Chapter 9 From the North
After listening to the stories told by the two old men, Ron thought that the barbarians were people like the Vikings and Huns in ancient times. They might seem relatively barbaric and uncivilized in the eyes of agricultural civilization due to geographical and cultural differences, but at least they still had normal rationality and could be negotiated with.

But looking at the group of people in front of him who looked like they were dancing wildly, Ron deeply suspected that they might be the descendants of early humans.

"Just like a goblin." Driver curled his lips, and his pair of burnt yellow eyes under his cloak stared at the opposite side, while his hands were ready to take off his short bow and arrows at any time.

This group of people may have even more in common with him.

"I advise you to get out of here," Ron said with courage. You must not show your cowardice when dealing with such people, otherwise, they will put you on the list of "prey" like wild animals. "My tribe is not far away. If you offend me, I will throw you back to that bitter and cold land!"

"Driverdo, tell them how many of us there are?"

"We have more than 200 people!" Driver understood what he meant and screamed immediately, "Ron is here to negotiate with the lord here. If you dare to attack him, you will not be able to stay here!"

Driver was different from humans like Ron. Ron was a bit guilty of pretending to be powerful, after all, he knew that the so-called "tribe" was actually just a group of goblins, and their fighting power was totally incomparable to these guys who were like little giants. So he spoke in a weaker tone.

But Driver was different. He was a goblin himself. In his eyes, these were just four or five people, nothing to be afraid of! Under the leadership of his boss, they could really defeat these "big goblins that looked like humans." So every word he said while yelling came from the bottom of his heart!

But when he said that, the other side really listened. Their Dire Wolf Tribe had only been here for a short time, and they basically acted arrogantly in this refugee camp. How could they know what forces were around them? Driver's noisy appearance really frightened Halleck and the others.

"Two, two hundred people?!" Halleck was shocked. "The land here is so fertile, and there are so many beasts? Just one tribe can support two hundred people?!"

"Chief, our tribe only had a little over a hundred people at its peak..." The tribesmen under him changed color, "Not to mention that we are now--"

Although almost all of those who escaped and came here are core and elite members, there are actually only a dozen people left in the so-called Dire Wolf Tribe, and Halleck has half of all the manpower here.

"Well, you're lucky!" Halek said bitterly. Although he had already backed off a bit, he still had to say something cruel. "It's not that we're letting you go today, but we can't take anything away! Get out of here now, and don't let me see you here again!"

As they spoke, several people quickly fled the scene with their belongings, and disappeared after passing a few tents.

"Greedy," Ivy muttered as she stood behind Ron. "If I were still in my prime, I would never let them just..."

"Okay, okay, we all know you were very strong in your prime," Ron interrupted her with a smile, "Let's go see if we can get into town. Maybe we can find a shop that sells healing potions - that should be able to cure you, right?"

"Of course you can," Ivy glanced at Ron and said hesitantly, "but healing potions are very expensive. I'm afraid..."

"This is not your problem," Ron waved his hand, "Let's see how we get into the city first."

After leaving the refugee camp, the group headed straight for the town gate, which was already crowded with refugees from all over the place. Six or seven guards were struggling to maintain order.

"Didn't you just come here the day before yesterday?" A guard sitting behind a desk rapped his knuckles on the desk. "I said no, and you've come to make trouble again and again. If you do it again, we'll have to expel you!"

As Ron squeezed through the crowd, he just saw a man with red skin standing in front of the guard acting as the Inquisitor. A thin, pointed tail behind him was swaying back and forth nervously, raising clouds of dust on the ground.

"Sir, please, just let me in!" The man's voice was a little tearful, "I walked a long way to find here. I'm not a refugee. I really have official business to attend to!" "Oh, I've seen a lot of people like you these days," the examiner sneered, "You said you have official business, where is your ID?"

"This...is lost."

"Well, what about your documents? Where are your letters?"

"No written form, I'm here to deliver a message!"

The Inquisitor's mouth twitched: "Okay, then who sent you?"

“This, this, this…” The man looked like he was about to cry. “I can’t say it. I really can’t say it!”

"Look," the examiner said with an expression that said "I knew it," "You will not pass the review. Get out of the way!"

When the man turned around, Ron could clearly see that he had a pair of raised bumps on his forehead.

"That's not something that can be bumped on," Ivy saw Ron's curiosity, "That's his horn, it's just a little small."

"He's a tiefling, or a tiefling."

"Tiefling?" Ron showed a look of realization. The contents of the book in his previous life finally corresponded to reality. "It seems that Tieflings are not very welcome in Fromm Town."

"To be precise, almost no town welcomes tieflings," Ivy corrected. "They have the blood of the devil flowing through their veins. They are born criminals, just like rats. No one wants them to appear in their rice jar."

"Aren't you a mixed-race too?" Driver interrupted with disdain, making Ivy so angry that she reached out to hit him.

"That's different!" Ivy's voice rose a little, but she was careful not to let the tiefling hear. "We are just rarely entrusted with important tasks, but there is no problem with normal life - whether on the human side or the elf side!"

“But they are not popular wherever they go.”

"Ha, just like us!" Driver laughed, not taking it seriously at all.

After all, goblins are considered born criminals by other races, but these discussions cannot hurt them at all.

Ron stopped the argument between the two and took them before the examiner.

"Hello, we are a team of adventurers who want to go into the city for supplies."
