Chapter 130 Conditions for Resurrection
Chapter 130 Conditions for Resurrection
The icy river water quickly engulfed the truck. The broken windows were unable to block the raging torrent and the car was instantly filled with freezing water.
Steve, who turned into a bald eagle, lost his previous swimming skills. After he and Bucky smashed the car window and escaped from the truck, he tried his best to open the rear compartment so that the animals hiding inside could escape.
The coldness and pressure of the water caused his limbs to gradually lose feeling. Soon after, his consciousness became increasingly blurred and he eventually fell into a coma.
When Steve opened his eyes again, his vision was blurry and he could hear the sound of falling water.
He struggled to sit up, his vision gradually focused, and what came into view was an extremely tall man.
The man had a full beard and a burly figure, like a moving mountain. He exuded a sense of power that was hard to ignore, as if his presence was permeating the air.
At his feet, squatting, sat a tiny otter, so small as a mouse that Steve almost ignored its presence.
"Bucky?" Steve's voice was a little weak, but there was a hint of surprise in his eyes.
"Steve, you're awake!" Bucky turned his head suddenly and shouted in surprise, then trotted over and helped Steve up.
His movements were gentle yet urgent, as if he was afraid of disturbing something, yet he couldn't wait to confirm that Steve was safe.
Steve asked softly, "Who is that?"
Bucky replied, "You and I were swept away by the river, and this gentleman saved us. He is a magician."
"Magician?" Steve's eyes widened slightly, full of curiosity and confusion.
"To be precise, I'm a magical animal keeper."
The giant gave a friendly smile and said in a low, warm voice: "You can call me Hagrid."
"Magical creature keeper?" Steve repeated, trying to comprehend this new and strange title.
"That is, the person who is responsible for getting along with you little cuties."
Hagrid explained, with a hint of mischief in his tone. He extended his broad palm to Steve and Bucky, as if a warm shelter: "Would you like to come with me? Back to Hogwarts together."
"Hogwarts?" Steve and Bucky asked almost in unison, their eyes full of confusion.
This is another unfamiliar term.
“Oh, it’s a wonderful place.”
Hagrid's voice was full of longing and pride: "You will definitely like it very much."
Steve and Bucky looked at each other and nodded slowly.
"Fairy tale world?"
In the lounge of the transport plane, after Fury heard Steve's narration, the shock and solemnity on his face were revealed without any concealment.
"Seven levels? Now that even the first three levels are so dangerous, aren't the last four levels even more terrifying?"
Steve nodded silently, still feeling frightened when he recalled his previous experience.
During that time, every step they took was like walking on thin ice, and the god of luck seemed to always be favoring them.
"In terms of danger level, we can barely handle the monster on the first floor."
Steve's voice was low and slow, as if every word was filled with heavy memories: "If we had fought head-on, we would have been wiped out on the first floor, not to mention Little Red Riding Hood on the second floor and the Clockwork King on the third floor."
"It's enough to lose only one Bucky." Steve's voice suddenly choked, and a trace of pain and guilt flashed in his eyes. He took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down, but the pain of losing his comrades was still surging in his heart, like a surging wave, hitting his heart again and again.
Fury stood aside, his eyes fixed on Steve's face.
He could feel Steve's inner struggle and pain, the deep helplessness and sadness almost suffocated Steve.
Fury pondered for a moment, and finally said: "Steve, we must be vigilant against the invasion of the fairy tale world. I have a feeling that they will not give up because of this failure, and they will come back one day."
"I know." Steve's voice was low and firm, as if he was suppressing the grief and anger in his heart.
"What about the Holy Lord? Did he say anything about the fairy tale world?" Fury asked, frowning, obviously very concerned about this issue.
"He just said it was dangerous there." Steve's answer was brief but full of deep concern.
"Okay, you rest for a while, and we'll have a meeting together later." Fury patted Steve's shoulder, trying to give him some comfort and support.
Steve watched Fury leave the room, still feeling heavy inside.
He closed the door and walked to the bathroom. The sound of water running from the faucet was particularly clear in the empty room.
He splashed the cold water on his face, trying to sober himself up.
Looking in the mirror, there was a hint of fatigue and determination in my eyes.
After staring for a moment, Steve's eyes gradually became calm: "Lord, I know you can hear me. I want Bucky to come back to life. Tell me, what are your conditions?"
In the mirror, Steve's right eye suddenly turned scarlet, and an evil smile appeared at the corner of his mouth, as if a dark force was awakening in his body.
The Holy Lord's voice came out coldly through Steve's mouth: "Steve, I want you to not resist my control over your body when you need strength."
"Is it that simple?" Steve was full of doubt and frowned slightly.
"No, it's not that simple."
The Holy Lord's voice was cold and without a smile: "Even a small mistake in the battle will lead to ultimate failure. Therefore, you must restrain your instincts and not hinder me. I don't want to go back to that parchment so soon."
Steve has rich combat experience and knows that what the Holy Lord said is true.
He pondered for a moment, and finally nodded: "Okay, I promise you."
Steve knew in his heart that the Holy Lord's request was not as simple as it seemed on the surface, and there must be a deeper purpose hidden behind it.
But for Bucky, he was willing to take the risk.
"Very good, but don't be happy too soon. Buggy's resurrection may not be successful." The Holy Lord's voice was filled with a hint of cold sarcasm.
"Huh? What do you mean?" Steve's heart suddenly rose to his throat, and his voice was anxious.
"literal meaning."
The Holy Lord's tone was still cold and ruthless: "I am not in my prime right now. It is not so easy to revive that guy."
The Holy Lord smiled, and that smile was like an icy blade cutting through Steve's heart. "Perhaps, you can wait for me to become stronger, so that the success rate will be higher. Otherwise, if Bucky fails to be resurrected, he may turn into a monster. So, are you willing to wait?"
Steve was silent for a long time, took a deep breath, and said, "Okay, I'll wait for you to get stronger."
