Chapter 117 The Wolf
Chapter 117 The Wolf
In the pet clinic, a pretty black-haired woman was gently bandaging the wound of Steve, a bald eagle. Her technique was skillful and her movements were gentle, as if she was handling a precious work of art.
Soon, Steve was bandaged like a mummy, with only his head exposed.
"Okay, this should be fine."
The woman carefully placed the bandaged Steve into a spacious cage and gently closed the door.
Bucky's originally tense face relaxed a little at this moment, but there was still some worry between his brows.
"Just in case,"
The woman said softly, with a soothing tone in her voice: "We should keep him here and continue to observe him for a while."
Bucky nodded. "Thanks, doctor. Money."
"I'll pay for it, right?"
The blonde beauty at the side noticed Bucky’s embarrassment and said first, “Doctor Wendy will give me a discount, right?”
"Haha, yes, yes."
"Okay, I won't disturb you from continuing your work. We'll go out first."
Bucky curled his lips, glanced at the listless little animals locked in cages in the clinic, and left the clinic with the blonde beauty.
"Thank you, uh"
"My name is Edith. You look a little strange, first time in town?"
"Yep."
Bucky hesitated, but continued to ask: "Where is this? Is this the second floor?"
Edith's eyes flashed with a strange color, and she smiled and nodded, "Yes, this is the fairy tale town on the second floor. I guess you came down from the third floor? Because no one has come to the first floor for a long time."
fairytale town?
Bucky blinked and didn't answer. Instead, he asked, "My companions and I are lost. Do you know any way to help me find them quickly?"
Edith frowned slightly and shrugged: "I'm not sure, maybe go to the police station and ask for help?"
"Alright."
So, the two of them set out on the road to the police station together.
The so-called police station is actually just a simple little house.
The house had a mottled exterior and some broken glass on the windows, and it looked a bit out of repair. When I walked in, I was greeted by a policeman on duty.
He looked full of energy and asked Bucky if he needed any help.
Bucky briefly described the appearance of Steve and the others, emphasizing that they were wearing uniforms similar to his own.
Unfortunately, the police shook their heads in disappointment and told him that they had not found a stranger matching Bucky's description.
"You go back and wait for news." said the police helplessly.
It seems that things are back to square one.
Bucky looked at the setting sun in the distance, and his worry grew stronger.
"You probably have nowhere to go, right? Would you like to stay at my house for a night?" Edith invited him.
"Don't get me wrong, it's just more convenient this way."
Bucky thought about it and nodded in agreement.
On the other side, Steve stood in a green grassland, looking at a group of cute sheep in front of him with surprise.
These sheep stood upright on their feet and spoke like humans: "Human, human, what is your name?"
Well, we’ve seen talking turtles before, so it’s no big deal if sheep talk.
Steve put away his surprise and smiled: "My name is Steve, what's yours?"
"Happy sheep!"
"Beautiful Sheep!"
"Boiling sheep!"
"."
Each sheep announced its name, then jumped around Steve with a smile on its face, getting closer and closer, and pounced on Steve together, as if wanting to play with him.
Steve swiftly dodged to the side, avoiding the lambs that were rushing towards him, then reached back and grabbed the knife that was stabbing from behind.
At that moment, his eyes were as cold as ice, shooting straight at Pleasant Goat behind him.
There was a flash of surprise in Pleasant Goat's eyes. He obviously didn't expect that his sneak attack could be resolved so easily.
"What exactly do you want to do?" Steve's voice was low and powerful, as if carrying an invisible pressure.
Every word he said was like a heavy hammer, hitting Pleasant Goat's heart. Pleasant Goat couldn't help but take a step back. His heartbeat quickened, cold sweat seeped out of his forehead, and his cute face became extremely hideous.
"Of course I'm going to kill you! Come on!" Pleasant Goat roared ferociously.
The originally docile and cute lambs suddenly changed their expressions, revealing ferocious smiles. They pulled out various simple but deadly weapons such as knives, iron rods, iron pots, etc. from their arms, shouted in unison, and rushed towards Steve fiercely.
"Really? Then don't blame me for being rude." Steve responded coldly. Without hesitation, the shield in his hand flew out swiftly like a flash of lightning that cut through the air.
The shield spun in the air, making a shrill whistling sound, knocking down several lambs in succession, causing a splash of blood. After knocking down the last lamb, it returned to Steve's hands as if it had life.
Steve's movements were clean and neat, without any hesitation. There was no trace of mercy on his face, only coldness and determination. He knew that this was a life-and-death struggle, and there was no room for mercy.
In his eyes, those lambs were no longer harmless animals, but ferocious enemies.
The pace of the battle was getting faster and faster, and the air was filled with tension and danger.
Every swing of the shield was like a death knell, and also meant the fall of a sheep.
After a while, Steve took back the shield while panting. There was no sheep standing around. He walked in front of Pleasant Goat, put the shield across his neck, and said coldly: "I think you will tell me everything you know, right?"
Unexpectedly, Pleasant Goat sneered, with a hint of sarcasm and cunning in his eyes: "Haha, do you really think you won?"
"Huh?" Steve frowned in confusion. Suddenly, he heard a sound of breaking air. His heart tightened and he thought to himself that something was wrong. He almost instinctively moved the shield behind him quickly.
"Swish!" A sharp friction sound was heard, and Steve felt a huge impact force suddenly hit him. He was knocked flying and rolled heavily on the ground before he could barely stabilize his body.
He gasped, looked up at the field, and suddenly there was shock in his eyes.
Those lambs that originally seemed harmless began to tear off their sheepskins one by one, revealing the ferocious wolf shapes underneath.
Each wolf's eyes flashed with ferocity and its teeth were sharp white, as if it was ready to pounce on its prey at any time.
Even Pleasant Goat who escaped from his control was no exception. Under Steve's nose, he tore off his disguise, and his body kept growing taller, turning into a ferocious gray wolf over two meters tall.
It stared at Steve teasingly and sneered, "Haha, you've been pretending to be a sheep for too long, and I'm a little uncomfortable with it. Now, let's start the second round. I hope you can make us enjoy it."
Steve stood up and shook his head: "I can fight you all day long!"
