The Devil Comes to America

Chapter 33: You are not professional

Chapter 33: You are not professional

In an unnamed alley, there are many such alleys in Los Angeles.

In other words, there are many shadows of such high-rise buildings in various modern cities.

Two black men stood in front of Xiunuo. One of them looked towards the alley entrance from time to time, while the other said nervously, "If you don't want to cause trouble, hand over the money."

Xiu Nuo couldn't help laughing when he saw the two guys were nervous: "Is this your first time doing this?"

The psychological qualities of these two people are far different from those I met on the road.

"Don't talk nonsense!" The black man raised his fist: "If you don't want to taste its power, hand over the money! We just saw it!"

"Can you at least take a knife?" Xiu Nuo looked helpless: "Not even a knife, this shows that you are very disrespectful to me, right?"

The black man was a little overwhelmed by Xiunuo's calmness. He thought for a moment and replied, "Well, I will prepare it next time."

But as soon as he finished speaking, he got anxious: "Shut up, Asian! I'm the one robbing now! Do you understand? Robbery!"

Xiunuo shook his head, then raised his hand and punched the wall next to him.

With a cracking sound, the bricks broke apart and a fist mark appeared on the wall.

Xiu Nuo looked at the two black men with a smile: "If it's a fist like this, it's definitely more powerful than a knife, right?"

"Holy Shit!" The black man opened his mouth to an exaggerated degree. He stared at Xiunuo's fist in amazement, then looked at the wall.

Then the black man turned and ran, shouting, "Call 911! Call 911! These Orientals are using this thing to take away our jobs!"

Xiunuo was frowning behind him.

He kicked his feet and rushed in front of the two black men.

The two were so scared that they sat down on the ground.

Xiu Nuo looked at them with dissatisfaction: "Can you at least have some professional ethics as robbers? Are you leaving without stealing anything?"

The two black men swallowed hard, and one of them said, "There must be some misunderstanding between us, sir. I mean, I mean, the weather is nice today, isn't it?"

Xiu Nuo looked dissatisfied: "Gentlemen, please be more professional, otherwise I will be embarrassed to do it."

The other black man seemed to understand something.

He simply turned his trouser pockets inside out.

The empty trouser pocket was much cleaner than his face.

"We have nothing, sir. Seriously, I'm not lying to you."

"I'm not robbing."

The other one saw Xiu Nuo like this and got a little anxious: "Don't mess around! The police will be here in ten minutes! We..."

He originally wanted to say that he could definitely hold on until the police arrived, but considering the contrast between his body and the wall, he couldn't utter the second half of the sentence.

He couldn't understand why this seemingly skinny and small Oriental man's punch could be so terrifying.

Could it be.
The black man stood up quickly, then raised his fist and punched the wall.

Then there was a scream.

“It’s true! Shit! It’s true!!”

Xiunuo was filled with question marks. Is this black guy mentally ill?
Why smash the wall if you have nothing to do?
"Forget it." Xiu Nuo waved his hand and said to them, "Remember to bring a knife with you next time you go out. Be more ruthless."

Having said that, Xiunuo turned and left.

The two black men are still confused.

"What did he just say? Did I hear it wrong? Is he giving us career guidance?" "Uh, it seems so."

"That's not right." The black man hadn't recovered yet: "Shouldn't we be taught to be good people?"

“Maybe he’s not good at English?”

"Did you see anything bad about him when he threatened us?"

"Then we should bring a knife next time?"

"No, I think the outcome will be the same even if you bring a knife." The black man grinned and shook his hands as if he had made up his mind.

"We should find a gun! There are no guns in this damn place. We don't even have the freedom to rob!"

The other black man nodded repeatedly: "That's right! You are a genius!"

At the entrance of the alley, Xiu Nuo turned around and walked out, looking at Li Yang who had followed him cautiously: "Didn't I ask you to wait for me?"

Li Yang looked at Xiu Nuo in shock: "How did you do it?"

"what?"

“That punch.”

"Uh, Kung Fu." Xiunuo used what everyone else had been saying before.

"Stop it." Li Yang grinned, "We are all from the same place, you just need to fool these foreigners. Those Kung Fu learners were beaten up in the ring."

Xiu Nuo shrugged his shoulders and said, "Maybe they are not skilled enough. Putting that aside, what's wrong with these two guys? They don't even rob properly."

"I told you, they are just homeless people. They are not real robbers."

"Then why are you here to rob?"

"It may be a whim. It's not surprising that these people do anything on a whim. Of course, it would be even better if there is the temptation of money."

"So why are there so many homeless people here?"

"Well, this." Li Yang thought for a moment, then said, "There are many reasons. The Asians and Latinos you see are usually illegal immigrants. What can they do if they can't find a job without a work permit or don't want to be exploited by a black-hearted boss? They just wander around."

"As for the black and white people you just saw, their situations are more complicated. One of my neighbors was laid off by the company, and his wife divorced him. Then he couldn't pay the child support and went bankrupt, so he became a vagrant."

"A month ago, there were two white neighbors. One was in bankruptcy because of credit, which is much more terrible than bankruptcy. The reason was divorce. The other was because his wife and a..."

"Wait a minute." Xiu Nuo stopped Li Yang: "Why are they all talking about divorce? Is this thing so scary?"

"Well, what should I say?" Li Yang thought for a moment, then said, "I don't really understand. You have to ask a white person. After all, I haven't been married here. I only know that you need to pay 50% of your income as child support for the two children. Also, if your wife was heavily dependent on you financially when you got married, after the divorce, in addition to paying child support, you also have to pay her alimony so that she can maintain her living standards."

"Let her maintain her living standard?" Xiu Nuo looked confused: "What about me?"

"Who cares? Just work hard. The third thing you didn't let me finish is that he has two children and a wife, and he gave 70% of his monthly income to them. He couldn't bear it anymore and chose to become a homeless person."

"In addition to those who are divorced, there are some who are lazy, and some who apply for bankruptcy protection due to the economic environment. These people usually have bankrupt credit, and it is difficult for them to work again. Oh, yes, there is also a group of veterans who have returned from the battlefield. America doesn't care about them, and some of them suffer from PTSD, so they become homeless."

Xiu Nuo held his chin in his hand; "So, how do homeless people survive?"

"A relief center. Oh, yes, I heard there is also a relief fund, a lot of money. But, anyway, I haven't seen it."

“No one has ever thought about making a comeback?”

"Yes, but it's basically impossible. Besides, most of those who can wander around don't have much of a chance to rise again, so how can they make a comeback? Does being able to work count as making a comeback?"

Xiu Nuo pursed his lips. He suddenly thought of a way to improve his cultivation and also gain merit in teaching others, although he didn't know if there was such a thing in this world.

But, give it a try, it’s free anyway.
