Chapter 10 Moving with a Bang

After being released from prison, Shang Wan did not rush back to Yushu Village, but instead followed the original owner's memories and went to the Lu family.

Avoiding the patrolling guards, Shang Wan climbed over into the courtyard of the third house.

Having been kicked out just one day ago, almost nothing in the yard has been touched, and the furnishings are all exactly as they were.

Only a few rooms had lights on.

Shang Wan went straight to the dark main room and found the ten taels of silver that the original owner had hidden under the daybed.

Originally, the original owner's dowry included thirty acres of fertile land and two shops, but after being instigated by Zhong Chenghong (a cuckolded husband) in a letter, she ruthlessly sold them to buy a house in the prefectural city for her elderly mother and young siblings.

When she received the thank-you letter, the original owner was so moved that she had tears in her eyes. She was just waiting for Zhong Chenghong to pass the imperial examination and come to save her from the suffering of the Lu family.

When Shang Wan saw this memory, she was completely speechless.

Besides being good at sweet talk, Zhong Chenghong was so stingy that he never spent a single copper coin on the original owner.

The original owner had a talented and handsome husband and a well-behaved and adorable child, but instead sold her dowry to support that good-for-nothing who only had a mouth. She was always thinking about eloping. Was her brain eaten by zombies?

Shang Wan shook her head to shake off the unpleasant images in her mind, threw the silver into her spatial storage, opened the wardrobe in the dark, packed up all the clothes, and emptied the dressing table as well.

She looked around: blankets, sheets, pillows, cushions, and, of course, shoes; the table was nice, as were the stools, screen, teapot, cups, and candles…

All of these were the three family members' own belongings, and Shang Wan carried them in without any burden, rummaging around in the space.

The cabin in the space has doubled in size since yesterday, now measuring four square meters, which is just enough to hold all these things.

After she had packed most of the things in the house, she ran to Lu Chengjing's study and Yuanyuan's room and did the same thing.

Xiao Huan originally lived with two maids. After she left, all the valuables had already been divided up. Only some old clothes and shoes and socks were left in the closet, which could be used in an emergency. Shang Wan threw them all into her spatial storage.

As for Shi Tou's things, the original owner didn't know where Shi Tou lived, and Shang Wan naturally didn't know either, so she didn't waste time looking for them. She would just take a few pieces from Lu Chengjing's clothes and alter them for him to wear.

The small storeroom of the third branch contained nothing but five bolts of cloth and three paintings and calligraphic works, making it incomparable to the first and second branches. Shang Wan packed everything up and took it with her.

If she didn't want to make too much of a commotion, Shang Wan would have also wanted to pull up the two camellias planted in the yard and take them with her, as Yuan Yuan, Lu Chengjing, and Xiao Huan all liked these flowers.

She touched the two camellia trees with regret and muttered softly, "Grow well, I'll find you a new home later."

The camellia branches swayed in the wind, whether out of fear or anticipation, it was hard to tell.

As she passed by the garden, Shang Wan casually picked up the little turtle that was sleeping on the pebbles.

Yuanyuan loves coming to the garden to see this turtle and wants to take it home as a pet for her child.

As for the house-protecting tortoise that Madam Lu specially brought back from Qingchi Temple at a high price, Shang Wan said, "It belongs to my son now."

As dawn broke, Shang Wan returned home laden with his harvest, stepping through the morning mist.

Stone had something on his mind and couldn't sleep soundly. When he heard a noise in the yard, he put on his coat and went out to check.

Upon seeing the mountain of things piled up in the yard, he was so startled that he swallowed back the yawn that was about to come out and rubbed his eyes hard.

When I opened my eyes again, the things were still there.

Goodness, this isn't a dream!

"Hey, you're up pretty early." Shang Wan came out of the kitchen with half a cold steamed bun in her mouth, her voice a little muffled as she ate. "Perfect timing. When Xiao Huan gets up, you two can divide the food together. I'm going to catch up on some sleep."

Stone:"……"

How many places did the young mistress rob last night?

When Shang Wan pushed open the door to enter the room, Xiao Huan was already up, looking at her with a resentful gaze. Shang Wan rubbed her arms, wondering why she was so resentful so early in the morning.
"Young Madam, could you please let me know when you go out in the future?" Xiao Huan's eyes were red-rimmed. "I woke up in the middle of the night yesterday and didn't see you. I thought you..."

"Did you think I abandoned you and ran away?" Shang Wan smiled and finished the sentence for her.

Xiao Huan sniffed, her face flushed, and nodded emphatically.

"Don't overthink it." Shang Wan reached out and ruffled her hair. "Even if we have to run, I'll take you all with me."

"Young Madam, you must keep your word."

"it is good."

Xiao Huan immediately stopped crying and smiled. Without asking any questions, she went out to help tidy up the things.

Shang Wan took off her coat and got into bed. She lifted the blanket and saw that Yuan Yuan had woken up sometime earlier. The little girl had her mouth pouting and her big, watery eyes were looking at her.

"Mother is gone."

Her soft, delicate voice sounded so pitiful that it melted anyone's heart.

Shang Wan quickly hugged the little guy and coaxed him for a while before the little dumpling finally smiled.

She reached out and poked the little one's chubby cheeks, asking softly, "Still sleeping?"

"Hug." Yuanyuan snuggled into Shang Wan's arms, her little hands gripping her clothes tightly, as if afraid she would run away again.

Shang Wan smiled and fell asleep holding her sweet and soft baby.

In the courtyard, Shitou and Xiaohuan were sorting through the pile of things, and the more they looked at them, the more familiar they seemed.

Many items bore the Lu family crest, prompting Shi Tou to gasp in astonishment, "Could it be that the young mistress has robbed the Lu family of its property?"

"If you can't speak properly, then don't speak at all." Xiao Huan rolled her eyes at him. "These all belong to our third branch of the family. What's wrong with the young mistress taking them back?"

"Why are you being so fierce? I didn't say no," Stone muttered. "How do you think the young mistress managed to bring these things back?"

We have both large and small items; even if we hire a vehicle to transport them, it would take quite a few trips, wouldn't it?
Xiao Huan: "Go ask the young mistress."

Stone:"……"

Shang Wan was awakened by her own son's pee.

"Mother." The little one, who had done something naughty, opened his big, dark eyes wide, his chubby little hands folded in front of him, looking utterly innocent.

Shang Wan pinched her soft cheek helplessly, thinking to herself that it was good that she brought back her clothes, otherwise she wouldn't have had anything to change into.

After cleaning up and having dinner, Shang Wan put her child on a soft mat in the yard, then went to the kitchen to get the little turtle so the two little ones could play together.

She tried it, and although the little turtle ate meat, it didn't bite; it was quite intelligent.

"Turtle!" Yuan Yuan was overjoyed to see the little turtle, her eyes sparkling, and she followed the little turtle as it crawled around on the soft mat.

Shang Wan watched for a while, and only walked away after seeing that the little turtle showed no signs of biting anyone. She said goodbye to Xiao Huan and then went into the mountains.

She was going to the county town to investigate Tian Sheng, and Shi Tou was going to walk around the village to inquire about information. She was worried about the two weak children, Shan Xiaohuan and Yuan Yuan, staying at home, so she had to go to the mountains to find someone who could guard the house.

The wolf was good; it looked more like a dog and wasn't as eye-catching as a leopard. She also had experience taming wolves.

After swiftly traversing the mountains and forests, Shang Wan found the wolf pack's settlement half an hour later.

The slender woman stood lightly on the treetop, looking down at the group of gray wolves with their heads held high, and greeted them, "Hi~ Want to come home with me?"
