Chapter 257: Farewell Letter
Chapter 257: Farewell Letter
Happy time is always short.
Especially when everything was moving in a good direction - after a few days of secret observation, Ginny finally confirmed that everything that had happened in Ron's room before was just a misunderstanding.
Only Fred and George occasionally joked about it.
About a week after arriving at the Burrow, on a fine morning, Harry received a letter from Sirius.
It was also because of this that they discovered a long-forgotten existence - the house-elf Kreacher.
In order to avoid being ordered around by Harry, he had not appeared around Harry these days and hadn't even said a word.
"Kreacher, where have you been these days?"
"And how do you manage to eat and sleep?" Ron asked curiously.
"Kreacher does not answer the words of a pure-blood traitor's son." Kreacher muttered with his head down.
"Kreacher, answer Ron's question, and don't call him that!" said Harry.
"Kreacher can only listen to Harry Potter. These are the orders of the prodigal. My poor mistress, Kreacher can only answer."
"Kreacher has been hiding next to Harry Potter. As long as Harry Potter doesn't find Kreacher and forgets about Kreacher, Kreacher doesn't have to obey the master's orders."
"Kreacher can catch his own food." Kreacher replied unwillingly.
"But we still have a lot of chickens," Ron asked curiously.
As the saying goes, children from poor families grow up early. Although Ron is not very sensible, he is very familiar with the number of chickens in his home.
"Kreacher, the disowned scion of his old master, has fallen enough - he ate your food on the first night, my mistress. Kreacher had no choice but to follow Harry Potter's orders."
"Kreacher is catching mice, frogs, and bugs to eat." Kreacher said breathlessly. He still managed to avoid calling Ron's name directly.
"Kreacher, I order you to eat the Weasleys' food for lunch today. No refusal is allowed!" Harry said firmly.
Although he felt sorry for Kreacher, Harry thought it would be better not to show it.
Otherwise, Kreacher would probably hurt himself.
Maybe not, he had never seen Kreacher hurt himself, maybe his old master or Sirius stopped him.
"Noon today? Are you leaving?" Ron poked his head out from under the orange quilt.
Now he was back to sleeping in his own bed, and without the humming of the zombies, he was a little insomniac.
"Are we leaving?" Draco poked his head out of the tent in his pajamas.
"Yes, there's a letter from Sirius, from Kreacher." Harry took out a letter.
Dear Harry:
Harry, I will come to the Weasleys' house to pick you three up this afternoon. You can talk to Arthur and Molly about this. Also, Dobby has already got a job with Dumbledore. By the way, when you get to my house, there is a new friend I want to introduce to you.
Your dear Sirius
"Does this mean that I will be able to see where my mother grew up?" Draco said longingly.
"I wonder why I don't see any owls," said Ron.
"Sirius must have done this on purpose. He knew Mrs. Weasley wouldn't agree to take us away just like that."
"But it would be different if I said so." Harry didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
"Who's the new friend?" Draco asked.
"Maybe it's that crazy elf Dobby? I knew Dumbledore wouldn't accept an elf who needed wages," said Ron.
The more he spoke, the more confident he became, and he stood up from the bed.
"Well, Ron."
"I remember reading the letter," said Harry.
He looked puzzled, as if he had seen a fish that couldn't swim.
"What?" Ron looked at Harry hesitantly.
"Sirius has already mentioned in the letter that Dobby got the job from Dumbledore." Draco stroked his forehead lightly. Even now, he was still a little uncomfortable with Ron who always acted stupidly occasionally.
He also realized how stupid he was to have thought that Ron was a cunning man who was trying to deceive Harry's trust.
"Ron. I thought it might be Lupin," said Harry awkwardly.
"Who is Lupin?" Ron quickly changed the subject. He actually remembered Lupin. "My father's friend."
About half an hour later, Harry, Ron and Draco went downstairs to prepare for breakfast.
Mr. and Mrs. Weasley and Ginny were already sitting at the dining table.
Harry was so nervously grasping the letter beneath his robes that he did not even notice the piece of bread Mrs. Weasley handed him.
"What's the matter Harry?" said Mrs. Weasley.
She looked at her youngest daughter, Ginny. She knew that Ginny had been secretly watching Harry these past few days, but she didn't know that she had put so much pressure on Harry.
"It has nothing to do with Ginny." Harry immediately understood Mrs. Weasley's actions and expressions.
Ginny at the side raised her pretty little face, looking confused.
Ron and Mr. Weasley were about to ask what was going on and what it had to do with Ginny, but the thought was nipped in the bud by the looks of Draco and Mrs. Weasley respectively.
"It's a letter from Sirius," Harry whispered.
Mrs. Weasley was like a mother to her these days, and telling her the news made Harry feel like a betrayal for some reason.
"When?" Mrs. Weasley's smile disappeared.
He subconsciously filled the bread he was about to hand over with several fried eggs, as if he was worried that Harry would leave their house thin.
"Sirius is coming at noon today." Harry shrank his neck.
"What's wrong, Mom?"
"Are Ron and Draco competing for favor again?"
"I don't think so, Fred, you see--"
"I'll go get Percy for breakfast." Fred and George disappeared again as soon as they came downstairs.
Then there was the sound of a car tire deflated. "I'm so confused. Didn't I know this a long time ago?" Mrs. Weasley said to herself.
"Arthur, you can drink today."
"Today at noon." Mrs. Weasley emphasized the last few words.
"drink wine!"
"What is it today—ah—I see, Molly—"
"I do see, Molly--" said Mr. Weasley.
"Mom, let's go out first." Even someone as slow-witted as Ron knew that this place was not suitable for him to stay any longer.
He grabbed a few pies and rushed out of the Burrow.
Draco and Harry followed closely behind, after saying polite goodbyes.
Even Ginny slipped away quietly.
"I bet Mom wants Dad to get Sirius drunk." Ron, who had already run to the garden, said breathlessly shortly afterwards.
"I don't think this is a good idea. Sirius already knows that Mrs. Weasley is difficult to deal with."
"See, he didn't even send the letter to her. He asked me to tell her about it," said Harry, half complaining and half serious.
"What does this have to do with us?"
"What's the difference between here and Sirius's house?" Draco said.
"Yes."
“It’s all for fun.”
I received the site section yesterday, saying that I got a small version of the ad recommendation for QQ Reading Android. I thought I would play it alone until the end.
