Overlord: Start from the Goblin Lair.
Chapter 480: Would Rather Die Than Obey
A black dragon baby guarding a town is definitely a luxury, but the djinni have heard even more outrageous stories.
For example, a black dragon of two to three thousand years old guards a kingdom. That black dragon has very different living habits from other dragons of the same species. Not only does it not like to eat carrion, it also does not allow its offspring to eat it. Instead, it often gnaws on some special minerals. Over time, its scales are no longer the black color of a black dragon, but have turned into a dazzling purple.
That dragon had quite a reputation in the multiverse, and even Sunak had heard of it.
In comparison, this little black dragon here is actually nothing. However...
Sunak put Ron down, but did not enter the town immediately. Instead, he wrinkled his nose and sniffed: "Sir Ron, have there been many giants living here?"
"No, it can't be called life. It's just that the number is quite large, and it lasted for quite a long time. Maybe it happened more than a century ago?"
Ron raised his eyebrows in surprise: "I didn't expect you to have such a good nose? Can you smell what kind of giant spirit has appeared here?"
"I think it's probably a water giant," Sunak was silent for a moment, and said uncertainly, "It's been a long time, I can't feel much."
"There is only one thing: the stench of those water giants' pretentious landlords still lingers on this land, and it's still quite clear."
Sunak did not have much resentment towards the water djinns, and the few cold feelings he showed towards them were due to their self-important arrogance: all water djinns called themselves nobles, and classified everyone (even other djinns) as inferiors of different classes, but in fact the real djinn nobles were people like Sunak.
The Air Giant calls the Water Giant's behavior "the stink of the landlord," which is really a euphemism.
"Before, a guy summoned them and let them ravage this land. Later, they were conquered by some saints who went on an expedition to Danshui," Ron nodded, acknowledging Sunak's sense of smell. "But as you said, it's been a long time, and these things are basically in the past."
"If you wish, I would be happy to introduce you to such a noble person."
"The saints who went on the expedition to fresh water... You are not talking about those fishmen, are you?" Sunak's face changed. "Their main enemy is the water giants, but they treat us almost the same way... Forget it, it's better for everyone to keep their distance."
In the dark night, Sunak's blue body occasionally flickered a series of light arcs, which moved like snakes under his silk clothes, attracting the attention of many residents who had not yet returned home. However, the people under Roan had seen and experienced everything, from goblins to giants, from centaurs to black dragons. A mere elemental creature was not worth everyone's attention.
"It would be great if it was like this everywhere I go in the future," Sunak sighed softly. "Although we can blend into the crowd by disguising ourselves, it is not as good as being ourselves in a carefree manner like this."
It is not a scholar, nor a warrior or a spy, but just a tourist who likes to travel. It is best to minimize trouble. Here at Ron, it feels like it is at home.
The other djinn naturally had no prejudice against it, and the servants who served it were also contented, which was a scene that could not be seen in other elemental planes or under the command of other djinn. Ron led Sunak through the streets of Green Swamp Town, and during the process he had to forcibly pull the djinn out of the Gagawaa Tavern to prevent it from drinking and causing trouble. After the plague, the tavern business was even more prosperous, and even on such a cold night, there were a large number of drinkers gathering here.
Ron even saw the figure of his barbarian friend. Sera was obviously a little drunk at the moment. She stood on a chair with one foot on the table. She was holding a wine glass as big as two heads stacked together in her strong arms and drinking heartily.
Around her, a group of drunken guests and the kobold bartender leaned crookedly on any object around them, counting for Sera with their tongues bulging.
"Eighth cup! I bet she can drink ten!"
"What's ten cups? I bet Sera can drink twenty cups in a row!"
"She can drink until dawn!" A dog-headed man slammed his fist on the counter next to him and put out nine silver coins. "Give me a cup as big as this one! I want one too!"
Ron shook his head and sighed. He had no intention of disturbing Sera's drinking. For this warrior, alcohol, meat and fighting were her soul, even more important than her life. In her own words, she would rather tear off her head and give it to others as a drinking bowl than go a day without alcohol and meat.
"Don't worry, sir. I will take good care of her." In the shadow of the corner, the hooded shadow spirit slightly shook the wine glass in her hand. When she saw Ron, Yelena raised the wine glass from a distance and signaled to Ron, "When she wakes up, she will find herself in a warm bed, not in the cold snow."
"Shadow spirit..." Before being dragged out by Ron, Sunak forcibly grabbed the door frame and looked at Yelena again, "Ron, have you been to the Shadow Underworld? How did you kidnap her?"
"I didn't kidnap her. Most of the people here stayed voluntarily." Ron reached out his hand and took out the key from his pocket. The administrative employees hired had already left work, so he had to open the door himself to go home. "Come with me. I'll show you my plans first. You can pick the ones you are sure will succeed. This small place of mine doesn't have such a high tolerance rate. If you pretend to be knowledgeable and cause us to suffer losses, I will have no choice but to lock you in the oil lamp."
"Can you please stop holding the oil lamp?" Sunak reluctantly followed Ron out of the tavern. "Am I a djinn who would do that? I am a noble! I have dignity!"
"And let's take a step back - you can't catch me, right?"
"That's hard to say," Ron snorted, "I know a planeswalker. I think I can catch you no matter where you hide."
"Come on, look at these, what do you think--"
A moment later, the hysterical wailing of the djinn was heard in Ron's room: "No! This is impossible! You might as well just stuff me into the oil lamp!"
"Even if you kill me! Imprison me! Enslave me! I will never be able to generate electricity for your factory!" (End of this chapter)
