Chapter 15 Ochre Tribe
Chapter 15 Ochre Tribe
"Why are they here?"
Ron looked where Ivy pointed, and sure enough, there were four strong men wearing animal skins, three men and one woman, feasting on meat in a corner.
However, perhaps because no one else in the pub pointed fingers at them, or did not dare to do so, Ivy's actions were quite conspicuous and were immediately noticed by them.
"That elf, eat your meal!"
A man with a bald head and a scar on the top of his skull knocked on the table with a leg bone and shouted.
"It's a half-elf, idiot." Ivy made a "tsk" sound. She was not sick or in any trouble now, so there was no need for her to endure such anger.
"you!"
The bald man immediately stood up, rolled up his arms and walked over: "Little girl, you dare to talk back to me when I'm talking - ah!"
Ron felt his eyes blurry, and when he looked again, there was no trace of Ivy sitting on the seat in front of him.
The half-elf turned over and jumped up swiftly and gracefully, put one hand on the bald man's shoulder, and squeezed hard with five fingers. The other party's cry of pain immediately rang out along with the sound of dislocation.
Ivy swept her leg again and forced the guy, who was a whole head taller and twice as strong as her, to the ground.
Before, she had been talking about how great she was in her heyday, and Ron just thought she was just being stubborn - he didn't expect she was really capable!
All this happened in less than ten seconds, and nothing in the store was broken. Not even a drop of wine was spilled from the bowl in Driver's hand!
“Fuck you—Ahhhhhhh!”
The bald man tried to remain tough, but as soon as Ivy twisted his shoulder, his harsh words were immediately replaced by screams.
"Asshole, go save people!" The other two men stood up one after another. Ivy was not afraid at all. She kicked the bald man to the ground. It seemed that she was ready for a battle between three heroes and Lu Bu.
"Wait!" The female barbarian reached out to stop her two companions. She looked at Ivy with a calm expression, "My half-elf friend, I admit that it was rude of Olaf to yell at you just now, but aren't you going a little too far?!"
This woman is a completely different type from Ivy. Ivy has almost no obvious muscle lines on her body, but this one looks very strong and powerful - none of Ron's friends who liked to lift weights in his previous life had such muscles!
And what is that abdomen? An eight-pack?
"Too much?" Ivy sneered. "Isn't it even more excessive for you to rob other refugees outside the city? Didn't that guy named Halleck tell you that you ran into a tough guy today?"
"How dare you show up in this town? Are you planning to rob the townspeople too?"
"How is that possible? We've all paid—wait, you mean Halleck?"
The woman wanted to explain herself, but when she heard the name, she immediately showed a look of disgust: "You are wrong, we are from the Ochre Tribe, we are not in the same group with them!"
"Although we are also a tribe that was forced to the south by the severe cold, we have always been at odds with the Dire Wolf Tribe - we have been at odds with each other since we fled!"
“If we were from the same tribe, how could we leave them outside, or how could they let us into the city without going in themselves?”
"Is that so?" It was Ivy's turn to be embarrassed. A big part of the reason why she was so aggressive just now was because she didn't teach Harlech a lesson before.
Now, the repair was done, but the wrong person was hit!
"So it was a misunderstanding." The other guests around heaved a sigh of relief. They were all very nervous just now. Putting aside the half-elf girl, these big guys were not easy to deal with. If a fight really broke out, their dinner would be ruined.
This is not the case in the past. Food sources are tight now and waste is not an option.
"Um... I'm sorry," Ivy helped the bald Olaf up and smiled apologetically, "I was reckless just now."
"No, no, no, it's just my bad temper - hiss -" Olaf used his remaining arm to pull the other hand upwards, forcibly resetting the dislocated arm.
After being beaten without any chance of fighting back, the eyes of this grumpy old man became much clearer.
So being polite doesn't necessarily require education. He learned it by himself.
"So, many of your tribes have migrated south?" Ron ordered another glass of beer and walked over to hold the glass with the woman who was obviously the leader.
"Yes, we have met about ten of them," the woman drank the wine in her glass, "My name is Sera, the current chief of the Ochre Tribe."
"It's funny, but what you see now is actually all of our so-called 'tribe'."
Ron couldn't help but be curious: "Why is this happening? Is your hometown too far north?"
"That's right," Sera nodded. "According to the legends of our tribe, we went north to hunt during a very warm period. Later, although the weather started to get colder, we were still able to live normally, so we never thought of returning to the south."
"Until this time. In July last year, when it was the warmest, there was heavy snow falling from the sky. We began to realize that something was wrong and then we prepared to migrate."
“But we didn’t know how to grow crops, and we didn’t know how to domesticate animals like the people here, so we didn’t have much food left. We paid a heavy price for this.”
Sera snatched Olaf's cup and took another sip of wine. "But we are really good at hunting. Even the strongest mammoths in the north can be our food. Therefore, the examiner at the door let us in. These days we have been barely surviving by taking on some hunting and exploration missions in the Adventurer's Guild."
"I see," Ron nodded, and then changed the subject, "Have you heard that the mayor here is planning to recruit people to develop the Delusion Land?"
"I know, what do you suggest?"
"There is strength in numbers, maybe we can work together?"
"No," Sera waved her hand. "I know what you guys mean by 'cooperation': we do the hard work and you take the credit. We have rejected a group of people and are ready to go it alone."
"Okay," Ron didn't force it. Since the other party didn't want to, he couldn't think of any bargaining chips for the time being. "Well, I wish you good luck."
"Thank you, and I wish you good luck," Sera smiled and raised her empty glass. "By the way, many people have been thinking about this matter of developing the fantasy land recently. You'd better be careful. It won't hurt."
"Thanks for the reminder, we will pay attention to it." Ron nodded to her gratefully.
