Chapter 406 The Flying Giant Spider

Chapter 406 The Flying Giant Spider
"When I graduated, my dad specifically asked my mom to tell me to avoid traveling to the Yara Empire if possible, and if I absolutely had to go, to be careful," Lilith said.
"Even a witch might be mistaken for a sorcerer in disguise over there, which could bring her danger."

Therefore, it would be safer for us to improve our magic power and spells before heading to the Yara Empire.

"Wait, Lilith, the vampire duke infiltrated the temple and became the archbishop who controls a diocese."
"Aren't vampires dark creatures? Aren't they afraid of light priests who believe in angels?" Moran asked curiously.

"The God of Light worshipped in the Temple of Light of the Yara Empire is no longer the one created by the angels. Instead, it is a God of Light created by humankind itself."

They believed that everything in the world, except for darkness, belonged to the command of light.

Inside the temple, although light spellcasters still hold the highest status, they are no longer the only light spellcasters.

The angels' gaze had long since turned to the Well of Heaven, no longer to the humans of Valen. Only occasionally did a few angels below the peak level go to the Yara Empire to practice their missionary work.

The core of the current Yara Empire's Temple of Light is the otherworldly magical item "Helium of Light," which, like the angelic halo, can gather the power of faith.

"Not much information has been released about the Ring of Light; it's likely that only those within the Church know about it," Lilith said.

"An otherworldly magical item with unknown information?" Moran pondered. "Then we should be careful."

“Let’s not leave the Black Forest. No human would willingly enter the Black Forest, which is full of death. If we go in, all that will be left are corpses,” Vasita said.

"Then I'll have to learn some necromancy beforehand. It'll probably be even more effective in the Black Forest!"

Sylph hadn't even learned a single necromancy spell.

Immediately, everyone started looking for books related to necromancy to read.

Moran also looked for some books on corpse preservation, dissection, and suturing related to the Death Servant Technique to prepare for creating humanoid Death Servants and practicing the Death Servant Technique.

They watched until noon, then Lilith leaned out and looked down at the ground: "Let's find a place to land and have lunch!"

"No need! Let's set up a small table in the middle and cook hot pot!" Moran gestured for a spot.

“The ground is not as safe as the air. It would be best if we could avoid landing, but is there a table that is this small and just the right size?” Vasita asked.

“Of course!” Moran pulled out a card: “Specially prepared for dining on the flying carpet!”

The manifestation of this was a small, low table that was just the right size for the four of them to sit around.

There was also a divided hot pot on the table, the size of which matched the tabletop.

"But this small table and pot haven't been imbued with magic, so we'll have to cook the ingredients and vegetables ourselves."

Moran took two packets of hot pot base and put them in the pot to boil.

“Hot pot is easy to cook, and it’s no big deal to cook it yourself! You provide the broth and utensils, so let us handle the ingredients!” Lilith said.

"Yeah!"

Vasita and Sylph also opened the card shop and started looking for ingredients to cook in the hot pot.

Moran didn't refuse, but simply chose a dipping sauce card and a cold drink card for four people.

The selected ingredients are all pre-processed food cards, which can be directly put into the pot once they are materialized, making it even more convenient than cooking with cooking magic.

“I never imagined that one day we could cook hot pot in the sky.” Sylph dipped a piece of greens into the steaming hot pot.

“I hadn’t thought about it either,” Moran said, looking at the receding scenery.

After arriving in Valencia, things happened that she never dared to imagine in her previous life. Perhaps it was because the view from the air was so beautiful, and the breeze passing through the windproof shield was just right to blow away the heat and spiciness of the hot pot, that they unknowingly ate too much.

The flying carpet was only the size of a double bed; it was barely big enough for four people to sit and eat hot pot, but not enough to lie down.

They had to put the table away, sit in pairs along the edge of the flying carpet, dangle their legs, and lie back so that four people could barely lie down.

The flying carpet hadn't left the wilderness yet, so the invisibility rune combination hadn't been activated.

The young witches playing in the courtyard of the Ground Witch's House pointed to the sky and shouted loudly into the house:

"Mommy! Mommy, look! There's a big flying spider! It has eight legs and flies so fast!"

The witch mother came out to see what was going on and immediately burst out laughing: "What big spider? That's a witch sitting on a flying carpet with her legs dangling!"

"Mom, when I grow up, will I have eight legs too?" the young witch asked earnestly.

The witch mother suppressed a laugh and said seriously, "Yes! When you can fly with eight legs, you'll truly be all grown up!"

The young witch gazed at the "giant spider" disappearing into the sky, her face full of worry: "When will it grow so many legs?!"

……

In the afternoon, Moran took out her flying carpet, and everyone moved onto it to continue their journey.

There wasn't enough room for the tent on the flying carpet, so as evening approached, they still needed to find a place to spend the night and rest.

“Land there!” Sylph said, pointing to a grassy area with a wide view. “The soil there looks thick, which is a good place for burrowing mushrooms to hide.”

“I think that place is nice too,” Lilith said.

Moran controlled the flying carpet to fly over, and just before landing, Sylph jumped off the flying carpet with the small planting pot containing the burrowing mushroom in her arms. She used her alien magic to convert some magic power to feed the burrowing mushroom and then placed it on the grass.

The burrowing mushroom quickly transformed into a giant mushroom house.

“Let’s put the tent in my mushroom tonight!” Sylph said. “It has enough space inside to fit four tents.”

“Okay!” Moran and Vasita agreed.

Their burrowing mushrooms have only been cultivated for a short time and are not yet ready for use.

“I don’t need it, I want to try my burrowing mushroom.” Lilith also took out a planting pot.

The vampire vine wrapped around her arm, and Lilith quickly added, "Let the burrowing mushrooms hide under the vampire vine; let the vampire vine act as the guardian of the ground."

The vampire vine eagerly jumped out of the planting pot, swelled up and grew into its complete form, almost taking over the entire meadow in the forest.

Looking at the vampire vines, which were even larger than they had been two years ago and covered in barbs that exuded a dangerous aura, Vasita murmured:

"There's no need for burrowing mushrooms anymore, right? It's safe enough to just stay on the ground."

The vampire vine gives the impression of being at least a top-tier magical plant.

“That’s still necessary. Once we’re out of the wilderness, if someone sees a tent at the foot of the vine, they’ll probably be more curious and come closer rather than stay away,” Lilith said. “Unless we want others to find us, it’s best to leave no trace.”

In the end, they still lived in the burrowing mushroom.

Lilith burrowed into her little mushroom to set up her tent, while Moran and Vasita both entered Sylph's burrowing mushroom.
