The Devil Comes to America

Chapter 275: The Chaotic Phoenix

Chapter 275: The Chaotic Phoenix

When Robin woke up again, it was already the next day, and he was surprised to find that Morris was gone.

He was asked to take some tests, and naturally he passed.

But Robin felt that he seemed to have not changed at all.

Finally, on the third day, Robin was brought to the meeting room.

Bob sat opposite him and smiled, "I have good news for you. The experiment was successful, Lieutenant Morris."

"is it?"

Bob smiled and said, "Well, although it is a little different from what we expected, such as becoming stronger, it is enough. We also took into account the situation of the third-phase experimental subjects, so this time, it is not just the third phase."

As he spoke, Bob clapped his hands.

Soon, six people walked in.

One of the black men looked normal, but the other five were hunched over.

"Let me introduce you. This is Arthur Brand, a former boxer and now our fourth-phase perfect experimental subject."

The black man named Arthur held out his hand to Robin. "Nice to meet you, Lieutenant Morris."

Bob continued to introduce: "The ones behind are his hunting team."

Robin frowned slightly: "You don't believe me?"

"Everything is to catch that Simpson." Bob said, turning on the projector in the conference room, which contained a series of case files and reports.

"Look at these."

Robin looked over, and when he saw the photos of the dead, his instinct as an FBI agent made him blurt out: "A serial killer?"

"Yes." Bob said, "And we have confirmed that it was Simpson who did it, and now Simpson is still in Phoenix, so your mission is very simple, enter Phoenix, catch him, and then bring him back."

"In addition to your two fourth-stage perfect test subjects and a hunting team, there will be two third-stage test subject teams to cooperate with you. With so many people, there should be no problem, right?"

Robin frowned: "Do we have the right to destroy this guy?"

"Of course not. That's why you're here." Bob said calmly, "Given the situation at Luke Air Force Base, if we want to eliminate him, you don't need to do anything. Your mission is to capture him alive, even if someone dies. You must capture him alive."

Arthur sat on a chair nearby and said disdainfully, "It doesn't look like a difficult task, right, Lieutenant Morris?"

Robin glanced at him but said nothing.

Arthur laughed. "Sir, you were not scared by this soldier, were you? I heard that you did not stop him, and he destroyed Base No. 3."

Robin immediately looked at Bob.

Bob said calmly, "Intelligence needs to be shared. Simpson took away the medicine from Base No. 3. Although we don't know how much Base No. 3 has produced, this is information that concerns life, isn't it?"

Robin didn't say much on the matter, just asked; "What do I need to do?"

"Lead the three phase test subjects." Arthur said, "Attract them, and then we will catch them."

"I'm the bait?"

"You know each other, don't you?"

Robin hesitated for a few seconds before speaking: "Okay."

Bob smiled happily, "Thank you for your help, Lieutenant Morris. Now, I want to tell you about the situation in Phoenix."

"What's going on in Phoenix? What happened in Phoenix?"

"Well, maybe winter is coming. Something is wrong in Phoenix these past two days." Bob pointed his finger at the remote control, and then some situations in Phoenix appeared.

After seeing the photo, Robin frowned and asked, "Civil strife?"

"It's not a civil unrest, but it looks like someone has taken too many drugs." Bob spread his hands. "Just yesterday at noon, a racist lunatic shot and killed a black homeless man on the street, and then was arrested by a patrolling policeman."

Robin said calmly, "It's nothing new. Why did it become like this?"

"Because he was released by PPD that night. The reason given by PPD was that many witnesses came to the police station to testify that the black man attacked the white man first, so he acted in self-defense."

Robin frowned. "This should be decided by the court, right? At worst, it's the prosecutor who decides whether to prosecute."

"So here's the problem." Bob spread his hands: "Black people took to the streets, protested, and raided shops. They felt that the policeman and the guy who testified for him were racists, as were the entire PPD."

Robin was silent for a while, then said: "This is very common in Los Angeles."

"But this is Phoenix," Bob said. "It's not as open as Los Angeles. Black people took to the streets, white people took to the streets, and both sides started fighting. PPD took a lot of effort to temporarily suppress some of them, but it's clear that both sides have no intention of giving up."

"It's really lively." Morris suddenly appeared beside Robin and said, "What a great opportunity, Robin."

Robin, who was about to speak, shut up instantly.

Arthur, on the other hand, sneered, "We already understand the situation, but if Simpson runs this way, what can we do?"

"As long as we don't get caught," Bob said without hiding anything, "You can do whatever you want. It's already quite chaotic anyway."

Robin was about to say something, but Morris spoke up: "Be careful, Robin. Don't expose yourself with these guys from the fourth period. You are just an FBI agent, not the president or the governor. Your responsibility is to investigate the case. Why do you care about racial discrimination? It's just a black man who died. Did you see that Arthur? I bet you ten dollars that he will definitely kill a few white people. Do you believe it?"

Robin was silent.

As night fell, two convoys drove out of Luke Air Force Base.

However, Arthur, who was supposed to be following behind, drove up to catch up.

He pointed at his headphones and took them off.

Robin understood what he meant and took off his headphones.

Arthur said, "You got the injection too, sir."

Robin nodded slightly.

Morris then smiled and said, "That's good. So, you found that your body has changed, right?"

Robin didn't answer immediately, but asked: "What do you want to say?"

Arthur said quietly, "Cooperation. In other words, you need to find someone who can really help you, right? Base No. 3 has been destroyed, and you are alone now. How about cooperation?"

"What cooperation?"

"Simpson has drugs that he brought out of the lab." Arthur said, "We split 70% and 30% respectively. Don't think it's too little. We have more people on our side. But when we go back, tell them that those drugs were injected by Simpson, okay?"

Robin looked at Arthur in shock.

In his memory, the fourth-phase perfect experimental subject was not so selfish.

In the passenger seat, Morris whistled: "Look at Robin, look at him, are you going to tell him that Simpson doesn't have any of that crap potion? You still have one bottle, right?"

"Okay." Robin agreed to this guy directly. After seeing Arthur step on the brakes with satisfaction and follow behind, Robin muttered: "Is he the next Simpson?"

"Definitely." Morris said to the rearview mirror.
