Chapter 537: The Volume is Contagious
Eberhard grew increasingly irritated as he stared at the book: "No, this book is so boring!" He was tired of reading it while lying down, and he was mentally exhausted!
How exactly did that high-ranking mage named Moran manage to bury himself in these theoretical books every day and study them so diligently?
Does that mean that once you reach a higher rank and have stronger mental power, even reading won't be boring?
Whenever Eberhard got tired of lying down, he would get out of bed and go for a walk, and as he walked, he couldn't help but go and look at Moran.
Watching her sofa, which was near the bookshelf inside, being moved outwards day by day.
Every time I visited, her small table was covered with books.
She reads at an astonishing speed, making one wonder if she's actually reading at all.
No matter who passes by, it won't affect her in the slightest.
After hanging around her place for a while, Eberhard was reminded of being kicked out of his magic practice class by his teacher to catch up on theoretical knowledge. Feeling a sense of urgency, he quickly went back to his books.
Not only Eberhard, but many others noticed this high-ranking mage with purple hair.
She was always so focused and maintained a steady reading state, unlike the others. Even if they genuinely wanted to learn, they prepared comfortable tables, chairs, cards, and even refreshing drinks, but only a few could actually sit still.
They can't even sit back in a chair and meditate.
Every now and then, they couldn't help but want to go back to their dorm or wander around the outside of the mage tower.
At this point, they would come to see this high-ranking mage with purple hair.
Even advanced mages study apprentice-level theoretical books so diligently, how can they be so lax?
I immediately regained my motivation.
The allure of books is contagious; those who come don't want to leave, and those who come later, seeing so many people reading here, also refuse to leave.
As a result, the number of monks in Library No. 1 increased, and all sorts of chairs, sofas, and beds were placed there.
One day, when Moran went to the restroom, she suddenly noticed that someone had placed a soft chair in the hallway outside and was sitting there reading a book.
As Moran washed her hands in the restroom, she wondered, "Do monks curl their hands like this?"
She knew the monks cherished their time, but she hadn't expected that treating the library as their home had become the norm.
She quickly wiped her hands and hurried back to her seat.
Moran was unaware that when she finished reading all the books in the library, folded up the sofa and small table, and left Library No. 1, all the mages in the library breathed a sigh of relief.
Eberhard immediately closed the book in his hand, rolled out of bed, and turned the bed back into a deck of cards.
He wanted to go out and get some sun; he felt like his bones were rusting from lying down for so long.
If it weren't for the fact that the high-level mage named Moran kept persisting, he would have wanted to go out and relax a long time ago.
Who would have thought! She actually lived in the library for a whole month!
Eberhard watched as she flipped through the books on the inner shelves, one by one, until she reached the outermost one.
He even suspected that she had gone through all the books in the library.
He didn't believe a high-level mage would waste time putting on a show here, picking up a book they didn't want to read at all.
It was precisely because of this that he was motivated to grit his teeth and persevere.
But now things are better. That super-curly king is gone, and he can finally relax.
This past month has been the time when he has studied theoretical books most diligently.
I managed to read through several important apprentice-level books on mental magic theory, and my efficiency was higher than before.
So Eberhard felt perfectly justified in going out to relax. He walked briskly out of Library 1 and saw that familiar figure disappear at the door of Library 2.
"No way! Again?" Eberhard was starting to lose his composure. He walked past the door of Library Room 2, but couldn't help peeking inside, though he didn't see Moran.
"Never mind, I probably misread it."
Eberhard consoled himself and decided to go out and soak up the sun and breeze, then visit the magic training room to review his magic before returning to read his theoretical books.
He walked less than three meters before letting out a deep sigh, turning back, and entering Library Room No. 2.
"I'll just take a look, just one look! What if she didn't come in to read at all?"
Eberhard wandered around Library 2 and found Moran, who had already taken about ten books and found a place to put down his reading equipment, at the deepest part of the library.
In the blink of an eye, she sat down again and started reading.
Eberhard gritted his teeth, then gritted them again, extinguishing his nascent relaxation plan, and turned back to Library No. 1.
Unfortunately, the spot where he originally put his bed was already occupied.
He had no choice but to find a spot in the corridor outside Library No. 1.
Placing a bed in the hallway would obstruct other people's passage, so the building manager approached him and he replaced it with a sofa chair just like Moran's, where he sat and started reading.
Still seething with resentment, he thought, "I'll see how long she watches! If I can't beat her on the arena, I refuse to believe I can lose to a high-level mage on my apprentice mage's turf!"
However, it's not enough for him to suffer alone.
Whenever he saw a familiar apprentice packing up to leave Library No. 1, he would gently remind her, "Go take a look at Library No. 2! You won't regret it."
Then, a few more apprentices moved from the No. 1 library to the corridor to read.
They were all apprentices who had been deeply influenced by Moran and often watched Moran reading to suppress their growing impatience.
Another month passed, and Moran finished reading the books in Library 2 and moved on to Library 3.
Eberhard, who had stood up, sat back down.
His relaxation plans have fallen through again.
He's already come this far, he absolutely cannot lose!
then……
Two weeks later, Moran moved from Library No. 3 to Library No. 4.
Another two weeks passed, and we moved from Library No. 4 to Library No. 5.
Eberhard considered giving up several times, but when he walked to the door of the library where Moran was reading and saw her engrossed in her book as always, he gritted his teeth and went back.
Each time he couldn't find her, he thought he had won, only to find her in the next library.
Three months later, Moran left Library No. 9.
This time, Eberhard witnessed her walk into the elevator shaft.
This terrifying high-level mage finally couldn't bear to read anymore and left.
Eberhard breathed a deep sigh of relief, almost running back to pack his things and leave the library.
Half a year! He's been in Library No. 1 for a full six months.
He was now confident that his apprentice-level theoretical knowledge of mental magic far surpassed everyone in his previous magic practice classes, and that he would have no problem with the test!
He couldn't believe he'd spent so long in the library! He even smelled rotten.
