Chapter 320: The War Caused by the Death Anniversary Banquet
"Nick, hey - I mean, where's Ms. Grey?" Harry asked curiously to Nick who was struggling to stuff food into his mouth.
Even though he was very careful, some of the juicy food, its juice still penetrated the ground and disappeared.
This makes Nick, the most lively one, only slightly better than the Bloody Baron.
"She doesn't like noisy environments."
"But I think she must be afraid of being seen eating by others."
"After all, she is a woman, but she hasn't eaten for thousands of years. She will definitely not be able to control her eating manners when the time comes."
Nick said after swallowing a piece of dry pie.
"Why don't you have something to drink?" Ron asked as he quickly filled his plate.
"so!"
"Look at how I eat!" Nick said impatiently.
He grabbed the left ear and pulled it down.
His head slid off his neck and rested on his shoulders as if it were on hinges.
The sudden opening of the head caused the ghostly food residues in the esophagus to splash everywhere, and many people around enjoyed the same feeling of being doused with ice water as Simo.
"Gah!" Lisa Dupin accidentally swallowed it because she was too focused on Riddle on the staff table.
The ghostly food she swallowed passed right through her body and disappeared onto the marble floor.
"Hey, be careful Nick!" Ron hurried to protect his food, but the ghostly food remnants passed through his hands and the food under his hands.
"Not bad." Harry stroked his chest gently. A piece of food residue almost flew past his scalp, but with the dynamic nerves of the youngest chaser of this century, he narrowly avoided it.
Dean didn't notice anything, the residue just went through his hair.
"Sorry," Nick hastily released the head, letting it bounce back onto his head.
Then, the food scraps flew even wider.
Even Draco, who was sitting at the Slytherin table at the very edge, was unfortunately caught.
Everyone couldn't help but look at Nick angrily.
Nick's face turned even more bitter.
He had always been a very particular ghost, and considered himself an aristocrat - noble and elegant.
One could tell from his appearance alone—long curly hair topped with a fashionable hat with a feather, and he wore a knee-length tunic with a cartwheel-shaped ruffled collar that hid the fact that his neck was almost completely severed—unmistakably the attire of an English aristocrat.
"Are you okay?" Harry looked at Nick, who was almost depressed, with concern.
"Ah," Nearly Headless Nick waved an elegant long hand, "it's a small matter... I can just be more careful... I thought I could just avoid juicy food, but then I forgot about my neck."
His tone was nonchalant, but his face showed deep pain.
"Tell me what you think," he suddenly burst out, "Why am I so unlucky? First, I was chopped on the neck by a blunt axe forty-four times, but it didn't cut off, so I was not qualified to join the Headless Hunter Team. Now, it's even difficult for me to drink some wine or eat some juicy steak!"
"The reason you can't join the Headless Hunter team is because your neck is not completely broken, and there is still a little skin and tendons connecting your neck?" Harry suddenly said.
"Hey, brother." Ron, who had no emotional intelligence, felt that Harry shouldn't say that. He pushed Harry's shoulder and reminded him.
"Yeah! Most people would think that what I did is actually the same as losing my head. But no, in the eyes of Mr. Debomo, who has completely lost his head, this is not enough." Nick didn't notice Harry's rudeness. He recalled the many times he wrote to the Headless Hunter Team and was rejected.
"Then you are much better than Mr. Debomo. Your neck is not completely broken. You must be much better at eating than him!" Harry reminded. "Why didn't I think of it!"
"I could have him join me at my Deathday party!" Nick floated excitedly.
However, the next second, he suddenly stopped, looked at Harry, straightened his chest, and looked noble.
"This Halloween will be the 500th anniversary of my death. I will hold a party in a spacious underground classroom. My friends will come from all over the country. I would be honored if you could come too."
"And you can also see the funny scene of the Headless Hunters getting food all over themselves!" Nick said almost gritting his teeth.
"Of course, Mr Weasley and Mr Malfoy are favourites too - but I daresay you'd rather go to the school party, wouldn't you?" He looked at Harry anxiously.
You know, Harry is a well-known figure in the wizarding world and even in the ghost world, which also makes other ghosts think he is amazing.
Moreover, after making a fool of himself in front of such a famous person as Harry, Depomo and the others would definitely not dare to ridicule him again.
Hey!
"Okay, I'll go, what about you, Ron?" Harry said, and Nick looked at Ron eagerly.
"why not?"
"Bet there aren't many people alive who can say they've been to a party like that!" Ron nodded.
"We want to go too!" Ginny and Neville suddenly said.
They had been listening with their ears tilted for a long time, how could they not go for such a good thing!
"Good! Good! The more the better!" Nick flew around excitedly.
Not far away, Ryan looked at Hermione, who also tilted her ear, "Aren't you very curious? Why don't you go?"
"They are all so stupid!"
"I have learned about the Deathday party. The Deathdays of the ghosts in the past were held in the underground classroom because they couldn't eat."
"You can only taste it by walking through a pile of rotten, smelly food."
“But it’s different now.”
"I dare say that when Nick asks Dumbledore for a venue on the 31st of next month, which is Halloween, Dumbledore will definitely let them hold it in the Great Hall."
"How can Halloween be without ghosts!" Hermione raised her little face and said proudly.
"I think you forgot one thing."
"That means there will be a lot of ghosts at Nearly Headless Nick's Deathday party. There will be so many ghosts. It will be so cold."
"In my opinion, Dumbledore will probably let them find a room in the basement." Luna on the side suddenly said quietly.
"Not at all!"
"Your guess is as unreliable as those nymph hooks you mentioned!" Hermione frowned.
Luna looked directly at Hermione without fear.
Ryan clearly noticed that when Hermione mentioned the nymph hook, anger was clearly ignited in Luna's clear eyes.
"Nymph hooks do exist, and they often grow in mistletoe. They look like maggots, but are thicker and black. Adults have 5000 teeth, while juveniles have 3000. They have sickle-shaped hooks on their tails and three eyes. Their lifespan is about 20 years." Luna said word by word.
