Chapter 4 Escape
"Squeak~Squeak~" With the sound of waves hitting the cabin, Lily slowly opened her eyes.

"Wake up." Kaido said.

"Where are we?" Lily asked

"On the navy ship, I didn't wake up much earlier than you." Kaido raised his hand, accompanied by the rattling sound of iron chains.

The two were in a holding room at the bottom of the cabin. To prevent them from escaping, the navy tied heavy iron locks on their arms and connected them to the wall with iron chains.

"Clang" the iron gate was opened.

"Are you awake? Here, your dinner." A navy soldier came in with two plates and placed them in front of the two men. Then he turned around and walked out.

"Hey! Wait a minute!" Lily asked in a slightly hoarse voice.
"Ah, what else?" the soldier said, picking his ears impatiently.

"Where am I going?"

"Navy Headquarters, where else can we go?" The soldier waved his hand and left without saying anything more.

"Squeak~" With the sound of the ship, Kaido and Lily looked at each other.

"We're leaving." Lily spoke first

"That's right, I don't want to be a running dog of the World Government." Kaido grabbed the bread on the plate in front of him and took a big bite.

"That bunch of disgusting nobles." Lily cursed. Although she had known about the disgusting nature of the nobles from her adoptive father, she had never experienced it herself. Although Lily did not have a good impression of the nobles before, she could not say that she had any disgust towards them. However, this incident awakened Lily's hatred for these nobles. They would not hesitate to sell out their brave soldiers for their own benefit. Such people should not exist!

"Kaido, what is your dream?" Lily also took a bite of bread.

"Me? I haven't thought much about it, but if I have to say, I want to smash all those disgusting nobles to pieces!" Kaido poured the contents of the plate into his mouth in one breath, chewed it twice and said.

"What a coincidence! I thought so too. Hey, Kaido, if the two of us can escape, how about we defeat these nobles together?" Lily also swallowed the food in two or three bites and reached out to touch Kaido.

"Well, well, let's drag down those guys who think they are so high and mighty." Kaido responded with his signature laugh.

"Break up that group of nobles and build a world where everyone can freely choose their future, a world without nobles." Lily looked at the iron railings in front of her, but imagined the future in her mind.

"But the first step is to escape," Kaido said.

"Of course. Is the stuff still there?" Lily smiled.
"Well, of course." Kaido took off his shoes carefully, and slowly pulled out a thin iron hook from the heel of his left shoe. This was Kaido's habit, a skill he learned when he was a gangster on the street.

"I'll keep an eye on it for you, hurry up." Lily said in a low voice.

"No problem, this kind of lock is actually not that difficult to open. It's open once it's done." As he spoke, Kaido had already opened one lock and hurried to open another.

At the same time, outside the detention room, two navy soldiers were laughing out of boredom.
"Did you hear any noise?" Soldier A asked, looking around.

"It's the sound of waves. Judging from the situation, there may be a big storm soon." Soldier B yawned. "Major General Bov, what a fool! Why doesn't he change ships? He has been promoted to major general of the headquarters. Logically, he should be able to change to a good ship. Why is he still using this old ship of the branch?" "Maybe it's because Major General Bov is nostalgic. Don't forget, we can work on duty at the headquarters thanks to Major General Bov's nostalgia. Otherwise, we would still be staying in the branch." Soldier A said.

"Maybe, but there are too many rules in the headquarters, so the branch should be more free." Soldier B stretched lazily.
"That's true, but the allowance at our headquarters is higher - no, there is indeed a sound, listen." Soldier A suddenly stopped and put his ear to the outer door of the detention room.

"Someone come and bring some water. Kaido is choking! Is there anyone here?" A faint voice came from inside the door.

"Not good! Hurry!" Soldier A quickly opened the hatch and looked through the fence door. Sure enough, Kaido was covering his throat with a dark face. Lily slapped Kaido's back hard.

"I have water here, open the door quickly!" Soldier A took out the water bottle from his body. The major general had specifically instructed the two of them not to get hurt. If one of them choked to death by mistake, he would not be able to bear the consequences.

But they didn't notice one thing: the handcuffs on the two men seemed to be a little loose, just at the moment the two soldiers opened the door.

"Swish!" Kaido and Lily rushed to the soldier in an instant, and they punched the soldier in the abdomen at the same time. The pain in the diaphragm made them unable to speak. Then they punched the soldier in the back of the head. For at least 24 hours, the two men would not know what happened in the outside world.

Kaido and Lily walked out of the cell door carefully and groped their way out little by little. It should be night time now. The corridor was very quiet, with only the old kerosene lamp in the cabin providing light.

"It's impossible for us to capture the entire ship. Our primary goal now is to find enough supplies. A ship this big must have a lifeboat, and we can leave as long as we put it down." Lily rubbed her corners and analyzed.

"No problem, let's find a warehouse first." Kaido nodded and agreed with Lily's point of view. So the two of them groped their way through the cabin with the help of the night. The cell where they were originally located was at the lowest end of the cabin. As they groped upwards, the ship became more and more shaking.

"It looks like it's going to rain heavily." Kaido sniffed. Having been fighting at sea for many years, they all knew the weather at sea.

"This is a trouble, but also an opportunity. Although we may encounter danger at sea, the chances of successfully escaping are greater." Lily said and was about to move forward, but was grabbed by Kaido.

"Here." Kaido pointed to the cabin on the side, on which was clearly written "Warehouse".

"Good job." Lily gave a thumbs up, and the two of them carefully pushed open the door. It was pitch black inside without any light. Seeing that there was no one around, the two of them groped their way in.

"There is rum here." Kaido touched a large barrel, opened the lid and smelled it and said. Fresh water at sea is not easy to preserve, so rum is almost a necessity.

"Here are dried meat and biscuits, as well as a few packets of bread, oh, and spices, which we won't need." Lily also gained something, "Don't forget to find some clothes." Clothes can keep you warm, and you can also pack these things.

"I know, but these clothes are too small. Hey, what is this?" Kaido found a large bag while rummaging. He reached out and grabbed it. It was quite heavy. Kaido opened it curiously.

"Eight Precepts!" Kaido whispered.

"What did you find?" Lily heard Kaido's voice and moved forward. She discovered that Lily's sword and Kaido's Eight Precepts were lying quietly in an unfolded bundle in front of Kaido, and there were also their clothes and even some Woka Kingdom's specialty bread and alcoholic beverages underneath.

"Here is a letter." Kaido silently took out a letter from his clothes and handed it to Lily.

The title of the letter is [From Kaido and Lily, Anderste Doro]
