My enemies became my companions

Chapter 217 You Are Not an Extraterritorial Demon

Chapter 217 You Are Not an Extraterritorial Demon

The nun casually stretched out her hand, and a branch of red spider lily appeared in her hand.

As the name suggests, red spider lily is a flower that grows on the other side of the river.

She twisted the bright red red spider lily between her fingers, moved her lips slightly, and asked a question:

“What flowers do you see?”

Chen Yi narrowed his eyes and said, "Higanbana."

"I see it is a white lotus," said the nun.

"White lotus?" Chen Yi asked.

The white lotus and the red spider lily are almost opposite. The former means achieving Buddhahood and transcending the cycle of reincarnation, while the latter is regarded as the flower of the underworld and the flower of life and death.

“That’s right,” said the nun.

Chen Yi realized that she might be talking about Zen, so he became more alert, one hand still stroking his broken arm.

The nun asked vaguely, "Have you reached the other shore?"

"I've reached the other side." Chen Yi said with a smile.

"When you reached the other shore, what did you see?" the nun asked again.

"Higanbana." Chen Yi said after hesitation.

“So you haven’t reached the other shore yet,” said the nun.

Chen Yi asked: "You are not me, how do you know that I haven't reached the other side?"

"Since you have reached the other shore, how can you see the red spider lily?" the nun said indifferently.

Chen Yi narrowed his eyes.

Red spider lily, the flower on the other shore, is only the red spider lily for those who have not yet reached the other shore.

For those who have reached the other shore, the other shore is this shore, and the red spider lily is the white lotus.

What a great Zen talk!
At this moment, Chen Yi actually saw a little bit of the Buddhist principles of this nun in converting people.

The nun looked at him and said slowly:
"You ruined her destiny, and after I cleared the ignorance in your heart, her destiny naturally returned."

This is also one of the reasons why the nun agreed to the bet.

"You are very confident." Chen Yi said with a smile.

"I don't have confidence." The nun said, "You are confident."

"You were so confident, how come you don't have confidence anymore?"

“If I don’t cling to myself, how can I be confident?”

The nun smiled.

“You are obsessed with yourself, so you are confident.”

She revealed in one sentence that Chen Yi was too self-centered.

Chen Yi didn't react much.

After all, he and this nun are not on the same line of people.

It is better to have a strong ego. If you don’t have a strong ego, you would have been beheaded long ago.

The nun seemed to be talking about something serious at this time, and suddenly asked:

"How do you know that the gate of heaven is cracked?"

Chen Yi smiled and said:

"I've experienced that once."

"Are you a demon from outside the realm?"

Chen Yi was not surprised that she knew his origins, and said, "I am a demon from outside the domain."

However, the nun shook her head and said, "You are not a demon from outer space. There are no demons from outer space in the world."

Chen Yi frowned.

I don't even know that I'm wearing more clothes?

Just then, a figure seemed to be jogging up the hill.

Chen Yi looked up and found that it was Donggong Ruoshu. From the expression of this silly girl, he could tell that she saw that he had not returned for a long time and came to see what was going on.

"Oh, you're here, it seems you're okay." Donggong Ruoshu waved her hand and said, then she looked at the nun: "Who is this?"

The nun did not answer her but asked directly:

"What flowers did you see?" Donggong Ruoshu scratched his head and said without any defense:

"Higanbana."

The nun smiled and turned around and said to Chen Yi:

"Did she see the red spider lily like you?"

Chen Yi wanted to see what she was going to say, so he asked, "So?"

The nun smiled and said:
"So what you saw was the same flower. Why are you a demon from outside the realm?"

Chen Yi looked at the red spider lily and was stunned for a moment.

Then he suddenly caught a detail that he had not noticed before.

He didn't even realize that he had missed this detail.

The panel...

How long has it been since he appeared?

If you don't think about it, you won't know. When Chen Yi thought about it, he realized that he had not realized it before.

He glanced sideways and found that he could no longer see any panel.

What replaced it was a mysterious perception.

Chen Yi looked at Donggong Ruoshu, and his spiritual consciousness seemed to have passed through numerous obstacles and reached the three souls and seven spirits. He could sense Donggong Ruoshu's emotions instead of expressing them intuitively in numbers.

The sunlight shone on Chen Yi's face, and the nun's graceful face became increasingly blurred, yet increasingly majestic.

When Chen Yi came to his senses, he stared at the nun.

"Clairvoyance."

The nun said in a casual tone, still holding the flower in her hand,

"What you see is just the clairvoyance presented to you in a way that suits you."

After saying this, she seemed to be watching Chen Yi's expression.

To her surprise, Chen Yi's brows relaxed, and he looked a little surprised, but the surprise only flashed by.

The nun looked at him meaningfully.

"Why, does the Bodhisattva think that those words can shock me? Like a wake-up call, making me suddenly realize something?"

Chen Yi asked back with a smile.

In fact, I have been reborn for so long that I have thought about related possibilities a long time ago. I neither deny nor completely believe what Medicine Buddha said. I even regard the first save file as my previous life. How can I be detached from this world?

Now the nun says that she is a person of this world. Whether she is or not, no matter what, she has always been herself. Her surname is Chen, her name is Yi, and her courtesy name is Zunming.

The nun slowly lowered her eyes and said:

"I underestimated you."

Chen Yi was not modest either, and sneered:

"You don't think I fooled you after hearing just two or three sentences, do you?"

The nun smiled and nodded slightly without any hesitation.

What I just said about Zen is one of the methods of enlightenment in Buddhism.

She imitated Sakyamuni's smile and the posture of holding a flower. In the past when she traveled around the world and preached, she used a similar method to make all living beings understand that the so-called "self" does not exist.

In the six realms of reincarnation, a soul goes through reincarnation, sometimes being a king, sometimes being a slave, sometimes being a fairy in heaven, and sometimes being worse than pigs and dogs. She travels around the world to present this person's past, present and future. Who can tell which "I" in that life is the real "I"?

These "I"s are not the same. Once ordinary people realize this, they will become enlightened and no longer cling to the existence of "I".

When facing Chen Yi, the nun treated him as usual, but with a slight improvement, starting with a secret, attempting to make this boy realize the inconsistency of "I".

However, although the person in front of him had some emotions in his heart, they were only slight.

He is like a stone, more ordinary than ordinary people.

The girl Donggong, who was standing by, was a little bored. She suddenly interrupted them, not understanding anything in the conversation between the two. She looked left and right, then stood on one leg out of boredom, kicking up the fallen leaves on the ground with one foot.

Her nonchalant demeanor suggests that she has never been obsessed with "me".

The nun stared at Chen Yi deeply, as if she was thinking something.

Chen Yi also stared back and was also thinking.

The trees want to be quiet, but the wind doesn't stop.
