Marvel's Magic Master
Chapter 35: George the Points-Getting Maniac
Chapter 35: George the Points-Getting Maniac
At the end of History of Magic, George was no longer alone, but surrounded by many little wizards.
"Did you really memorize so many magic books?"
"Yes, my memory is pretty good."
"I heard you were going to win the house cup for Slytherin?"
"That's natural."
On the way back, George handled the questions from the Slytherin wizards of the same grade with ease. He always appeared confident but not arrogant, and soon became friends with them.
Even the three roommates who had been beaten by him before looked at him with more admiration.
Slytherin is like this. As long as you are a Slytherin, as long as you are good enough and can win honor and benefits for them, they will instinctively gather around you.
As a freshman, George scored an incredible 50 points for Slytherin in the first class of the new semester, which was a source of pride for all the first-year students.
Of course, if George wants to truly become the leader of Slytherin, this achievement alone is far from enough.
But at least it's a good start.
The news that he had obtained 50 points for Slytherin from Mr. Binns in the History of Magic class was spread by the little wizards and soon became known to most teachers and students in the school.
Normally it wouldn't be that fast, mainly because Professor Binns was famous for not giving marks, plus George's speech in the morning was still hot, so the two speeches just happened to collide.
The good thing was that when he was sitting in the Slytherin common room reading at night, senior Slytherins would come over from time to time to say hello and get to know him.
Even when Malfoy wanted to cause trouble for him, he was stopped by the prefect.
The next day, I had two Transfiguration classes in the morning, and I attended them with the Hufflepuff first years.
As soon as George walked into the classroom, he was stared at by the young Hufflepuff wizards. Apparently, they had also heard about George getting 50 points for Slytherin yesterday.
However, they did not say anything provocative. Most of the young Hufflepuff wizards had good personalities and were just simply curious.
"Meow!"
Just as the Transfiguration class was about to begin, a tabby cat walked in from the door, and then, amid the exclamations of the little wizards, transformed into Professor McGonagall in a dark green robe.
"Animagus transformation."
George's eyes lit up when he saw Mag transform from a cat into a human.
This is a very advanced form of transfiguration, which allows one to change into a fixed animal. Although it cannot be a magical creature and can only be one kind, he still finds it very useful.
Because no matter what animal it is, as long as it is not too conspicuous, it is a very good camouflage.
This kind of disguise is very useful whether it is used to obtain intelligence or for escape and tracking.
Imagine that you are being chased by a large group of agents, and you are also being monitored by satellites. There are countless sniper rifles in the distance, and there is no way to escape.
But if you have mastered the Animagus transformation, you can just find a house, turn into a normal creature and hide away.
If it were a cat, people might still be a little suspicious, but if it were something like a fly, a mosquito, a ladybug, etc., then they would really be able to move freely.
"Transfiguration is the most complex and dangerous magic you will learn at Hogwarts. If anyone misbehaves in my class, I will ask him to leave and never let him come in again.
I warned you!"
Professor McGonagall walked up to the podium and first gave a stern warning. Then she waved her wand and easily turned the desk into a pig, and then changed it back again.
The students were all attracted by this and wanted to start learning this magical magic right away.
Only after Mr. McGonagall explained the theory in a class did they realize how difficult it was to turn such a large lecture into a pig. "It turns out that famous teachers are different."
After listening to a theoretical class, George was filled with emotion.
Transfiguration is picked out from all spells as a separate subject, which shows that this subject is much more advanced than other magic.
Although he spent time studying it and even memorized the entire textbook (mainly relying on cheating on the computer for the History of Magic), there were still many things he didn't understand.
Even though he asked Tonks several times, he still couldn't understand what Tonks explained.
This is like you are learning a book of advanced mathematics. Even if you memorize the whole book, you may not get many points in the exam.
Professor McGonagall is a top Transfiguration master with many years of teaching experience. With her explanation, George had a breakthrough in his understanding of Transfiguration.
"Five points to Slytherin!"
Before the end of the first class, there was naturally a question-and-answer session, and George naturally scored five points.
There was no way. The two heads had strong memories, and they were taking notes on the computer. Not to mention the serious knowledge points, even Professor McGonagall's scolding was written down word for word.
Moreover, Professor McGonagall is different from Professor Snape. She is very fair in her work and treats all students equally. She would not deliberately make things difficult for George or not give him points just because he is a Slytherin.
On the contrary, seeing that George's answer was perfect and that he had some understanding of Transfiguration, a rare smile appeared on the corner of his mouth.
The first section is theory and the second section is naturally the practical class.
Professor McGonagall gave each of them a match and asked them to use a basic Transfiguration spell to turn it into a needle.
But this was obviously not easy for the little wizards. They chanted the spell again and again, waved their wands again and again, but the matches remained matches. Only for a few talented little wizards, the matches showed some changes, but there was still a distance before they could turn into needles.
"Don't give up. Practice more. Think about the key points I taught you in the last class. The speed and rhythm of the spell, the angle of the wand swing, and most importantly, your heart. You must firmly believe that you can turn it into a needle."
Professor McGonagall walked back and forth in the classroom, constantly correcting the mistakes made by some young wizards in casting spells.
But when she walked to George's seat, she couldn't help but brighten her eyes:
"Five points for Slytherin!"
Because she saw a perfect needle. Not only was the needle tip very sharp, but even the threading hole at the end of the needle was flawless.
After hearing Professor McGonagall's words of extra points, the young wizards all turned their eyes to Qiao Zhi, and when they saw the perfect needle on his desk, they showed envy and admiration.
At this time, George just smiled and did not say anything shocking.
In fact, after the first class, he had already mastered one of the essentials of Transfiguration, or rather, the essentials of most spells.
That is the power of the mind, the power of belief.
When learning a new spell, the spell and wand are just auxiliary, otherwise no wizard would be able to cast spells silently and without a wand.
The most important thing is the mind, that is, spiritual power, which is the basis of the completion of magic.
It is said that the magic in the Harry Potter world is very idealistic, and there is some truth to it.
He happens to have a great advantage in this regard, because in addition to being a wizard, he also has the psychic power of a second-level mutant.
So after learning the theoretical knowledge from Professor McGonagall, he successfully turned the match into a needle after just a few attempts.
The key point is that he felt that with his spiritual power, it might be more than that.
Maybe he can't turn the podium into a pig, but he should be able to transform something bigger, like the size of a fist, now.
