die miserably.

Two goblin waiters were standing by the silver door. When they saw Tonks and George, they bowed to them and then led them into a tall marble hall.

There are about a hundred goblins busy here, handling various business for the wizards who come in.

Tonks took George to an idle goblin and handed over the various certificates she had just obtained from the Ministry of Magic.

"Legacy Changes to the Underground Vault."

The goblins at Gringotts were not like the staff at the Ministry of Magic. They were extremely efficient and quickly checked all the certificates. After confirming that they were correct, they said to George:

"This is the key to the underground vault No. 352. Please keep it. Do you need to go to the vault to withdraw money now?"

"No need. Just tell me how many gold galleons are left in the vault."

George took the key and put it in his pocket.

There are still 500 gold Galleons left by the old wizard in the store after his death, which is enough for his current needs.

"There are now a total of 352 gold galleons remaining in the underground vault No. ."

The goblin glanced through the accounts and replied.

"It seems that the potion business is really profitable. I only earn 100 Galleons a month now, and after becoming a regular employee, I will only earn 140 Galleons."

Tonks next to her couldn't help but reveal an envious look.

Based on her salary, it would probably take her ten years to earn that many gold galleons, and that's without any expenses. Otherwise, she might not be able to save that much even in twenty or thirty years.

George, who had been frowning, calmed down instantly after hearing Tonks' words.

He originally thought that the old wizard had at least 100,000 gold Galleons in savings, so he was a little disappointed when he heard that there were only more than 10,000 gold Galleons.

But if you think about it practically, it's normal.

The old wizard opened a potion shop and did black market business, so he must have made money, probably more than a regular potion shop.

But it definitely cost a lot to buy this potion shop, and researching potions, especially high-level potions, costs money like water, so the consumption must be very high.

Now that there are more than 10,000 gold galleons left, it makes sense.

Comparing it with Tonks' salary, more than 10,000 gold Galleons is already a lot, enough to squander for a long time.

There are three types of wizard currency: Gold Galleons, Silver Sickles, and Copper Knuts.

One gold Galleon is equal to seventeen silver Sickles, and one silver Sickle is equal to twenty-nine bronze Knuts.

According to Dora's memory, a copy of the Daily Prophet cost only five copper Knuts, a normal meal cost about two or three silver Sickles, and the price of a wizard's wand usually did not exceed ten gold Galleons.

"George, Hogwarts should send you a new admission letter tomorrow morning. Study magic well at Hogwarts. You will definitely make a lot of friends there. I'm leaving now. I'll come to see you when I have time!"

At the door of Gringotts, Tonks smiled and rubbed George's head again.

George's heart moved when he heard this, and then he invited sincerely:

"Sister Tonks, if it weren't for you, I wouldn't have been able to inherit the estate so smoothly. I want to treat you to lunch to express my gratitude. You won't refuse me, right?"

"I" Tonks originally wanted to say that she still had to go back to the Ministry of Magic, but when she saw George's sincere and expectant eyes, and recalled the delicious food she had eaten in the morning, she hesitated again.

"Of course I won't refuse. Thank you for your help."

It's already this late, so it's time to eat and fill our stomach. It won't be a big deal if we get back from the Ministry of Magic a little late.

Seeing that Tonks agreed, George felt a little relieved.

He needed Tonks to appear in his shop as much as possible so as to discourage the dark wizards in Knockturn Alley.

At the same time, he also wanted to have the best possible relationship with Tonks.

If Tonks could come to the store more often, he would have the opportunity to learn a few more spells from Tonks before going to Hogwarts.

This is very important to his essence.

It is not easy to escape from the experimental base, and it is even more difficult to resist the subsequent pursuit after escaping. Every additional magic you learn will provide you with an extra level of protection.

Especially since he knew that the main body would not have much time to escape from the experimental base.

"Fortunately, I'm a good cook!"

George planned to prepare a table full of delicious food to see if he could use the food to get Tonks to come more often.

As the old wizard's slave, Dora had good cooking skills after years of training, and George himself had some interest in food in his previous life.

Although I am not as good as those professional chefs, my cooking skills are unanimously recognized by my friends around me.

Of course, the tastes of Eastern and Western peoples for food are definitely different, but it doesn’t matter. He can cook some of the most popular oriental dishes in the UK, so the margin for error is lower.

Besides, there isn’t much delicious food in the UK. How does that saying go?

It seems that the thinnest books in the world are British cookbooks and American history books.

"What kind of dish is this? It tastes very special. Why have I never eaten it anywhere else before?"

"Sweet and Sour Pork."

"What about this? It's delicious too."

“Kung Pao Chicken.”

"and this?"

"Scrambled eggs with tomatoes."

After lunch, Tonks sat in a chair, touched her bulging belly and sighed:

“I didn’t expect you could cook Chinese food.”

"If you think it's delicious, Sister Tonks, you can come over often when you have time. I can cook a lot of delicious dishes."

George said with a smile as he cleared the dishes.

Tonks waved her hand.

"How can that be possible? I'm not that thick-skinned."

In her opinion, George was already very pitiful, so how could she take advantage of him by relying on her status as an Auror? That was not her style.

Seeing Tonks' refusal, George probably guessed the reason, so he said seriously:
“Sister Tonks, don’t feel embarrassed. It’s actually very helpful to me if you can come over for dinner more often.

This is Knockturn Alley."

At this point, there is no need to beat around the bush.

Tonks was not stupid. After George's reminder, she reacted immediately.

"In that case, fine, I'll come and have dinner with you when I'm free.

But I won’t eat your meal for free. I will buy all the dishes for you, so you are not allowed to refuse.”
