Chapter 303 The Room of Requirement
Chapter 303 The Room of Requirement
On the eighth floor of Hogwarts, opposite the tapestry where the troll beat the fool Barnabas with a stick, a figure appeared out of thin air. However, his sudden appearance was extremely natural, as if he had been there from the beginning, but no one had noticed it.
However, strangely, even though this figure has appeared, the worm-eaten troll and the ballet teacher being beaten by it in the huge tapestry depicting the silly Barnabas trying to teach the troll to dance ballet are completely invisible to this figure.
It was as if he was a phantom, a person who did not exist.
Suddenly, a round black shadow jumped out from the figure in the black robe with gold thread.
This is a black cat that is just the right amount of fat. It was seen meowing and walking back and forth in front of the blank wall. After about three walks back and forth, a door appeared in front of it.
"Very good, it seems that this Room of Requirement is also sensitive to Xiu Cat." Ryan stretched out his left hand, and the fat cat jumped into his arms.
He reached out, grasped the brass handle, opened the door, and a room as big as a cathedral appeared in front of Ryan.
Even though Ryan already knew that the hiding place created by the Room of Requirement was very large, he couldn't help but be surprised for a moment.
It was indeed worth Ryan's patience for so long, as he never tried to ask the Room of Requirement to provide a place to hide things.
This place is so huge that it can be said to be a city with high walls, built with items hidden by generations of Hogwarts residents.
Thousands of years of accumulation have resulted in an astonishing amount of things here. It can even be said that there are so many that even the entire Hogwarts castle cannot hold them all.
Everything here is like a treasure. Ryan suddenly felt a little regretful. If he had come here earlier, he might not have to write books or set up a potion workshop.
Never mind the streets and alleys of broken furniture that might have been stuffed here to hide evidence of accidental magic, or hidden away by the house-elves who were there to keep the castle respectable.
Just looking at the thousands of books that were undoubtedly banned, defaced, or stolen is a huge value.
Magic books are very valuable, and these books hidden away are probably even more valuable.
There was also a mountain of forbidden objects not far away. Most of them were still somewhat useful, with a few winged slingshots and wolf-fang flying saucers still hovering feebly above the mountain of forbidden objects.
In Harry's original world line, they might just be junk, no different from a pile of broken furniture.
But in the eyes of Ryan, the alchemist, they can all be refurbished or disassembled into precious raw materials.
Not to mention the things that are obviously treasures at first glance - raw materials such as dragon eggshells from extinct dragons; jewelry; hat jewelry with strange magic or precious raw materials; some weapons that look like they are made of extraordinary materials; rare potions that still shine evilly after hundreds of years; and the results of half-finished or completed prohibited experiments.
"Damn Crabbe!" Ryan couldn't help but growl in pain.
Even if this hasn't happened yet, it's unlikely to happen again.
In the original world line, these precious tangible or intangible assets just disappeared - because of Crabbe's Fiendfyre.
Some of them are useful resources even from Ryan's current perspective.
However, Ryan's recollection of the final destruction of the Room of Requirement also allowed him to know which ones were good things.
[Around them, the last few things not consumed by the flames were thrown into the air in celebration by the evil fire monsters: cups, shields, a shining necklace, and an old, faded crown.] These last things to be consumed were undoubtedly good things.
A good thing that can be compared with the Horcrux of Voldemort, the level 6 demigod wizard.
However, before looking for these good things, Ryan must first find one thing, that is the Ravenclaw Diadem, which is Voldemort's Horcrux.
This Horcrux was hastily hidden by Voldemort when he returned to Hogwarts to apply for a job many years later.
This led to one thing, that is, Voldemort did not know that the Horcrux was in Hogwarts. Finding it was undoubtedly a very simple thing for Ryan.
You can use your mind to perceive the entire space, or you can let Jerry, the Horcrux killer, smell its location directly.
But that would be boring, so Ryan decided to rely on his memory of the text that Harry had hidden about the Half-Blood Prince.
"I think it's an alleyway that's directly opposite the entrance. Turn right after entering and you'll see a giant specimen. Continue walking forward and you'll see the precious but damaged Vanishing Cabinet. Turn left again and you'll come to a large cabinet with bubbles on the surface, as if it had been doused with strong acid."
"Is this it?" Ryan said to himself, relying on the conspicuous target of the troll specimen to find the alley and even the cabinet.
Ryan opened the creaking cabinet door, and inside it was a cage with a dead five-legged monster inside.
"It's really disgusting. If you can't afford a pet, don't keep one." Ryan couldn't help but complain.
It was obvious that it was forgotten by its owner and eventually starved to death.
What's even more ridiculous is that the five-legged monsters are actually a species formed by wizards who were cursed.
But this also means that Ryan was not wrong.
Sure enough, next to the crate there was a tattered bust of an ugly old wizard, and not far away was a gray old wig and a rusty crown.
"That's it?" Ryan was disappointed.
This is too simple.
Ryan couldn't understand why the protagonists in the fan fictions of his previous life, who had photographic memories, couldn't find a crown.
Its location is clearly stated.
And the crown itself won’t run away.
Judging from the fact that the surrounding layout had not changed when Harry entered again from behind and the crown was found again, there would be no changes in this hiding place.
From Ryan's point of view, the pattern of how things are placed is that the older the things were placed in the room, the further back they will be placed.
"Jerry, let's eat." Ryan said boredly.
The Horcrux represented by this crown, or all Horcruxes, require you to actually touch it in order to affect you, and it takes a relatively long time.
It itself actually has no external influence.
Therefore, when Jerry, its natural enemy, approached, the crown only trembled slightly.
As Jerry licked it, the soul fragment disappeared, and the Ravenclaw crown returned to its original appearance - crystal clear and white as jade.
Seeing that the goal had been achieved, Jerry in his hand became a little heavier.
Ryan let go of his thoughts - a cup, a shield, and a shining necklace appeared in his hands.
"Jack!" Ryan waved his hand, and a gray membrane appeared in front of Ryan. The house-elf Jack appeared respectfully in front of Ryan.
"Take these back to the castle first."
