Chapter 68: Jin's torture and the young Maso
"Boss Jin! We found an unknown group of people being monitored!" The younger brother who was sent out for reconnaissance said to Jin with sweat all over his forehead.
"How many people? Where? Can you confirm which faction they are from?" Jhin frowned slightly. He could guess that the movements here could not be hidden from the eyes of the King of Headhunting Island, but did they react so quickly? Or was there someone watching this camp?
"We found three of them and they have been captured. It seems that these guys have been here for quite a long time. They have a small, relatively hidden camp. We don't know which force they belong to yet, but they are most likely local nobles."
"Okay, where are they? I'll go take a look." Jhin nodded to Taylor, then turned around and left with his younger brother.
The little brother led Jin all the way and came to a secret little camp. Three guys with bruised faces and noses were hung upside down on a tree and were being interrogated by several people.
"What's the situation? Have you found out anything?" Jhin walked forward and asked.
"Sorry, boss. These guys were very stubborn. We used threats, bribes, and even beat them up, but we couldn't get anything out of them." The younger brother put down the whip in his hand and said a little embarrassedly.
"You're so stubborn?" Jin glanced at the three people and said, "You guys leave first. Leave this to me."
"Boss Jin, are you going to interrogate them?" The younger brother looked at Jin in surprise. Boss Jin would actually come in person to do such a dirty and tiring job?
"Why, can't you?"
"Yes, of course, please feel free to do as you like." Another younger brother quickly covered the mouth of the person who spoke before, and then called on everyone else to leave.
Jin released his Observation Haki, and after making sure that everyone else was far away, he slowly walked up to the three people who were hanging upside down.
"Now, you have one last chance to tell me who sent you."
"A bunch of low-lifes, bah!" A relatively fat guy cursed and wanted to spit on Jin, but he didn't expect that he was hung upside down and had no strength at all. In the end, he spit on his own face, making the guy scream in disgust.
"Okay, it's your own choice." Jhin didn't say anything else. His kindness was for his own people. For his enemies, this remaining inquiry was the limit.
An hour later, Jin wiped the blood off his hands with a handkerchief and said to the younger brother beside him:
"After asking, we found out that they are the king's men. This group of guys have been here for a while. According to them, the king plans to attack when the number of people here reaches a certain level. Moreover, they have just informed their leader and told them about the goods we are transporting."
"Brother Jin, you are so awesome. How did you find out that answer? Please teach us." A younger brother asked after taking the handkerchief from Jin's hand with a very attentive look on his face.
"If possible, I hope you will never learn this in your life. You don't want to know how I asked this." Jhin said casually and turned away. He needed to discuss with Taylor about the attack that might come soon.
The younger brother just stood there in a daze, not understanding what Jhin meant until he heard his companion's scream of fear. He was clearly a two-meter-tall muscular man, but the sound he made was like a fart spirit that had been beaten.
He walked into the camp curiously, and saw two complete skeletons and bloody flesh spread out on the ground, as well as the last guy who was frightened to the point of insanity. Yes, the guy who survived and told the information was crazy. He was like a neurotic, repeating all the information he knew, and from time to time he would say, "Once you start, you won't stop. Once you start, you won't stop."
“This, this, this…” I didn’t know what to say for a moment. I just stood there in a daze, pointing at these indescribable tragedies.
Another older pirate came over and saw the tragic scene. He was the one who sent away the guy who was screaming in fear. The old pirate patted him on the shoulder and said, "Maso, stop looking. You might have nightmares at night."
Who would have thought that the young pirate called Maso didn't feel scared at all, but instead spoke with a look of longing.
"This is truly amazing! You are worthy of being called Brother Jin!"
"?" The old pirate felt that his three views were challenged. This kid is a pervert!
"That's right, why didn't I think of it? We just need information. It is enough for one person to be alive, so that we can execute the others. If the remaining two don't speak, we will choose another one. Even if they are willing to talk, we will not stop until one person is executed and their psychological defenses are completely broken. That's right, that's right!" The young pirate Maso began to review Jin's methods with excitement. Seeing all this, the old pirate slowly retreated. He found that for the first time, he seemed a little out of place because he was not perverted enough.
Not to mention that Maso continued his exploration, Jhin had already found Thorin and gathered all the backbones of the resistance.
"Everyone, this is the intelligence we have obtained. What do you think?" Jhin looked at the core members of the resistance army in front of him with different expressions, and began to observe everyone's expression carefully.
"Sure enough, the king cannot be deceived by so many people." Thorin sighed. He had guessed this possibility early on, but deep down he believed that the king might look down on the refugees, so he had been deceiving himself.
"Thorin, there's nothing we can do about it. Now we need to find a way to protect the refugee camp. The refugees have been malnourished for a long time and cannot serve as a fighting force at all. When the king's army attacks, they will become an obstacle. We can't let the battlefield appear near the refugee camp. This is too disadvantageous. We need to choose the battlefield location as soon as possible and let the king's army fight us far away from the refugee camp." A hunter who looked older put forward his idea.
"Yes, I agree with the old man. There is no place to defend the refugee camp. If a fight breaks out nearby, the refugee camp will definitely be severely damaged, and the refugees will suffer heavy casualties."
"But how do we get the King's Army to attack where we want? If they really come now, their main purpose is probably to steal the food and supplies provided to us by the Beasts. If the enemy leader has this purpose instead of annihilating us, he will definitely go straight into the refugee camp and start looting, and will not bother with us too much."
"You're talking about a problem. How about we gather the food in one place? Then spread the word and let them come and grab it, and we defend it?"
"No, how can you be sure that they will take the bait? What if they think we are spreading fake news? Then they will rush into the refugee camp without any care, and if they don't find any food, they will take the refugees to vent their anger. What if they don't?"
"What should we do? Give me some suggestions! Stop objecting all the time!"
"I'm not against it! I just want to consider more situations! Protecting refugees is the first priority! Overthrowing the king is the second! You can't confuse the priorities!"
For a moment, these backbone members were divided into three factions. One faction said to defend on the spot, one faction said to lure the enemy away, and the last faction said to change their home directly and attack the capital of the kingdom, the place that the enemy must rescue. However, as soon as this faction was proposed, it was opposed by the other two factions. Their numbers were too small and they simply could not do so.
The three factions were arguing fiercely and were about to break out into a fight, and Taylor could only persuade these people who were much more experienced with him with kind words. In the end, the three factions simply stopped talking and threw the problem to Taylor, asking him to make the decision. Taylor was also in a headache and didn't know which one to choose for a while.
As for Jhin, after giving the information at the beginning, he didn't say a word and watched the entire debate coldly, while secretly having his own thoughts.
"Everyone, please disperse first. Let me think about it for a while." Taylor waved his hand helplessly and dismissed the meeting. He then sat on the chair with his head covered, not saying a word. He did not raise his head until everyone except Jhin had left. He said to Jhin:
"Did you figure out who it is? Mr. Jin?"
