Chapter 4 Red Devil's First Intelligence

Chapter 4 Red Devil's First Intelligence

More than forty minutes later, a confused Elizabeth Keen was taken to the "post office" by helicopter, and Cooper talked to her in person.

Carrie felt that she was now physically younger and her mentality seemed to have returned to her former outgoing and cheerful self. Seeing that Donald had nothing to do, she took the initiative to go over and ask him where she could have lunch.

Although surprised by his familiarity, Donald still told him the location of the cafeteria inside the "post office".

"Let's go together. Don't wait for action. We're all hungry." Carrie said.

Donald looked at the time and thought it was right, so he arranged for the staff to take turns to eat. For those who had special posts and could not leave, he asked the canteen to deliver meals, and then they were taken away by Carrie.

When ordering, Carrie asked for steak and mushroom soup, and Donald ordered pasta for speed.

Carrey felt that the cool Donald was much more interesting than in the TV series. He was a very upright man and they could be good friends, so he took the initiative to approach him. Now it seems that the effect was good - although he felt a little helpless, he didn't know how to reject such a natural person.

During the meal, Carrey asked about Reddington's situation. Since he had now joined the temporary special team, Donald did not hide it from him and explained:

Raymond Reddington, 24 years old, graduated with honors from the U.S. Naval Academy and joined the Naval Intelligence Agency as an agent. Because of his outstanding ability, he was expected to become a senior officer in the Naval Intelligence Agency. However, he suddenly disappeared when he returned home to visit his family in 1990. Four years later, news proved that he had betrayed the Navy, sold out naval intelligence, and engaged in illegal activities...

Over the past 20 years, Reddington has committed countless crimes, even earning the title of "Crime World Manager" and nicknamed "Red Devil", and is the FBI's most wanted criminal...

After talking about Reddington's situation, Donald also became interested in his job and asked whether the IRS could really collect taxes from criminals and gangs?

"Of course it's true!" Carrie said, "That's what I do."

He had worked as a field officer in the tax collection department of the branch for three months and had carried out five missions, collecting taxes from criminals. Now he has been transferred to the Special Auditing Department of the General Administration, and will specialize in this work in the future. After being assigned to this special team, he really wants to try to see if he can collect taxes from the Red Devil!

"Doesn't that mean we have to fight every time?" Donald asked.

"That's not necessarily true." Carrie thought about the fact that he had fired his gun three times out of five missions, so he decided to hold back and said, "It's only possible that more than half of the missions would involve fighting! The IRS still has considerable deterrent power!"

Donald was amused by his words. It seemed that the other party was just like him, and there was always danger in his work. This made him feel that the distance between them was much less. However, he still asked, "Then why did you come here? Do you really want to tax Reddington?"

Hearing Donald's question, Kerry smiled bitterly and said, "Yes, my boss said I am a man of both civil and military talents, and very suitable for this job, so he sent me here!"

Donald heard that there was something behind his words, but he didn't ask any more questions. It was no wonder that he was targeted by his superiors. This was not uncommon in the public sector. He changed the subject and asked, "Do you think you can collect the tax from the Red Devils?"

Kerry swallowed the last piece of steak and said with a smile: "It doesn't matter whether it works or not. We have to try it anyway. We are here anyway!"

"You're amazing. You can still laugh now!" Donald was infected by his generosity and couldn't help but joked, "Work hard. If you succeed, you'll be famous!"

"Then I'll take your good words!" Carrie now remembered more of the plot, and knew that this FBI special operations team set up specifically for Reddington would be fixed and exist for a long time. He wanted to stay here now. Carrie had analyzed it. Now that he had a system in his mind and a combat uniform on his body, he could do well anywhere in the future. But compared to going back to the IRS, he was more comfortable here, and he could also gain a lot - just like just now, just by joining this temporary team, his pistol shooting skills were upgraded to the intermediate level!
So he planned to find an opportunity to talk to this Red Devil. If he could really collect some taxes and pay them, that would be a big achievement. Then he would think of a way to allow himself to stay.

Well, even if Reddington is reluctant to part with his own money, he knows so many criminals. It should be no problem to catch one a month and collect a million or eight hundred thousand dollars, right?
Donald didn't know what Carrie was planning. After quickly finishing his meal, he pulled him back to the command hall.

At this time, Cooper had just finished talking with Elizabeth. Although she couldn't explain why Reddington only talked to her, Cooper still believed that she was not an accomplice of the Red Devil and decided to arrange for her to meet with Reddington.

Although it was her first time entering such a heavily guarded underground base, and her first time seeing a imprisonment facility called the "Box", Elizabeth, who had worked in the New York branch for three years, quickly calmed down, sat down on the chair facing Reddington, and signaled the guards to open the "Box".

Cooper, Donald, Carrie and others were watching the conversation between the two in the observation room on the second floor behind her.

The "box" opened the door and moved back, revealing Reddington locked in a chair. He had been laughing since he saw Elizabeth appear, which looked very strange.

"Okay, I'm here. What do you want to tell me?" Elizabeth said straight to the point.

Reddington smiled and said, "Agent Keane, it's an honor to meet you... How long have you not been home?"

"Let's talk about Zamani," Elizabeth interrupted his greetings and asked directly.

Reddington still said: "I haven't been home for several years..."

"Why are you bringing me up? I'm just a nobody." Elizabeth could only interrupt him again, "Today is just my first day at work in Washington, and there's nothing special about me."

"I think you are very special!" Reddington said with emotion, and then suddenly turned serious and said: "Within an hour, Zamani will kidnap General Daniel Riker's daughter... He has a sophisticated plan. After the kidnapping is successful, he will leave the country within 36 hours..."

Elizabeth immediately asked, "How did you know this?"

"Because I was the one who brought him into this country," said Reddington.

……

Cooper, who heard this upstairs, asked: "Do you think what Reddington said is true?"

Donald said uncertainly: "I don't know, but since there is this possibility, we can't just ignore it."

"Ninety percent." Carrie said directly: "I mean, the possibility is very high."
